Thank you for purchasing our wireless CarPlay adapter Before using this product, please read this manual carefully to help you understand the product faster and use it proficiently.

1. This wireless carplay adapter is ONLY designed for iPhone to use Apple CarPlay wirelessly on factory car multimedia system which has built-in wired Apple CarPlay function.
2. ONLY iPhone 6 or newer models are compatible with this wireless Carplay adapter. Please note that your iPhone operating system must be iOS 10 or above.
3. After the Bluetooth pairing is successful, the iPhone WiFi will automatically connect to the wireless CarPlay adapter’s WiFi, and then disconnect the Bluetooth connection by default.
4. If your car has been customized with features (such as front-facing camera monitoring, car 360 surround monitoring, etc.), there will be a successful connection but there is a probability of a black screen appearing, this is not indicative of a product issue.If there is any issue while using the adapter, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us. We will address your issue as soon as possible.

Working Principle

This wireless CarPlay adapter uses a WiFi protocol to transform your original wired CarPlay to wireless CarPlay, but the initial connection between your iPhone and the wireless carplay adapter its made through Bluetooth. After successful Bluetooth pairing,your iPhone’s WiFi will automatically connect to wireless CarPlay adapter’s WiFi, and disconnect the Bluetooth. For this reason, no Wifi connection can be used while connection will be lost. If there is any interference, please disconnect from the interfering WiFi manually. Make sure your iPhone’s Bluetooth does not connect to other devices once the WiFi connection is established, even if the wireless Carplay adapter will not need it to work it may cause your CarPlay sound to be unavailable, you may need to manually disconnect it or turn it off. Once pairing is completed your Wireless CarPlay Adapter will only need WiFi to keep working, but you will need your Bluetooth On for future connections.

[NOTE]
This wireless carplay adapter can be paired with multiple iPhones, but it can’t connect with them at the same time. Before pairing to a new iPhone, please disconnect the WiFi and Bluetooth of the currently connected iPhone.

How to check if a car has CarPlay

Method 1: Plug your iPhone(iOS 10 or above) into the main USB port of the vehicle. If the car has an Apple CarPlay function, the APP will pop up on the screen requesting permission on your iPhone.

Method 2: If there is a CarPlay icon in the car stereo menu, your car has built-in Apple CarPlay

Method 3: Contact your car dealer for help.

How to use

1. Start the car and wait for the car to head until the system is loaded.
2. Connect the wireless CarPlay adapter to the USB-A or USB-C port in your car. Please be sure plug the adapter into the port that is for wired Apper CarPlay.
3. Once the wireless CarPlay adapter is successfully connected to the car(please note that some cars may require selecting the CarPlay option on the display screen to initiate it),you will see the following message on your car’s display screen,indicating a successful connection between the wireless CarPlay adapter and your vehicle.
4. Open WiFi and Bluetooth on your iPhone, find the Bluetooth named”smart dongle-xx”, click on”Pair”, click on “allow” ‘, click on “use Carplay”. (Most will automatically access whether the phone matches,no need to manually click)

NOTE!
It may take up to 30 sec to connect the first time, after that it will reconnect as soon as your car’s radio is on. If the iPhone to be used this time is not the last used iPhone, you need to manually set up the connection.

Firmware Update

When there is a situation that it is please make the carplay connect to connected but cannot cast the screen, reconnect it, or is not compatible with the vehicle, you can choose to update the firmware.

1. Plug in your Carplay Adapter to a USB port with a constant power supply, such as a computer port or power bank.(Note: When upgrading, please don’t connect the adapter to the USB port in the car.)

2. Open your iPhone and connect to carplay adapter through WiFi using the password: 12345678

3. Once connected to the WiFi, open “Safari” browser in your iPhone, enter and open the URL”192.168.18.8″ and click “Update” directly.
   *If the update fails, please try the following:

4. Turn off your phone’s Bluetooth.

5. Enter the phone’s WLAN settings and forget the network of the wireless CarPlay adapter.

6. Research and re-connect the “smart dongle-****” in the phone’s wifi list in your iPhone, enter and open the  URL”192.168.18.8 and click”Update” directly.

7. On the same page, you need also fill in the car make model years, and issue details, tap “Submit” to report the issue. Our engineers will document your problem and research possible solutions.

8. After the upgrade is complete, please restart your iPhone once before using the wireless CarPlay adapter.

Do not power off the wireless carplay adapter during the upgrade.

*If your problem is not solved please contact us, and we will help you as soon as possible, it is not necessary to return your product.

Warm Tips

1. The wireless CarPlay adapter is not suitable for simultaneous multi-device connection.
2. When connecting or using, please keep ONLY the iPhone that is connecting with Carplay to turn on the bluetooth. To avoid interference due to the presence of multiple Bluetooth signals.
3. There’s an increased latency or lag when using a wireless CarPlay adapter. Because the adapter has to act as a middleman between the iPhone and the CarPlay system. If the connection is disconnected frequently, please try to disconnect the carplay and reinsert it into the USB port.
4. Due to the addition and upgrade of models, if you encounter any incompatibility between the device and the vehicle, please contact us directly.

Warranty Information

Smart dongle wireless carplay adapter is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of purchase.In the event that a defect convered by this warranty occurs during the period stated above, please contact after- sales support for assistance.

The following are excluded form the warranty:

1. The one year warranty period has expired.
2. Damage is caused by mishandling and improper use according to the user manual instructions.
3. Damage caused by repairs made by the customer or unauthorized repair service personnel.
4. Damage caused by human factors(such as droping, water submerging, use of unknown liquid corrosion….)

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Audio issues(calls rejected or forwarded to voicemail/no play sound/microphone not working/ music playback interrupted or paused/voice functioning abnormally…..)

1. Ensure that your phone’s Bluetooth is not connected to any other device.. If yes, please ignore other auto-connected Bluetooth devices or turn off the Bluetooth directly.
2. Clear the programs running in the background of your iPhone when using the wireless carplay adapter.
3. During a call, verify that your “Audio” output option is set to CarPlay.

Note: Bluetooth just plays a pairing role in the work of the wireless CarPlay adapter. After successful pairing, it only needs WiFi to keep working. So it doesn’t matter if you turn off the Bluetooth once paired but remember to re-enable it for automatic reconnection when using the Adapter again.

Q: Unable to automatically reconnect?

1. In some cars, we need to select “automatic connection” in the CarPlay settings so that the automatic connection function of the wireless Carplay can be used.
   Settings → WLAN → Click the” ” symbol on the far right of “smart dongle-****” -> Turn on “Auto-Join”.

Q: What should I do when the car screen goes black?

1. When we pair it for the first time, we need to keep the WiFi turned on (no need to manually connect to the wireless carplay adapter’s WiFi at this time), and then perform Bluetooth pairing. When the Bluetooth pairing is successful, the WiFi will automatically become connected to the adapter. You can observe whether your WiFi has automatically changed to the state of connecting the dongle when this page appears.If not, please unplug the adapter-ignore the”smart dongle -****” on your Bluetooth list –restart your iPhone once -plug the wireless carplay adapter and repair it again.

Q: How to Enhance Sound Quality?
A: Modify the “Audio streaming mode”:

1. Enter the adapter’s firmware update interface;

2. Find “Audio streaming mode” – there are 4 different options:
   Default – A fixed setting suitable for most car models

   • Mode 1 – A fixed setting suitable for some car models
   • Mode 2 – Adaptive settings based on car parameters
   • Mode 3 — Unmodified car audio output settings

We suggest you to try different ones and select the one that better fit your needs. You can also try other modes to get the best results.
Please restart your iPhone before using the wireless Carplay adapter again. If this method does not work, please return the “Audio streaming mode” to the “Default”, and then try to upgrade the adapter.

Q: When pairing, CarPlay does not start or the car prompts that the device is not compatible/- does not recognize the USB ?
A: Modify the “Delayed start” mode:

1. Enter the adapter’s firmware update interface;
2. Find “Delayed start” – Change the mode from “Default” to “Model”;
3. Please restart your phone before using the adapter again.If this method does not work, please return the Delayed start” mode to the “Default”, and then try to upgrade the adapter.

NOTE : The”video streaming mode” doesn’t need to be changed.

If you have tried troubleshooting the issue based on the above information and the problem persists, please contact after-sales support. Unauthorized repair personnel are strictly prohibited from disassembling or assembling the unit.

Q: What is the password to connect to WiFi?

A: What we need to connect is Bluetooth, not WiFi. No password is required for connecting to Bluetooth. Just make sure your WiFi is turned on and unoccupied when pairing.

Q: The indicator light of the adapter is still on after the car is turned off.

A: Because the car will not cut off all the power immediately when it is turned off, the light of the adapter will not go out immediately, but it will take a while. Please rest assured that its power consumption is minimal and will not drain the car battery.

Q: Can't find the Bluetooth or WiFi of the adapter?

A: If convenient, you can test it with another iPhone. If only a specific iPhone cannot find the Bluetooth or WiFi of the wireless carplay adapter, please try to reset the network and Bluetooth settings of this iPhone and then restart the phone once; if the same problem happens on other iPhones, the unit may be defective. In this case, please let us know and we will refund you or send you a replacement one.

Q: How to deal with frequent disconnections?

A: The Adapter relies on a WiFi connection to function optimally with your phone. Frequent disconnections are often caused by Wifi interference. If there are other WiFi devices in your car, like a WiFi-enabled car camera, consider minimizing potential conflicts by giving priority to the Adapter's WiFi network. To reset network settings, Go to Settings -> General -> Transfer or Reset iPhone -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings.

Q: Can the adapter be paired with multiple phones?

A: This adapter can be paired with multiple iPhones, but only one device can be connected at a time. If you would like to pair it with a new iPhone, please cancel the current connection first. Please note, by Bluetooth function default, the adapter's system will only auto-connect back to the last used iPhone.

Q: When the phone plays videos, the audio is not synchronized with the video?

A: Even the original wireless CarPlay that comes with the car also has an audio delay when watching the video. Because video transcoding is more complex than normal audio file transcoding and takes longer to process. This is a normal problem of wireless CarPlay, not the adapter's problem.

Q: Does the adapter hurt the vehicle's battery life?

A: No. The power consumption of the dongle is 0.25W. It does not need to be charged, so it will not affect your battery.

Q: Can all USB ports on the car be used to connect to the CarPlay?

A: Many vehicles have multiple USB ports, but only one works for Apple Carplay. If you have multiple USB ports, just experiment with them until you find the one that states the Apple CarPlay.assembling the unit.
