avi-on Qualifying 0-10v Drivers
Instruction For Use
Why qualify your assembled fixture combination for use with Avi-on controls?
- Pre-qualification enables smooth site installation with no surprise “non-dimming” fixtures
- Avi-on LVFAs (low-voltage fixture adaptors) require 0-10v dim-to-off drivers, and despite what the label says, driver manufacturers often substitute or mix lots in a shipment
- Do not trust labels on 0-10v fixtures and drivers. Always pre-qualify before purchase, and re-qualify each shipment of fixtures/drivers that you receive
- Avi-on’s software sends smooth dimming commands at all levels of the dimming curve. However, at low dimming levels, not all fixture + driver combinations can respond correctly to 0-10v dimming signals, particularly if using the driver’s auxiliary power supply
How to qualify your fixture + driver (+ sensor + antenna) combination with Avi-on LVFA Peel & Place QR Sticker on the Top/Sack. of Fixture
- Note the Last 4-digits of the MAC address on the sticker. This will be the “Device Name on the App
- See separate instructions for details
Assemble & Power Fixture + Driver + Avi-on Controller (+ Sensor + External Antenna)
- Take care to wire any low voltage correctly. Low voltage power wires are usually red & black. 0-10V dimming are gray (-) & purple (+); CCT are gray (-) and orange (+)
- Assemble the fixture as though it were to be installed, including all controls components
- Install the Avi-on controller at least 3-4 inches from LED driver using wiring diagrams shown at Avi-on.com/Resources or scan the OR code at right >>>
- Connect any Direct Connect sensors that will be powered from the same source as the controller
- Install any external antenna so that it is ‘floating” freely and is near a vent, pull it through the vent. if possible
See 1 -channel fixture production assembly instructions, as well as antenna instructions, for more details

Unclaimed or claimed? Where is the username password for this project?
-
For shipments sent “unclaimed” (no warehouse setup), ask the Project Manager for access to the project location
-
If the shipment was sent “claimed” (setup), use the location that is provided in the shipping documentation
-
If there is no location, use the Commissioning App to register a NEW Avi-on Account and then create a NEW location to use for the specific project
-
Your account email must be validated during registration., Use the Commissioning App to register/verify the
account -
Whole Locations can be transferred to new Location managers, however moving individual devices requires
REMOVAL with the App -
Locations can be transferred to a different VALID user by logging in at Location.Avi-on.com.
-
To move devices to a different Avi-on location, use the Commissioning App to REMOVE them
-
Factory reset is NOT recommended. See separate instructions
-
How to Match Your MAC QR Code to the Device Name on the App & Test your Fixture
-
Login to the Avi-on Commissioning App. Use the info above to access the project location
-
Find your test device on the App. Match the MAC address on the Avi-on QR sticker on the OUTSIDE of the fixture to the Device Name in the Avi-on Commissioning App
a) Go the the DEVICES menu on the Avi-on Commissioning App
b) Note the MAC address on the fixture’s Avi-on QR code sticker
c) Select Device being tested with the Name that matches the MAC address on the fixture’s QR Code Sticker
-
Verify dim-to-off. Using the dimming “slider” on the Mobile Commissioning App, verify that the LED driver dims to FULL OFF (additional dim-to-off driver test procedure is in LVFA wiring section above)
Verify dimming meets project needs. Using the dimming “slider,” verify that the dimming meets the needs of the use case- LVFA powered by fixture: The auxiliary power supplies of some LED drivers can put feedback into their own dimming circuit, causing dimming to look choppy. The solution is to add an external 12v power supply AVI-PS-277-12-250

Fixture not working?
Check that all connections are secure Check that the purple & gray wires are not swapped
Choppy dimming with LVFA?
Add 12v auxiliary power source AVI-PS-277-12-250
Claimed or unclaimed? Get it right BEFORE you ship
- If devices were pre-claimed (setup)…then leave them added to the Avi-on location
- If devices were unclaimed (no setup)…use Avi-on Commissioning App to REMOVE from location (instructions below)
How to Remove Avi-on Devices?
How to Remove Avi-on Devices from the Project location Device must be POWERED and you must be nearby within Bluetooth range
Step A) Select the Device that you want to remove and hit the arrow next
to the device(s)| S tep B) Select the device you want removed. Hit the 3
dots| Step C) Double check that you have the correct device and hit
