IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS – OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE

  • Read this instruction manual thoroughly before use and save it for future reference. It is also available on our website; wilfa.com.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • Children shall not play with the appliance.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children without supervision.
  • Do not connect the air conditioner to the multi-purpose socket. Otherwise, it may cause a fire hazard.
  • Do disconnect the power supply when cleaning the air conditioner. Otherwise, it may cause electric shock.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.
  • Do not wash the air conditioner with water to avoid electric shock.
  • Do not spray water on the indoor unit. It may cause electric shock or malfunction.
  • After removing the filter, do not touch the fins to avoid injury. Do not use a fire or hair dryer to dry the filter to avoid deformation or fire hazards.
  • Maintenance must be performed by qualified professionals. Otherwise, it may cause personal injury or damage.
  • Do not repair the air conditioner by yourself. It may cause electric shock or damage. Please contact the dealer when you need to repair the air conditioner.
  • Do not extend fingers or objects into the air inlet or air outlet. It may cause personal injury or damage.
  • Do not block the air outlet or air inlet. It may cause malfunction.
  • Do not spill water on the remote controller, otherwise the remote controller may be broken.
  • When the below phenomenon occurs, please turn off the air conditioner and disconnect the power immediately, and then contact the dealer or qualified professionals for service.
  • The power cord is overheating or damaged.
  • There’s an abnormal sound during the operation.
  • Circuit break trips frequently
  • The air conditioner gives off a burning smell.
  • The indoor unit is leaking.
  • If the air conditioner operates under abnormal conditions, it may cause malfunction, electric shock or fire hazard.
  • When turning on or turning off the unit by emergency operation switch, please press this switch with an insulating object other than metal.
  • Do not step on the top panel of the outdoor unit, or put heavy objects. It may cause damage or personal injury.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS – ATTACHMENT

  • Installation must be performed by qualified professionals. Otherwise, it may cause personal injury or damage.
  • Must follow the electric safety regulations when installing the unit.
  • According to the local safety regulations, use a qualified power supply circuit and circuit break.
  • To install the circuit break. If not, it may cause malfunction. An all-pole disconnection switch having a contact separation of at least 3mm in all poles should be connected in fixed wiring.
  • Including a circuit break with suitable capacity, please note the following table. The air switch should include a magnet buckle and heating buckle function, it can protect the circuit short and overload.
  • The Air Conditioner should be properly grounded. Incorrect grounding may cause electric shock.
  • Don’t use an unqualified power cord.
  • Make sure the power supply matches the requirement of the air conditioner. Unstable power supply or incorrect wiring or malfunction.
  • Please install proper power supply cables before using the air conditioner.
  • Properly connect the live wire, neutral wire and grounding wire of the power socket.
  • Be sure to cut off the power supply before proceeding with any work related to electricity and safety.
  • Do not put through the power before finishing the installation. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.
  • The temperature of the refrigerant circuit will be high, please keep the interconnection cable away from the copper tube.
  • The appliance shall be installed according to national wiring regulations.
  • Installation must be performed by the requirements of NEC and CEC by authorized personnel only.
  • The air conditioner is the first class electric appliance. It must be properly grounded with a specialized grounding device by a professional. Please make sure it is always grounded effectively, otherwise it may cause electric shock.
  • The yellow-green wire in the air conditioner is a grounding wire, which can’t be used for other purposes.
  • The grounding resistance should comply with national electric safety regulations.
  • The appliance must be positioned so that the plug is accessible.
  • All wires of the indoor unit and outdoor unit should be connected by a professional.
  • If the length of the power connection wire is insufficient, please contact the supplier for a new one. Avoid extending the wire by yourself.
  • For the air conditioner with plug, the plug should be reachable after finishing installation.
  • For the air conditioner without a plug, a circuit break must be installed in the line.
  • If you need to relocate the air conditioner to another place, only a qualified person can perform the work. Otherwise, it may cause personal injury or damage.
  • Select a location that is out of reach for children and far away from animals or plants. If it is unavoidable, please add the fence for safety purposes.
  • The indoor unit should be installed close to the wall

NOTE
It is very important for your customer rights, that you follow your cleaning and service advising thoroughly. If not, you will risk losing your customer rights.

THE REFRIGERANT

  • To realize the function of the air conditioner unit, a special refrigerant circulates in the system. The used refrigerant is the fluoride R32, which is specially cleaned.
  • The refrigerant is flammable and inodorous. Furthermore, it can lead to explosions under certain conditions. However the flammability of the refrigerant is very low. It can be ignited only by fire.
  • Compared to common refrigerants, R32 is a nonpolluting refrigerant with no harm to the ozoneosphere. The influence of the greenhouse effect is also lower. R32 has got very good thermodynamic features which lead to a high energy efficiency. The units therefore need less filling.

WARNING
Do not use means to accelerate the defrosting process or to clean, other than those recommended by the manufacturer. Should repair be necessary, contact your nearest authorized Service Centre. Any repairs carried out by unqualified personnel may be dangerous. The appliance shall be stored in a room without continuously operating ignition sources. (for example open flames, an operating gas appliance or an operating electric heater.) Do not pierce or burn. Appliance filled with flammable gas R32. For repairs, strictly follow the manufacturer’s instructions only. Be aware that refrigerants do not contain odour. Read the specialist’s manual.

HOW TO USE
INTRODUCTION FOR BUTTONS ON REMOTE CONTROLLER

Note

  • This is a general-use remote controller, it could be used for air conditioners with multifunction; For some functions, that the model doesn’t have, if press the corresponding button on the remote controller the unit will keep the original running status.
  • After putting through the power, the air conditioner will give out a sound.
  • Operation indicator “ ” is ON. After that, you can operate the air conditioner by using the remote controller.
  • Under on status, pressing the button on the remote controller, the signal icon “ “ on the display of the remote controller will blink once and the air conditioner will give out a “de” sound, which means the signal has been sent to the air conditioner.
  • As for the models with functions of WiFi or wired controller, the indoor unit must be controlled by a standard remote controller under auto mode first, and then the function of adjustable temperature under auto mode can be realized by APP or the wired controller.
  • This remote controller can adjust the temperature under auto mode. When matching with the unit that is without the function of adjustable temperature under auto mode, the set temperature under auto mode may be invalid, or the displayed set temperature on the unit is not the same as that on the remote controller under auto mode.

ON/OFF button
Press this button, and the unit will be turned on, press it once more, and the unit will be turned off.

MODE button
Press this button to select your required operation mode.

  • When selecting auto mode, the air conditioner will operate automatically according to the ex-factory setting. Press the “FAN” button can adjust the fan speed.

  • Pressing the “ ” / “ “ button can adjust the fan-blowing angle.

  • After selecting cool mode, the air conditioner will operate under cool mode. Press the “UP” or “DOWN” button to adjust the set temperature. Press the “FAN” button to adjust fan speed. Press the “ ” / “ “ button to adjust the fan-blowing angle.

  • When selecting dry mode, the air conditioner operates at low speed under dry mode. Under dry mode, the fan speed can’t be adjusted. Press the “ ” / “ “ button to adjust the fan-blowing angle.

  • When selecting fan mode, the air conditioner will only blow the fan, with no cooling and no heating. All indicators are OFF. Press the “FAN” button to adjust fan speed. Press the “ ” / “ “ button to adjust the fan-blowing angle.

  • When selecting heating mode, the air conditioner operates under heat mode. Press the “UP” or “DOWN” button to adjust the set temperature. Press the “FAN” button to adjust fan speed. Press the “ ” / “ “ button to adjust the fan bl angle. (Cooling-only unit won’t receive heating mode signal. If setting heat mode with the remote controller, pressing the ON/OFF button can’t start up the unit).
    Note:

  • To prevent cold air, after starting up heating mode, an indoor unit will delay 1~5 minutes to blow air (actual delay time depends on indoor ambient temperature).

  • Set temperature range from the remote controller: 16~30°C (61-86°F);

  • Under auto mode, temperature can be displayed; Under auto mode, set temperature can be adjusted.

  • This mode indicator is not available for some models.

FAN button
Press this button, and Auto, Quiet, Low, Medium-low, Medium, Medium-high, and High speed can be circularly selected. After powered on, Auto fan speed is the default.

Note

  • Under AUTO speed, the air conditioner will select the proper fan speed automatically according to the factory default setting.
  • It’s low fan speed under dry mode. X-FAN function: Holding fan speed button for 2s in cool or dry mode, the icon for X-FAN is displayed and the indoor fan will continue operation for a few minutes to dry the indoor unit even though you have turned off the unit. After energization, X-FAN OFF is defaulted. X-FAN is not available in auto, fan or heat mode. This function indicates that moisture on the evaporator of the indoor unit will be blown after the unit is stopped to avoid mould.
  • Having set the X-FAN function on: After turning off the unit by pressing the ON/OFF button, the indoor fan will continue running for a few minutes at low speed. During this period, hold the fan speed button for 2s to stop the indoor fan directly.
  • Having set the X-FAN function off After turning off the unit by pressing the ON/OFF button, the complete unit will be off directly

TURBO button
Under COOL HEAT mode, press this button to turn to quick COOL or quick HEAT mode. The TURBO icon is displayed on the remote controller. Press this button again to exit the turbo function and the TURBO icon will disappear. If this function, the unit will run at super-high fan speed to cool or heat quickly so that the ambient temperature approaches the preset temperature as soon as possible.

UP/DOWN button
Press the UP or DOWN button once an increase or decrease the set temperature to 1 °C (°F). Holding the UP or DOWN button, 2s later, set the temperature on the remote controller will change quickly. On the releasing button, after the setting is finished, the temperature indicator on the indoor unit will change accordingly.

  • When setting T-ON, T-OFF or CLOCK, press the UP or DOWN button to adjust the time. (Refer to CLOCK, T- ON, and T-OFF buttons) button

  • Press this button to set left & right swing angle cycling as below:
    Note:

  • Press this button continuously for more than 2s, and the main unit will swing back and forth from left to right, and then loosen the button, and the unit will stop swinging and the present position of the guide louvre will be kept immediately.

  • Under left and right swing mode, when the status is switched from off to, if press this button again 2s later, the status will switch to off status directly; if press this button again within 2s, the change of swing status will also depend on the circulation sequence stated above.

  • The function is only available for some models. button

  • Press this button to set the swing angle, which circularly changes as below:

  • When selecting “ ”, the air conditioner blows the fan automatically. The horizontal louvre will automatically swing up & down at a maximum angle.

  • When selecting “ ”, the air conditioner is blowing the fan at a fixed position. The horizontal louvre will stop at the fixed position. When selecting “ ”, the air conditioner is blowing the fan at a fixed angle. The horizontal louvre will send air at a fixed angle.

  • Hold the “ ” button above 2s to set your required swing angle. When reaching your required angle, release the button.

Note

  • “ ” may not be available. When the air conditioner receives this signal, the air conditioner will blow the fan automatically.
  • Press this button continuously for more than 2s, the main unit will swing back and forth from up to down, and then loosen the button, the unit’s present position of the guide louvre will be kept immediately.
  • Under up and down swing mode, when the status is switched from off to “ ” if press this button again 2s later, “ ” status will switch to off status directly; if press this button again within 2s, the change of swing status will also depend on the circulation sequence stated above.

TIMER ON button
The “T-ON” button can set the time for the timer. After pressing this button, the “ “ icon disappears and the word “ON” on the remote controller blinks. Press the UP or DOWN button to adjust the T-ON setting. After each pressing on the UP or DOWN button, the T-ON setting will increase or decrease 1min. Hold the UP or DOWN button, and 2s later, the time will change quickly until reaching your required time. Press “T-ON” to confirm it. The word “ON” will stop blinking. “ “ icon resumes displaying. Cancel T-ON: Under the condition that T-ON is started up, press the “T-ON” button to cancel it.

TIMER OFF button
The “T-OFF” button can set the time for the timer off. After pressing this button, the “ “ icon disappears and the word “OFF” on the remote controller blinks. Press the UP or DOWN button to adjust the T-OFF setting. After each pressing on the UP or DOWN button, the T-OFF setting will increase or decrease 1min. Hold the UP or DOWN button, and 2s later, the time will change quickly until reaching your required time. Press the “T- OFF” word “OFF” and will stop blinking. “ “ icon resumes displaying. Cancel  T-OFF. Under the condition that T-OFF is started up, press the “T-OFF” button to cancel it.

Note

  • Under on and off status, you can set T-OFF or T-ON simultaneously.
  • Before setting T-ON or T-OFF, please adjust the clock time.
  • After starting up T-ON or T-OFF, set the constant circulating valid.
  • After that, the air conditioner will be turned on or turned off according to the setting time. The ON/OFF button does not affect the setting. If you don’t need this function, please use the remote controller to cancel it.

FEEL button

  • Press this button to start the I FEEL function and the I FEEL icon will be displayed on the remote controller. After this function is set, the remote controller will send the detected ambient temperature to the controller and the unit will automatically adjust the indoor temperature according to the detected temperature. Press this button again to cancel the I FEEL function and the icon will disappear.
  • Please put the remote controller near the user when this function is set. Do not put the remote controller near the object of high temperature or low temperature to avoid detecting inaccurate ambient temperature. When the I FEEL function is turned on, the remote controller should be put within the area where the indoor unit can receive the signal sent by the remote controller.

CLOCK button
Press this button to set the clock time. “ “ icon on the remote controller will blink. Press the UP or DOWN button within 5s to set the clock time. With each pressing of the UP or DOWN button, the clock time will increase or decrease by 1 minute. If hold the UP or DOWN button, 2s later, the time will change quickly. Release this button when reaching your required time. Press the “CLOCK” button to confirm the time. “ “ icon stops blinking.

Note

  • Clock time adopts 24-hour mode.
  • The interval between two operations can’t exceed 5s. Otherwise, the remote controller will quit setting status.
  • Operation for TIMER ON/TIMER OFF is the same.

SLEEP button
Press this button, can select Sleep 1 ( ), Sleep 2 ( ), Sleep 3 ( ) and cancel the Sleep, circulate between these, after electrified, Sleep Cancel is defaulted. Sleep 1 is Sleep mode 1, in Cool mode; sleep status after running for one hour, the main unit setting temperature will increase by 1, two hours, setting temperature increased by 2 °C, then the unit will run at this setting temperature; In Heat mode: sleep status after run for one hour, the setting temperature will decrease 1, two hours, setting temperature will decrease 2, then the unit will run at this setting temperature. Sleep 2 is sleep mode 2, that is air conditioner will run according to the presetting a group of sleep temperature curves.

Sleep 3 – the sleep curve setting under
Sleep mode by DIY:

  1. Under Sleep 3 mode, press the “Turbo” button for a long time, remote controller enters into user’s individuation sleep setting status, at this time, the time of the remote controller will display “1 hour”, and the setting temperature “88” will display the corresponding temperature of last setting sleep curve and blink (the first entering will display according to the initial curve setting value of original factory);

  2. Adjust the “UP” and “DOWN” buttons, and could change the corresponding setting temperature, after adjusting, press the “Turbo” button for confirmation;

  3. At this time, 1 hour will be automatically increased at the timer postion on the remote controller, (that are “2 hours” or “3hours” or “8 hours”), and the place of setting temperature “88” will display the corresponding temperature of the last setting sleep curve and blink;

  4. Repeat the above step (2)~(3) operation, until the 8-hour temperature setting is finished, and the sleep curve setting is finished, at this time, the remote controller will resume the original timer display; the temperature display will resume to the original setting temperature.

  5. Sleep 3 – the sleep curve setting under Sleep mode by DIY could be inquired: The user could accord to sleep curve setting method to inquire the presetting sleep curve, enter into user individuation sleep setting status, but do not change the tem-perature, press “Turbo” button directly for confirmation.
    Note: In the above presetting or enquiry procedure, if continuously within 10s there is no button pressed, the sleep curve setting status will automatically quit and resume to display the original displaying. In the presetting or enquiry procedure, press the “ON/OFF” button, “Mode” button, “Timer” button or “Sleep” button, and the sleep curve setting or enquiry status will be quite similar. WIFI button

  6. Press the “Wifi” button to turn on the WiFi function, “ Wifi “ icon will be displayed on the remote controller; Hold the “Wifi” button for 5s to turn off the WiFi function and the “Wifi” icon will disappear. (This function is only available for some models.)
    Under off status, press the “MODE” and “WiFi” buttons simultaneously for 1s, WiFi module will restore factory settings.

HEALTH MODE / SCAVENGING function
Press this button to turn on or turn off the health and scavenging functions in operation status. Press this button for the first time to start the scavenging function; LCDs a SCAVENGING icon. Press the button for the second time to start a health and scavenging function; LCDs the SCAVENGING icon and HEALTH icon. Press this button for the third time to quit health and scavenging functions simultaneously. Press the button for the fourth time to start the health function; LCD the HEALTH icon. Press this button again to repeat the operation above.

The function is only available for some models.

LIGHT button
Press this button to turn on or turn off the display light on the indoor unit. The display light is defaulted on after energization.

TEMP button
Press this button, you can see the indoor set temperature and indoor ambient temperature on the indoor unit’s display.

Energy-saving function
Under cooling mode, press the “TEMP” and “CLOCK” buttons simultaneously to start up or turn off the energy-saving function. When the energy-saving function is started up, “SE” will be shown on the remote controller, and the air conditioner will adjust the set temperature automatically according to the ex-factory setting to reach the best energy-saving effect. Press the “TEMP” and “CLOCK” buttons simultaneously again to exit the energy-saving function.

Note

  • Under the energy-saving function, the fan speed defaults to auto speed and it can’t be adjusted.
  • Under the energy-saving function, the set temperature can’t be adjusted. Press the “TURBO” button and the remote controller won’t send a signal.
  • Sleep function and energy-saving function can’t operate at the same time.
  • If an energy-saving function has been set under the cool mode, pressing the 11SLEEP11 button will cancel the energy-saving function. If the sleep function has been set under cool mode, starting up the energy-saving function will cancel the sleep function.

8°C Heating Function
Under heat mode, press the “TEMP” and “CLOCK” buttons simultaneously to start up or turn off the 8 C heating function. When this function is started up, “ ” and “8C” will be shown on the remote controller, and the air conditioner keep the heating status at 8C. Press the “TEMP” and “CLOCK” buttons simultaneously again to exit the 8C heating function.

Note

  • Under the 8C heating function, the fan speed defaults to auto speed and it can’t be adjusted.
  • Under the 8C heating function, the set temperature can’t be adjusted. Press the “TURBO” button and the remote controller won’t send a signal.
  • The sleep function and 8C heating function can’t operate at the same time. If the 8C heating function has been set under heat mode, pressing the “SLEEP” button will cancel the 8C heating function.
  • If the sleep function has been set under heat mode, starting up the 8 C heating function will cancel the sleep function.
  • Under the F temperature display, the remote controller will display 46F heating.

Child lock function
Press UP and DOWN simultaneously to turn on or turn off the child lock function. When the child lock function is on, the” ” icon is displayed on the remote controller. If you operate the remote controller, the ” ” icon will blink three times without sending a signal to the unit.

Temperature display switchover function
Under OFF status, press the DOWN and ”MODE” buttons simultaneously to switch the temperature display between °C and °F.

Autoclean function
Under unit off status, hold the “MODE” and “FAN” buttons simultaneously for 5s to turn on or turn off the auto clean function. When the auto clean function is turned on, the indoor unit displays “CL”. During the auto-clean process of the evaporator, the unit will perform fast cooling or fast heating. There may be some noise, which is the sound of flowing liquid thermal expansion or cold shrinkage. The air conditioner may blow cool or warm air, which is a normal phenomenon. During the cleaning process, please make sure the room is well- ventilated to avoid affecting the comfort.

Note

  • The auto clean function can only work under normal ambient temperature.
  • If the room is dusty, clean it once a month; if not, clean it once every three months. After the auto clean function is turned on, you can leave the room.
  • When auto clean is finished, the air conditioner will enter standby status.
  • This function is only available for some models.

Night mode
Under cooling or heating mode, when turning on sleep mode and turning to low speed or quiet notch, the outdoor unit would enter into night mode.

Note

  • When you feel that the cooling and heating effect is poor, please press ´the” FAN” button to other fan speeds or press the “SLEEP” button to exit the night mode.
  • The night mode can only work under normal ambient temperature.
  • This function is only available for some models.

function

  • Press the “MODE” and “SLEEP” buttons simultaneously to start the function. function is for limiting the power of the whole unit. Press this button, the remote controller will circus- early display the following
  • The maximum power limited under the mode is lower than that of the mode.wilfa-NARVIK-30-Heat-Pump-FIG \(22\)
  • If you want to cancel the power limiting function, press the button till the icon in the remote control seller is displayed.
  • When the remote controller is turned off, the power limiting function is cancelled. If you want to activate the function, please repress this button.
  • If the current power is lower than the maximum power of the mode, then the power will not be limited after entering into such mode.
  • For the model with one outdoor unit and two indoor units, if any one of the indoor units enters into the power limiting function, the outdoor unit will enter into the set limiting power mode of the indoor unit; when two indoor units enter into power limiting mode, then the power of outdoor unit will be limited according to the lower power of the two indoor units.

This function is only available for some models.

REPLACEMENT OF BATTERIES IN REMOTE CONTROLLER

  1. Lift the cover along the direction of the arrow (as shown in Fig 1 O).
  2. Take out the original batteries (as shown in Fig 1 ®).
  3. Place two 7# (AAA 1.5V) dry batteries, and make sure the position of ” + ” polar and ” -” polar is correct (as shown in Fig 2 ®).
  4. Reinstall the cover (as shown in Fig 2 0).

Note

  • During operation, point the remote control signal sender at the receiving window on the indoor unit.
  • The distance between the signal sender and receiving window should be no more than 8m, and there should be no obstacles between them.
  • Signals may be interfered with easily in the room where there is a fluorescent lamp or wireless telephone; the remote controller should be close to the indoor unit during operation.
  • Replace new batteries of the same model when replacement is required.
  • When you don’t use the remote controller for a long time, please take out the batteries.
  • If the display on the remote controller is fuzzy or there’s no display, please replace the batteries.

GUARANTEE

Your purchase receipt works as proof towards the retailer if claiming your guarantee. The guarantee is valid only for products that are bought and used in private households. The guarantee is not valid if the product is used commercially. The guarantee is not valid if the product is misused, used by negligence, if not following instructions given by Wilfa, if modified or if unauthorized reparation is done. The guarantee is also not valid for normal wear of the product, misuse, lack of maintenance, use of wrong electrical voltage or:

  • Overloading of product
  • Parts which are normally worn down
  • Parts you can expect to be replaced regularly (e.g. filter, battery etc.)
