Introduction

SAFETY WARNINGS
Read and review instructions before using the adapter/converter.
Before using the adapter or converter, check the product you intend to use for the manufacturer’s voltage and/or wattage rating, which should be located on the product.
CAUTION: Adapters alone do not convert voltage. To avoid damaging your appliance, do not use it without a voltage converter.
Do not leave the converter in the wall outlet when not in use. Please do not continue to use the adapter/converter combo if it is not working properly, or if it has been damaged, or dropped in water.
The converter should be used only with appliances rated 51–1875 watts.
The converter should not be used at all with electronic appliances or appliances containing electronic components (i.e., the converter function should only be used with non-electronic heating appliances).
Some appliances may operate a little more slowly when used in foreign countries operating on 50 cycles (the U.S. operates on 60 cycles).
At times there may be a very low humming sound in the converter, appliance, or both.
This is normal
Due to unstable voltage in most foreign countries, if your appliance has a built-in thermostat, it may shut off your appliance prematurely. This does not mean your appliance or converter (or both) is not working properly. After your appliance cools down it should resume operating properly.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Most foreign countries operate on 220/240V. Most appliances sold in the U.S. are manufactured to operate on 110/120V. This converter allows you to convert the voltage system. Appliances that operate on 110/120V will not work in most parts of the world where the voltage is 220/240V. Your Travel Smart® by Conair™ All in One Adapter/Converter makes it possible to use most of your portable appliances almost anywhere in the world. The adapter/converter can be used as an adapter only or as an adapter/converter combo function. The adapter-only function should be used with dual-voltage appliances. The adapter/converter combo function should be used with single-voltage appliances.

How to determine whether the appliance is single or dual-voltage

The indication panel shows information like model #, wattage, etc. It also lists the type of voltage. Dual-voltage appliances will list 110/220V AC, or 100/240V AC, or something similar. This means they accept both 110 and 220V AC. Single-voltage appliances will just say 110V AC or 120V AC.

Other items such as laptop computer battery chargers, camera battery chargers and iPods automatically adjust to 110V or 220V power.

ADAPTER ONLY

The voltage selector switch should be positioned in the adapter setting.
Plug dual-voltage appliances into your adapter.
Select the appropriate country plug blade and plug it into the foreign wall.

ADAPTER/CONVERTER COMBO
The voltage selector switch should be in the converter position. Plug a single-voltage appliance rated up to 1875W into the converter and select the correct foreign outlet plug. Plug into a foreign wall. Please note, that the converter cannot be used with low-wattage appliances (i.e., rated 0–50W).

SELECT THE PROPER PLUG

Europe – Push the first set of side buttons forward.
UK/HK – Push the second set of side buttons forward. Then, push down the middle prong.
North America/South America/Japan – Push the third set of side buttons forward.
Australia/New Zealand – Push the third set of side buttons forward. Swivel each prong to the proper angle (as shown).
Note: When using a 2- or 3-prong Australia/NZ appliance, you may need to apply some force to the plug to insert it all the way.

LIMITED ONE-YEAR WARRANTY

Conair will repair or replace (at our option) your unit free of charge for 12 months from the date of purchase if the appliance is defective in workmanship or materials.
To obtain service under this warranty, return the defective product to the service center listed, together with your purchase receipt and $5.00 for postage and handling. California residents need only provide proof of purchase and should call 1-800-3-CONAIR for shipping instructions. In the absence of a purchase receipt, the warranty period shall be 12 months from the date of manufacture.
ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, OBLIGATIONS, OR LIABILITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, SHALL BE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE
12-MONTH DURATION OF THIS WRITTEN, LIMITED WARRANTY.
Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
IN NO EVENT SHALL CONAIR BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES FOR BREACH OF THIS OR ANY OTHER WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WHATSOEVER. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of special, incidental, or consequential damages, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
This warranty gives you special c legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state.
