USER MANUAL METAL DETECTOR
GT1000

Thank you for your purchase. Here is your new metal detector GT1000.
Before operating the metal detector, please read this manual and all of the operating instructions thoroughly and retain it for future reference.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Do not wear the headset in areas with heavy traffic to avoid accidents.
  2. Do not detect in military areas where bombs, mines or gas explosives may be buried.
  3. Stay away from areas where electrical lines, cable routes, or pipelines may be buried.
  4. After the excavation is complete, restore the ground to its original state and try not to damage vegetation.

IMPORTANT FACTS TO KNOW ABOUT GT1000

  1. Thisis a MOTION detector.
You must sweep the search coil from side-to-side to detect metal. A motionless search coil over a metal object maybe will not result in detection. But you can select PP mode to test.

  2. Do not use indoors. Detector is for outdoor use only.
Household appliances emit electromagnetic fields, which can interfere with your detector. If conducting an indoor demonstration, turn the sensitivity down and keep the search coil away from appliances such as microwaves, computers, and televisions. If your detector beeps erratically, turn off appliances and lights.
Do not test by placing coins on the floor. Most floors contain metal.
Keep the search coil away from floors, walls, and tables, which can contain metal.

  3. GT1000 metal detector is equipped with a rechargeable lithium battery, which can be recycled. Alkaline batteries are not required.

  4. Adjust sensitivity to a low level in the event of false signals. Always begin use at reduced sensitivity. Increase to full sensitivity after you are familiar with the detector’ s operation.

  5. If you operate the metal detector with a partner at the same time, please pay attention to keep a distance of more than 10 meters and reduce the sensitivity appropriately.

  6. If there are any errors in the detection, turn down the sensitivity setting to a lower level. Always start with a low sensitivity level when using. After familiarizing yourself with the detector, you can operate at high sensitivity.

  7. In areas of high mineralization, the beep will sound even if there is no metal. In this case, reduce the sensitivity level and increase the height between the search coil and the ground until the error signal disappears.

  8. Detection requires moving the search coil at a constant speed, making sure that the search coil is parallel to the ground, and about 1-2 inches from the ground.

  9. Most valuable metals emit a consistent signal. If the signal is inconsis- tent, it is generally a false signal that requires multiple detections back and forth to confirm.

  10. If the positioning mode fails, the detector will beep even if it is not near any metal. Lift the detector into the air and press the PP key to clear the interference.

  11. It is not recommended to operate in extremely hot or cold environ-ments, and it needs to be protected from fog, rain, and sand and kept clean.

SOUND

Metal detector has 3 tones: low tone, medium tone, and high tone. Each tone corresponds to a different metal and the display will also show the corresponding metal type, so that it is easier to identify the metal type of the target object.
Use headphones:

  1. The device has a built-in speaker that can be used without external headphones, and when connected with headphones, the volume of the external speaker will be muted. Detection with headphones helps to detect weak signals, especially when exploring in noisy places. For your safety, please do not use at traffic hubs or other potentially dangerous places.
  2. To protect your hearing safety, turn down the volume before you start listening.

POWER SUPPLY& BATTERY LIFE

  1. Plug the charging cable into the TYPE-C charging port of the metal detector, and the other end into any 5V phone charger for charging.LOLARAN GT1000 Metal Detector for Adults Professional - Power supply
  2. It takes 4 hours to fully charge, and it can continue to work for more than 20 hours when fully charged, and it can support rechargeable power supply in the middle.
  3. The display screen has a display of power. One cell represents 25% of the remaining power, two cells represents 50% of the remaining power, three cells represents 75% of the remaining power, and a full cell represents 100% of the power. When the power only shows one cell, you need to promptly charge the device.

AUTONOMOUS TESTING/ VALIDATION OF RESULTS

10.1 Indoor Testing:

  1. Place the detector on a wooden or plastic table, let the search coil protrude about 10 inches from the table, away from the walls, ceiling and floor, turn off all kinds of electrical appliances that cause electromagnetic interference, and remove the watch and ring from your hand. (See picture) Note: Do not test the detector directly on the floor of the building. Most buildings have metal in the floor, which may interfere with the object you are testing or completely mask the signal.
  2. Slowly scan the sample of material you find such as iron nails, gold rings or coins, moving up and down / left and right 2-3 inches above the surface of the search coil. When the detector detects any metal, it will emit the corresponding tone, the display will show the corresponding metal type, if the target contains more than one metal, switching between several metals on the display is normal. The side of a coin being swept across the search coil may also cause several metals to switch between.

10.2 Outdoor Testing:

  1. Find a place on the ground outdoors where there is no metal interfer- ence.

  2. Place a sample of the material you want the detector to find such as a nail, gold ring or coin on the ground.
Note: If you are using precious metals to test the detector, mark the area where you placed the item so you can find it later. Do not put it in weeded areas.

  3. Keep the search coil at a height of 1-2 inches above the ground and slowly move the search coil to the area where the sample is placed, moving the search coil left and right to determine the location of the strongest signal.
Tip: If the detector does not detect the item, check if the target pattern rejects the metal type and also make sure you are moving the search coil correctly.

NOTE ON THE SEARCH PROCESS

LOLARAN GT1000 Metal Detector for Adults Professional - Power supply
2

  1. Move the search coil at a slow, steady and consistent speed so that the search coilis parallel to the ground and about 1-2 inches from the ground, do not swing up and down on the ground like a pendulum, move forward in a left to right pattern. Do not lift the coil at the end of the search as it will result in false readings.
  2. Once metal is detected, a beep sounds and the type of metal is shown on the display.
  3. To ensure proper detection, always perform multiple swings to avoid missing any objects.

Note:

  1. Most precious metal objects emit a repeatable signal. If the signal is non-repeatable, it is most likely a false signal. False signals can be caused by trash floors, electrical interference, or irregularly large pieces of trash metal. When there is a clear sound indicating the buried target. You can read out the approximate target type on the LCD screen and judge the approximate depth based on the signal strength in PP mode.
  2. If you find an area of buried metal, you should then return to “pinpoint” mode to narrow the target. By moving in multiple directions to determine the location of the strongest signal, the target will be directly below the search coil. Then determine the approximate depth of the buried target by the strength of the signal before you start digging. As shown in the picture.
  3. The depth of the target buried in the soil is judged to be biased by the degree of oxidation of the target, its size, composition and the influence of the surrounding electromagnetic interference.
  4. In highly mineralized areas or wet sandy areas, the detector will emit sound even if there is no metal. Interference can be reduced by lowering the signal sensitivity SENS.
  5. If there is a large amount of scrap metal in the detection area, you can select the NOTCH mode to eliminate the types of scrap metal that do not need to be detected. The composition, size and oxidation level of the metal will affect the displayed results.
After several practice sessions, you will understand the difference between accurate readings, multiple targets and highly erratic readings, and also be able to find targets quickly.

NO FAULT POSSIBLE CAUSE TROUBLESHOOTING
1 When there is no metal around, the machine
also emits an irregular beeping sound OR “beep…” •If you are detecting

indoors, you need to pay attention to electromagnetic fields and other metal interference, such as household appliances and steel bars inside the building. If you search outdoors, you need to pay attention to the interference of broadcast antennas and other electronic circuits.
•High ambient humidity affects.
•Use 2 detectors at close range. Or the sensitivity gear is too high.| Change the search location,
•find an open area and air test the detector. Or move to another search area and perform multiple tests.
Reduced sensitivity
•Maintain a distance of at least  • 10 meters between the two detectors.
2| Nothing was detected| •This product is a motion metal detector. It requires scanning search by moving coil.
•The sensitivity setting is too low.
•The target range is eliminated.
•The search coil is not parallel to the ground.| •Motion detection from front to back and left to right.
•Increase sensitivity gears.
•Restore all target ranges
•Adjust the angle of the search gcoil to be parallel to the ground.
3| The indicated metal category does not correspond to the real one| •The target has undergone oxidation resulting in impurity of the metal class, or the soil contains mineral interference.
•The search coil is moving too fast or at the wrong angle.| •Use pure metal type for independent testing, outdoor testing to dig out the real thing.
•Move the search coil at a slow, steady and consistent rate for detection.
4| The screen displays multiple target categories or several sounds at the same time| •More than one metal target may be present.
•The detector does not
recognize the target. Oxidized metal can cause a shift in recognition and tone.| •Keep the search coil parallel to the ground at all times and move the probe in multiple directions.
---|---|---|---
5| Signal instability, each time the detec- tion of the target
display is not the same| •Ambient electromagnetic interference.
•There may be more than one type of metal target.
•The detector does not
recognize the target. Oxidized metals can cause shifts in
•recognition and tone.
•The search coil is moving too
fast or at the wrong angle.
•2 detectors are used at close range.| •Move the search coil at different angles.
•Set different recognition ranges for scanning detection.
•Move the search coil slowly, keeping the angle of the search coil always parallel to the ground.
•Maintain a distance of at least 10 meters between the two detectors.
6| Repeated scans show different metal categories| •The target has undergone oxidation or the metal composition is impure.
•The distance is too far resulting in poor judgment.
•Insufficient power| •Use pure metal type for independent testing, outdoor detection to dig out the physical object shall prevail.
•The stronger the signal, the more accurate the judgment.
•Timely charging or plug into a
rechargeable power supply.
7| Metal is detected but the target cannot be found| •False signals
•Inaccurate positioning
•The area and depth of digging is not enough.| •Move the search coil back and forth several times to see if the signal is repeated, the signal that cannot be repeated is a false signal.
•Turn on PP positioning mode, scan the search coil at different angles to determine the
strongest point of the signal, and the target object is below the coil.
•Determine the depth of the
| | | target object by judging the signal strength. When the signal strength is full, you can start looking from the surface of the ground first, the weaker the signal represents the deeper the target object is buried, while the area dug needs to be larger than the coil area.
---|---|---|---
8| The search coil angle keeps changing or cannot be placed upright| • Search for a loose loose hand screw at the connection
between the coil and the adjustment lever.| •Tighten the hand screw at the connection between the search coil and the adjustment lever.
9| Detector does not work| • Low power
• Equipment damage| •Timely charging or external charging power supply.
