Some tree models include a storage bag. If your tree does not include a bag, the tree carton should be retained for tree storage purposes.

Each carton contains one top section, one center section (larger trees include additional center sections), one bottom section and one metal tree stand.
NOTE : Some larger trees (9 ft. and taller) will include more than one center section. If your tree includes additional center section(s), note that each section will be numbered in ascending order. The bottom tree section (which inserts into the tree stand) will be number 1. The next section as you go up, will be number 2, section 3 (if included) will follow until assembly is finished by inserting the tree top section.

Assembly (FIGURE 1)

Trees with EZ-CONNECT™ do not require separate light string connections between tree sections. Light connections are made through the center poles.

  1. Remove the protective packing material from the ends of all poles. Unfold the tree stand and partially insert the eye bolt. The base of the bottom section center pole will be tapered. Insert the bottom section pole into the tree stand making sure it is fully seated. Tighten eye bolt.
  2. Insert the center tree section into the bottom section. Note that the section ends are keyed to fit correctly. Insert additional section(s) if included.
  3. Insert the tree top in the same manner as the lower sections.
  4. On both the bottom and center sections, release the tie wraps holding the branches compressed to the tree center poles and let the branches fall into their lowered positions.
  5. Plug the light string cord from the bottom section into a power supply.
  6. Begin shaping the tree by following the Tree Shaping Instructions at right.

Tree Shaping Instructions

Your tree is shipped from the factory with all of the branch tips compressed to the center (Figure 2).
Tree Shaping Instructions
Note that it is best for all branches to be shaped one row at a time.
Be sure that all of the branches of the row to be shaped have been dropped to their fully lowered position.

  1. Starting with the lowest branch row of the tree bottom section, pull the left and right branches (wings) out away from center branch to about a 45º angle (Figure 3).
    Tree Shaping Instructions

  2. The smaller individual tips on each branch should then be spread out separately (Figure 4).
    Tree Shaping Instructions

  3. Follow this same shaping pattern as you work your way around that row of branches. When completed, move to the branch row above and repeat the process.

  4. As you continue to work your way to the next branch row above, the wing style branches will decrease, but branches will otherwise shape in a similar fashion. Figure 5 shows a completely shaped branch that does not have the wing style branches.
    Tree Shaping Instructions

  5. The tree top section will have wrapped style branches in place of the hinged style branches found on the lower tree sections.
Gently bend these branches away from the center pole and shape in the same manner as done previously.

  6. Once the shaping process of all sections has been completed, walk around the tree and perform any touch-up shaping necessary to fill obvious holes or openings.

For the center and bottom tree sections, hold the section upside down so that all branches fall back into the center pole. Use the tie wrap supplied to secure the branches in place.
All tree parts can be placed into the original carton or tree bag, if included. Your tree should be stored in a cool, dry place.
