Safety instructions

Intended use
This device is intended for the wireless transmission of DMX signals in lighting systems. Any other use or use under other operating conditions is considered to be improper and may result in personal injury or property damage. No liability will be assumed for damage resulting from improper use.

Danger for children

Ensure that plastic bags, packaging, etc. are properly disposed of and are not in the reach of babies and young children. Choking hazard! Ensure that children do not detach any small parts from the product. They could swallow small parts and choke. Never let children play unattended with the electrical devices.

Electric shock caused by high voltages inside
The device contains parts where high voltage is present. Never remove any covers. There are no user-serviceable parts inside the device. Do not use the device if covers, safety equipment or optical components are missing or damaged.

Electric shock caused by short circuit
Always use a properly insulated, tripe-core mains cable. Do not modify the mains cable. Failure to comply may result in electric shock and risk of fire and loss of life. If in doubt, seek advice from a registered electrician.

Electromagnetic compatibility with other electrical equipment
Using the device near radios or TV sets may cause interference. In that case, increase the distance between the devices.

Notes on radio transmission
This equipment uses a frequency range that is free of charge and registration within the European Union (EU). For more information, please visit: http://www.thomann.de. Make sure that no metal objects are located between the transmitter and receiver. Avoid interference caused by other radio systems.

Possible staining
The plasticizer contained in the rubber feet of this product may react with the coating of the floor and cause permanent dark stains after some time. If in doubt, avoid direct contact between the rubber feet and the floor by using a suitable mat, such as felt slides or similar.

Operating location

Never use the product in the following ambient conditions:

  • in direct sunlight
  • in conditions of extreme temperature or humidity
  • in extremely dusty or dirty places
  • in the immediate vicinity of a heat source or near open flames
  • in places with high electrostatic or magnetic radiation

General handling

  • To prevent damage, do not exert force when handling the product.
  • Do not immerse the product in water. Only ever wipe it down with a clean dry or damp cloth. Donot use liquid cleaners such as benzene, thinners or flammable cleaning agents
  • Disconnect the device from the power supply when it is not in use.

Connections and controls

  1. [SIGNAL] control LED
    Lights up when a connection has been established.

  2. [BATTERY] control LED
    Lights up green: The battery is fully charged.
    Lights up red: The battery is charging.

  3. [SIGNAL STRENGTH] control LEDs
    Depending on whether the device is running as a transmitter or receiver: Transmitter: Indicates the set transmission power.
    Receiver: Indicates the quality of the received signal.

    • [TX]: Device is running as a transmitter. [RX]: Device is running as a receiver. [LINK]: Device is running as a transmitter: Lights up: Device is ready to establish a connection.

    • Device is running as a receiver:

    • Off: Device is not connected to a receiver.

    • Flashing: Device is paired with a receiv-er, but there is no connection.

    • Off: None data transfer.

    • Lights up green: DMX data in use. Lights up red: RDM data are in use.

Connecting the device:
Only as transmitter:

  1.  Briefly click the connect button.
    The [LINK] LED flashes:
    The device is connecting to all receivers that are ready for connection.

Breaking the connection

  1. Press the connect button for 3 seconds.

Switching the device between receiver (TRX) and transmitter (TX):

  1. Briefly click the connect button 5 times.
  2. Press the connect button for 3 seconds.
  3. Press the connect button to switch between RX and TX. The selection is indicated by flashing of the relevant LED.
  4. Press and hold the connect button to confirm the selection.
