Product Usage Instructions

Mounting the IFA:

  1. Select a suitable listed junction box for installation.
  2. Determine the size of the junction box according to the National Electrical Code (NEC) or Canadian Electric Code, Part 1 (CEC), and the product size of 15334.823.1mm.
  3. Follow the included wiring diagram to connect the IFA, lighting driver, and lights.
  4. Double-check the wiring before closing the junction box.

Disconnecting or Connecting the Terminal Head:
To disconnect or connect the terminal head, press it back firmly.

FAQs

  • Q: Can I use the AVI-IFAC-5A device without connecting a sensor?
    A: Yes, it is not necessary to connect a sensor for normal use of the AVI- IFAC-5A device.

  • Q: What type of sensors can be used with the AVI-IFAC-5A device?
    A: Avi-on provides both Passive IP (AVI-DC-PIR) and Microwave (AVI-DC-MW) Sensors that can be used with or without ALS Capabilities.

INSTALLING YOUR IFA

  1. Installation work and electrical wiring must be done by a qualified person(s) by all applicable codes and standards, including fire-rated construction.
  2. A suitable listed junction box shall be provided during installation.
  3. Size of the junction box is to be determined by the National Electrical Code (NEC) (ANSI/NFPA 70), or Canadian Electric Code, Part 1 (CEC), and the product size is 15334.823.1 mm.
  4. Mounting screws are not provided. Secure the FA to the junction box firmly with screws.
  5. The junction box may be located on a wall or ceiling surface adjacent to the light fixture.
  6. Connect FA, Lighting driver and Lights according to the included wiring diagram.
  7. Double-check the wiring before closing the junction box.
  8. WARNING: RISK OF FIRE AND ELECTRIC SHOCK – Never attempt to alter, modify or destroy a lighting fixture to wire the IFA.

Note: Sensor interface can be connected to Avi-on Direct Connect Sensors. This product could be divided into two versions – general and high configuration: general configuration will not be equipped with sensor subassembly, high configuration is equipped with sensor. Note: The AVI-IFAC-5A device comes equipped with a sensor connector for use with external sensors.
