COMPASS 33546 Daytime Running Lamp
Homologated daytime running lights, 12 V power supply. Each light is equipped with 4 high- -brightness HI POWER LEDs. The package contains lights (2 pcs), light mounting brackets, a control unit, and complete wiring for connection.
ON/OFF system – daytime running lights turn on automatically when the ignition key is turned. When parking or beam lights are turned on, DRLs are automatically switched off (or dimmed depending on connection) and switched on again when the lights are turned off. LED lights have low power consumption, use diffused light that does not form a cone (does not dazzle) but ensures the basic condition of daytime running lights (DRL).
When the DRL are on, beam lights do not need to be turned on, when visibility is not reduced.
Warning:
- Never modify the lights or otherwise interfere with their construction.
- Before assembly, make sure (in the car’s documentation) that it is possible to interfere with the car’s installation. Otherwise, it is necessary to entrust the installation to the service.
- When connecting, always pay attention to correct polarity – the danger of damaging lights.
- When mounting, and adjusting the lights, avoid looking directly into light – protect your eyes!
- The position (inclination) of the lights must be set so that the vehicle does not dazzle other road users.
- Contour (dipped, main) lights must not be on at the same time as the daytime running lights. We recommend entrusting the installation to a professional workshop or car service.
- The installation of these daytime running lights is not a conversion of the vehicle or a change to the technical data. Their placement on the vehicle is not subject to any additional approval.
Assembly instructions
Design and placement of daytime running lights is determined by ECE/UN
homologation regulation No. 48, which is prescribed by Decree No. 341/2002
Coll. and their use is governed by Act No. 361/2000 Coll. on road traffic as
amended by Act No. 411/2005 Coll.
The lights are mounted on the front of the car, only two pieces of these
lights can be installed on one car. The lights must be placed in a horizontal
plane, a minimum of 250 mm and a maximum of 1500 mm from the ground.
Both lights must be placed at the same distance from the imaginary vertical axis of the vehicle.
The mutual distance of the lights must be at least 600 mm, and the distance of the light from the outline of the vehicle may be a maximum of 400 mm.
Electrical installation
Connect according to the drawing.
- disconnect the + and – terminals of the car battery
- connect the red cable to the + 12V source supplied after turning the ignition key
- connect the black cable to the chassis of the vehicle (-12V)|
- connect the * yellow / white cable to the + 12V source of the car’s side lights
- connect both daytime running lights to the module
- connect the + and – terminals of the car battery again
To ensure the automatic turn-off function of the daytime running lights, it is necessary to connect the yellow cable to the +12V source of the car’s side lights. As soon as the side (dip-ped) lights are on, the daytime running lights are turned off.
Alternatively, instead of the yellow cable, it is possible to connect a white cable to the +12Vsource of the car’s side lights. As soon as the cornering (dipped) lights are switched on, the daytime running lights will reduce the light intensity to 30%.
