Product Usage Instructions

Before Initial Use:
Unpack all parts and ensure they are in good condition. Do not use the appliance if any parts are damaged or missing. Return it to the retailer for replacement.

Assembling the Appliance:

Connecting the Hose:

  1. Attach the suction hose to the hose connection port on the front of the appliance until you hear a click.
  2. To remove the suction hose, press the buttons on each side and pull it out.

Connecting the Hose to the Telescopic Tube:

  1. Insert the end of the suction hose with the air valve into the end of the telescopic tube with a wider diameter until you hear a click.
  2. To remove the suction hose from the telescopic tube, simply pull it out.

Placing the Nozzle on the Telescopic Tube:
Always switch off the appliance before changing nozzles. Attach the nozzles to either the telescopic tube or directly to the handle of the hose.

Cleaning the Appliance:
Regularly empty the dust container and clean the filter unit with a HEPA filter to maintain optimal performance. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning and maintenance.

Storage:
When not in use, store the vacuum cleaner in a dry and safe place. Keep accessories together to prevent loss.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

INTENDED USE

  • This appliance is designed for vacuum cleaning household dust.
  • Never use the appliance for vacuuming the following: liquid or wet substances; embers, lit cigarette butts, matches, etc.; hot, flammable or explosive materials; pointed objects, stones, coins or small metal objects.
  • Vacuuming these substances could cause damage to the appliance or personal injuries: glowing ash or other hot material could cause the filter to catch fire, liquids could cause a short-circuit, very fine dust may clog up the filters and sharp pointed objects may damage the filters.
  • This vacuum cleaner is for personal use only and is not intended for commercial use.
  • It must only be used as described in this guide. Any other use is prohibited and would void the warranty.

RISK OF INJURY

  • Keep fingers, hair, loose clothes and face away from the tube when the vacuum cleaner is on.
  • Pay close attention when the vacuum cleaner is used in the presence of children.
  • Use caution when vacuuming stairs.
  • Keep the cord at a distance to avoid tripping.

CORRECT CONNECTION

  • The vacuum cleaner must be connected to a properly grounded outlet that is easily accessible.
  • The voltage must match the technical specifications for the appliance (see section “Technical Data”).
  • Only use a suitable extension cord that matches the technical specifications of the appliance.
  • Ensure that the cord is not a tripping hazard and does not block passage.
  • Position the cord so that it will not be crushed or caught and does not come into contact with hot surfaces.

PROPER USE AND WARNINGS

  • Always check the appliance for damage before operation. If parts of the appliance, cord or plug show visible signs of damage, do not use and do not try to repair or replace any part. In this case, contact your retailer or an authorized service centre for repair.
  • Do not use the appliance if it has malfunctioned, vacuumed liquids or if it has been dropped. Have it checked by a specialist.
  • The appliance should only be used when it is fully and correctly assembled in order to prevent damage to property or to the appliance.
  • The dust container and the filters must be properly inserted.
  • Do not immerse the appliance, the cord or the plug in water or other liquids in order to avoid electrocution.
  • Never handle the appliance, the cord or the plug with wet hands.
  • Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, severe temperature fluctuations, open fire, direct sunlight or moisture.
  • Do not drop the appliance or allow it to be knocked violently.
  • Never place heavy objects on the appliance.
  • To prevent damage to the motor or filters, do not vacuum any liquids or pour them into the dust container.
  • Only use the accessories recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Do not vacuum any large or bulky objects that could jam or block the flow of air in the tube or hose.
  • Never leave the vacuum cleaner unattended when turned on or plugged in.
  • The appliance must be turned off before unplugging.
  • Turn the vacuum cleaner off and unplug it immediately in the following instances:
    • If left unattended for a prolonged period of time.
    • If no longer in use.
    • Before changing accessories.
    • If an error occurs while the appliance is in use.
    • If liquids or foreign objects have been vacuumed.
    • Before a thunderstorm.
    • Before cleaning the appliance and the accessories.
  • When unplugging, always grasp the plug and pull it, never pull the cord.
  • Never pull the appliance with the cord, always use the handle.
  • Do not try to lubricate the rollers with lubricant or oil as this could cause dust and dirt to adhere to the rollers.
  • Empty the dust container regularly to prevent overloading the motor.
  • Clean the filters regularly to prevent overloading the motor.
  • Never clean the HEPA filter with water. Only use a brush or a dry cloth.
  • The dust container and the foam filters must be completely dry before you insert and use them or store the appliance.
  • Store the vacuum cleaner indoors in a dry, cool place that is not accessible to children when not in use.

CONNECTING THE HOSE TO THE TELESCOPIC TUBE

  1. Slide the end of the suction hose with the air valve into the end of the telescopic tube with a wider diameter. You will hear a click once it is locked in place.
  2. To remove the suction hose from the telescopic tube, simply pull the suction hose out.

PLACING THE NOZZLE ON THE TELESCOPIC TUBE

CAUTION

  • Always turn off the appliance before changing the nozzles.
  • The nozzles can be attached either to the telescopic tube or directly to the handle of the hose.

Select a nozzle attachment and place it on the end of the telescopic tube with the narrower diameter. To change the nozzle attachment, pull it off and place a new one on the telescopic tube. The accessories include:

  • The combination floor nozzle is suitable for both carpets and hard floors (ceramic, wood floor, linoleum). The foot switch allows you to change between carpet and hard floor. A brush and a rubber lip are extended on the underside of the nozzle for use on hard floors.
  • The upholstery nozzle is suitable for cleaning all kinds of upholstery such as sofas, car seats, etc.
  • The crevice nozzle is suitable for upholstery, cleaning the inside of cars and any hard to reach locations that other nozzles cannot reach. The brush nozzle is suitable for all uneven objects, furniture, lamps, profiles and skirting boards, window ledges, etc.

An arrow marker on the crevice nozzle indicates how to turn it into a brush nozzle. Fold the end of the crevice nozzle in the direction marked by the arrow.

PULLING OUT THE TELESCOPIC TUBE

  1. Press the slider on the telescopic tube in the direction shown by the arrow and extend the telescopic tube to the desired length.
  2. Let go of the slider and continue pulling on the telescopic tube until it locks itself in place

USE

CAUTION

  • Before starting the vacuum cleaner, remove any large objects that could block the tube or the nozzle. Turn off the appliance immediately if the tube or the nozzle becomes blocked.
  • Do not completely pull out the cord. It should not be pulled out further than the red mark. The yellow mark indicates the optimal cord length.
  • Turn on the vacuum cleaner only when you have checked that all parts have been properly attached and that the dust container and the filters have been correctly inserted and are completely dry.

The handle has an air valve with which you can quickly reduce the suction force if necessary. Open the valve when cleaning curtains, rugs or other light mobile items. Otherwise you should keep this valve closed.

  1. Assemble the appliance as described in the “Assembling the Appliance” section.
  2. The cord is located on the back of the vacuum cleaner and below the automatic cord winder. Pull the cord out to the desired length but not further than the red mark.
  3. Insert the plug in a properly installed outlet that is easily accessible.
  4. Press the On/Off button to turn the appliance on.

  6. Adjust the suction strength with the suction control.
  7. Guide the nozzle over the surface to be cleaned. The vacuum cleaner can be pulled along after you like a sled.
  8. After you have finished vacuuming, turn off the appliance and remove the plug from the outlet.
  9. Firmly hold the cord and press the automatic cord winder. The cord will roll back in.
  10. Empty the dust container regularly (see “Cleaning the Appliance”). Store the appliance in a secure place (see “Storage”).

CLEANING THE APPLIANCE

CAUTION

  • Remove the plug from the outlet before emptying the dust container or cleaning the filters.
  • Empty the dust container regularly, or, at the latest, when the dust in the container reaches the MAX mark.
  • The filters must be cleaned regularly in order to prevent overloading the motor.
  • The HEPA filter should not be cleaned with water. Use a brush or a dry cloth.
  • The dust container and all filters must be completely dry before you insert them into the appliance for use.
  • Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the vacuum cleaner as they could damage the surface.

EMPTYING THE DUST CONTAINER

  1. Hold down the release button on the handle of the dust container and remove the dust container from the vacuum cleaner.
  2. Hold the dust container over a dustbin and press the release button to open the bottom cap of the dust container.
  3. Carefully tap the side of the dust container.
  4. Close the bottom cap of the dust container. You should hear a click when it is locked in place.
  5. For a more thorough cleaning of the dust container, the filter unit can be removed from the dust container. There is an arrow mark on the side of the container (as shown).
  6. If the filter unit is inserted correctly in the dust container, the upper arrow points towards the lower arrow of the closed lock symbol (as shown).
  7. To remove the filter unit, turn the dust container lid until the upper arrow points towards the lower arrow of the open lock symbol.
  8. Pull the filter unit up and out.
  9. Clean the dust container and the filter unit if necessary with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Then wipe with a dry cloth.
  10. When cleaning the container, make sure the HEPA filter does not get wet (see “Cleaning the HEPA filter”).
  11. To put the dust container and the filter unit back together, you must insert the filter unit so that the upper arrow points towards the open lock symbol.
  12. Turn the dust container lid until the upper arrow points towards the closed lock symbol and locks itself in place.
  13. Insert the dust container into the vacuum cleaner. You should hear a click when it is locked in place.

CLEANING THE HEPA FILTER
The HEPA filter is located in the filter unit in the dust container and should be cleaned regularly to ensure that the suction power of your vacuum cleaner is not reduced and that the motor is not overloaded.

  1. Hold down the release button on the handle of the dust container and remove the dust container from the vacuum cleaner.
  2. Open the dust container by releasing the fastener clip (A) and lifting up the dust container lid.
  3. Remove the HEPA filter (B) by pulling it out.
  4. Below the HEPA filter there is another foam filter. Remove it for cleaning.
  5. Tap the HEPA filter out over an open dustbin. Clean the filter using a brush if necessary. Never clean the HEPA filter with water.
  6. Tap the foam filter out over an open dustbin. If necessary, you can rinse the foam filter with clear cold water. Allow it to dry completely before inserting it again.
  7. Place the dry foam filter back into the filter unit.
  8. Insert the HEPA filter back into the filter unit.
  9. Close the dust container lid. You should hear a click when it is locked into place.
  10. Insert the dust container back into the vacuum cleaner. You should hear a click when it is locked into place.

CLEANING THE MOTOR FILTERS
The motor filters are situated in the vacuum cleaner unit, under the dust container. The motor filters should be cleaned regularly to ensure that the suction power is not reduced and that the motor is not overloaded.

  1. Hold down the release button on the handle of the dust container and detach the dust container from the vacuum cleaner.
  2. Remove the small motor filter (C).
  3. Tap the small motor filter out over an open dustbin. If necessary, you can rinse  the filter with clear, cold water.
  4. Allow the filter to dry completely before inserting it again.
  5. To remove the large motor filter, you must first open the filter cap (D).
  6. The large motor filter is located directly beneath the filter cap. Remove the large motor filter.
  7. Tap the large motor filter out over an open dustbin. If necessary, you can rinse the filter with clear, cold water.
  8. Allow the filter to dry completely before inserting it again.
  9. Close the filter cap.
  10. Insert the dust container back into the vacuum cleaner. You should hear a click when it is locked into place.

STORAGE

Store the vacuum cleaner in a dry, cool place and out of reach of children when not in use.
Place the crevice and brush and the upholstery nozzles onto the storage holder (E). Clip the storage holder onto the telescopic tube.

For easy storage, you can collapse the telescopic tube as far as possible:

Hook the cleaning foot onto the back of the vacuum cleaner so that it is horizontal.

Hook the telescopic tube on the bottom of the vacuum cleaner so that is it upright.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If the appliance should stop working properly, first check whether you are able to correct the problem yourself. If this is not possible, contact your retailer or a specialized service center.

NOVELCA offers a limited warranty for this product (hereafter: the “Product”) for one (1) year from the date of purchase of this Product, with the conditions set out below.
This limited warranty is valid only for the original purchaser of the Product and it may not be transferred. The present limited warranty is not meant to exclude, restrict, limit or modify the legal warranty given by law to the purchaser of the Product.
If the Product contains a manufacturing defect or if one or more parts of the Product is defective, the retailer commits to replace or repair, at its sole discretion, the defective part or parts without charge under the following cumulative conditions:

  1. the purchaser must contact the retail store where the Product was purchased;
  2. the purchaser must return the defective part or parts or the Product to the retailer;
  3. the purchaser must provide the retailer the invoice as proof of purchase and date of purchase of the Product;
  4. the purchaser must supply the Product identification information, including the serial number or the model number; and
  5. the period of one (1) year covered by this limited warranty must not be expired.

If the retailer decides to replace the defective part or parts, the replacement part or parts would be new or reconditioned, equivalent to new parts. The present limited warranty does not crea  te any other obligation with the provider of the guarantee than those explicitly described above. This limited warranty is not applicable:

  1. to consumable parts;
  2. to normal wear;
  3. when the Product is used for other purposes than what is described in the user guide (if any);
  4. when the serial number or  other identification information of the Product is erased or withdrawn;
  5. to damages  that are only aesthetic and do not affect the normal use of the Product;
  6. when the damages, defects, faults or other problems arise from:
