Products containing allergens

Every edible product containing one or more of the main 14 Allergens (as listed by the UK Food Standards Agency – www.food.gov.uk) featured on our website, includes a detailed list of allergens within its product description as well as in this Allergen & Dietary Guide. Any main allergens are written in CAPITAL letters for clear reference.

Cross contamination

Please be aware that all of our products are baked and prepared in our dedicated kitchen facilities, which also handle all the main allergens including CELERY, GLUTEN (wheat), CRUSTACEANS, EGG, FISH, MILK, MUSTARD, NUTS, PEANUTS, SESAME SEEDS, SOYA and SULPHUR DIOXIDE. Our online and in store products are all made, and/or handled, within the same kitchen facilities.

Our team takes all necessary steps to minimise the risk of cross-contamination within our products.
However, please be aware that traces may occur due to our kitchen facilities being small and without ‘exclusive’ production areas for all of our different recipes.

Alcohol

Some of our recipes and/or decorations contain alcohol. If alcohol is being used in a product this is clearly notion the online product description, on the packaging label (for example on cookie bags) and in this Allergen & Dietary Guide. Examples of alcohol usage in recipe and/ or decorating include: liqueurs may be added to recipes for added flavor, or vodka may be used as a solvent to apply edible gold color. Some of our iced cookies or cake decorations are sprayed with edible pearl luster, which contains ethyl alcohol. When vodka or edible pearl luster is used to apply metallic gold or shimmer to decorations, the amount of alcohol used is minimal and evaporates in the drying process. On special request, in some instances we may be able to remove the alcohol element in the decorations, however, please note this may require a longer lead-time and could affect the look of the item for which details will be given at time of ordering

Vegetarian / Vegan

Some of our products are not suitable for vegetarians, due to the gelatin or food color that has been used within the ingredients. In these instances, we have clearly labelled ‘Not suitable for vegetarians’ within the online product description. In order to make an informed decision, we have labelled where an animal based product is used in our Dietary & Allergen Guide. We offer a small selection of vegan-friendly cakes online and, as well as a vegan-friendly afternoon tea, a small selection of cakes and savory dishes at our Parlor locations.

Eat in or takeaway items at the parlors

For allergen and dietary information on our eat-in or takeaway items, please refer to our Parlor menus (which can also be found on the location pages on our website) and in-store counter signage. All dishes and drinks are clearly labelled with the relevant allergens. If you require more detailed information or have any concerns, please speak with the Parlor manager.

Some of our cakes are garnished with fresh edible flowers which may contain traces of celery and mustard as well as pollen, which might not be suitable for hay-fever sufferers.
