Viba Divided K Farm and Half Double X Wood Doors

Assembly instructions for Viba barn door styles Divided, K, Farm, & Half/Double X

• Hardware is provided with your door.
• Do not use glue or other hardware in assembly.
• Doing so will damage your door, and void the warranty

Staining and finishing

Please follow the manufacturer’s instructions when staining or painting. Viba is not responsible for any damage caused by improper finishing.
If staining;

• before assembly, stain the door & decorative strips
• assemble, and then apply a topcoat
• decorative strips should be screwed to the door after the paint on the door has dried

If painting:

• before assembling, prime the door and decorative strips with a shellac-based primer
• paint the decorative strips
• assemble and paint the door
• decorative strips should be screwed to the door after the paint on the door has dried

Assembling your Viba Barn door

Wooden components include horizontal and vertical frame members, & panel pieces. You will receive decorative strips for K, half X, & double X styles
You will also receive:

• 6 x 5 5 /8” long screws
• a Torx 25 driver bit
• 6 x wood buttons

Styles – K, half/double X

• 5/8” screws for decorative panels. You will need a Phillips #1 to install these

All joints are labeled with letters or numbers.

• Insert all panel pieces into the grooves.
  If there are narrower pieces, insert these first and last.

• Line up the stile with your rails, and starting from the middle, tighten the long screws.

• You are done the basic assembly.

For K, half X & double X styles:
Adding decorative strips

• Ensure the paint or topcoat on the door is fully dried before installing the strips
• The deco strips will butt up against the stile.
• Drill pilot holes in the decorative strips where you want your screws to go. Avoid placing a screw in a groove. Make sure the ends are secured, and then use whatever pattern you like.
• Be gentle when screwing the deco screws into the wood, to prevent the wood from splitting. The head of the screw should be flush with the wood.
