Maintenance

To get the longest life out of your Oliver James Lilos please follow the correct maintenance procedure. After each use, please remove from the water and rinse with fresh water, ensure the float is completely dry and store in a clean and dry place. Leaving your lilo in the pool when not in use can cause general wear and tear of the fabrics.
IMPORTANT INFLATION NOTES
Inflate your Lilo slowly until most of the wrinkles in the fabric is gone. Do not over inflate to remove the wrinkles. If needed adjust the Lilo cover. Do not over-inflate until hard, the float should only feel firm to the touch. We recommend using the included pump to inflate your float. Do not use air compressors or compressed air to inflate. Use of an air compressor can rupture the product beyond repair and voids any warranty.
IMPORTANT AIR TEMPERATURE NOTES
Changes in air temperature will cause air to expand or contract. This can cause serious damage to your float. Please use caution when leaving your float in direct sunlight or on hot surfaces as the sun will heat the float and cause the air to expand. You may need to release air from your float if your float is hot. Conversely you may need to add air to your float when in-contact with cold water or if left outside overnight.

Storage

  1. Make sure your lilo is completely dry.

  2. Unfold and lay your lilo on a flat, clean and dry surface away from water.

  3. Locate the Velcro window at the back of your Lilo and open to see the valve.

  4. Remove the Valve Body allowing air to escape. Keep the Valve

  5. Body and Valve Cap in a safe space.

  6. Attach the Deflation Adaptor to the air pump and hold inside the Valve. Turn pump on.

  7. Wait for all the air to leave to lilo, be patient as the folding will be harder if there is still air in the inflatable.

  8. Once fully deflated quickly screw the Valve Body and Valve

  9. Cap into the Valve.

  10. Smooth out creases and fold into thirds (lengthwise) and then roll using Fig 4.

  11. Strap the lilo using the included belt.

Repairs

FABRIC WEAR AND TEAR
General wear and tear of fabrics can be caused by the edges of your lilos repeated rubbing against rough poolside surface.

If you have noticeable wear and tear on your lilos, we recommend contacting our customer service who can provide bumpers or fabric swatches that be used to patch up the areas affected.
INFLATABLE PUNCTURE

  1. Locate the puncture visually or use a solution of soapy water and or by submerging your lilo under water and looking for bubbles.
  2. Depending on size and location of the puncture a patchwork can be glued through a cold bonding process. For punctures on seams or welds please contact our customer service.
  3. Contact OJL customer service to receive TPU film patches.
  4. Purchase Bostik Vinycol 1520 with hardener RFE (5% weight mixing ratio).
  5. Fully deflate your lilo and remove all air.
  6. Cut the TPU film patch to size, roughly 2cm around the sides of the puncture.
  7. Prepare both surfaces prior to gluing, cleaning using MEK solvent or Ethyl Acetate.
  8. Wait 10 minutes until the solvent evaporates.
  9. Apply a thick layer of glue to both the puncture location and the TPU film patch.
  10. Lastly, use a hard tool to push out any encapsulated air between the TPU film patch and the puncture location.
