Product Usage Instructions

Midsole Notch/Mounting Location
The recommended midsole mounting point is stamped into the topsheet of the ski. Locate the stamped notch near the middle of the ski, directly in front of the stamped serial number.

Binding Screw Glue (required)
Before screwing in binding screws, fill the cleaned drilled holes with 2-3 drops of polyurethane glue, such as Original Gorilla Glue. For skis with poplar cores identified with a P as the last letter of the serial number and all Pure Carbon construction skis, use slow set epoxy instead of polyurethane glue.

Drilling Holes
Use a proper binding jig with the base of the ski supported directly under the mounting area. Ensure the drill is set perfectly perpendicular to the top of the ski for maximum binding retention.

Re-mounting
Never re-use existing holes; always drill new holes. Maintain 7.5 mm clearance between pre-existing holes to ensure maximum  binding screw retention. Plug and seal non-used holeswatertight.

FAQ

  • Can I re-use existing holes when mounting ski bindings?
No, it is not recommended to re-use existing holes for mounting ski bindings. Always drill new holes to ensure proper binding retention.

  • What type of glue should I use for binding screws?
For most skis, use polyurethane glue like Original Gorilla Glue. For skis with poplar cores or Pure Carbon construction, use slow set epoxy.

Midsole Notch/Mounting Location

The recommended midsole mounting point is stamped into the topsheet of the ski. The stamped notch is located near the middle of the ski, directly in front of the stamped serial number.

Binding Screw Glue (required)

  • Prior to screwing in binding screws, fill the cleaned drilled holes with a 2-3 drops of polyurethane glue (such as Original Gorilla Glue).
  • For skis with poplar cores identified with a P as the last letter of the serial number and all Pure Carbon construction skis, use slow set epoxy in place of polyurethane glue. Example models of these models are: Phoenix 105, Pure Carbon Ahmeek 105, any custom Pure Carbon Models.

Drilling holes

  • Use a proper binding jig with the base of the ski supported directly under the mounting area. Make sure the drill is set perfectly perpendicular to the top of the ski to ensure maximum binding retention.
  • Follow hole diameter and depth as printed on the ski topsheet. If topsheet markings do not exist, the skis should be drilled with a 9.5mm Ø 3.5mm drill bit.

Re-mounting

Never re-use existing holes, always drill new holes. New holes must maintain 7.5 mm of clearance between pre-existing holes to ensure maxiumum binding screw retention. Non-used holes must be plugged and sealed watertight.
