When first using your Hearing Amplifier

First, you will need to start by installing the battery as shown below

  • Open the battery compartment by carefully flipping out the battery holder. Remove the protective film from the replacement battery and place the battery into the battery holder with the plus symbol facing up. Close the battery door by clicking it shut.
  • Next you will need to install the earpiece. An earpiece may already be installed. If the pre-installed earpiece is not the correct size for you, remove it by carefully pulling it away from the Hearing Amplifier. Choose the correct size and install by pushing on to the Hearing Amplifier.

Placing your hearing amplifier on your ear.

Firstly, ensure your hearing amplifier is turned to the lowest volume to avoid damaging your ear. Place the earpiece into your ear canal. Do this slowly and gently and do not insert it too far into your ear canal, again, to avoid damaging your edr.
Once the earpiece is in your ear, slide the back part of the hearing amplifier Over your ear until it feels comfortable and secure.

To remove your hearing amplifier

Lift the back part of the hearing amplifier over your ear and carefully remove the earpiece.

Switching on your hearing amplifier

Your hearing amplifier can be switched on by sliding the power button on the back part of the hearing aid to the ‘N’ position. To switch the amplifier off slide the power button to the ‘O position.

Adjusting the volume of your hearing amplifier

To adjust the volume, rotate the volume control up or down to the desired volume. We recommend by starting with the lowest volume setting and slowly adjusting it up. If you are getting feedback or distortion, try reducing the volume.

Maintenance & Cleaning

For hygiene reasons and to prolong the life of your hearing amplifier it should be cleaned daily. You can clean the silicone earpiece by removing it from the hearing amplifier and cleaning it in warm water. Be sure completely dry the silicone earpiece before reattaching it. All other parts of the hearing amplifier can be cleaned with special cleaning wipes or soft, dry tissue.

DO NOT PLACE ANY OTHER PART EXCEPT THE SILICONE EARPIECE INTO WATER

Storing your hearing amplifier

If you choose not to use your Hearing Amplifier for any period of time, ensure the battery is removed and keep it in its case in a dry location. A bedside drawer or kitchen cabinet is perfect.

Troubleshooting

Problem Solution
My hearing amplifier isn’t working? Ensure your hearing amplifier is turned

on, that the battery is installed correctly and that the

battery compartment is completely closed.

My hearing amplifier is making a beeping noise?| This is because the battery is running out. Replace it as soon as possible.
The sound coming from my hearing

amplifier is distorted?

| Start by cleaning the earpiece.

If the problem still persists, try decreasing the volume level and the finally replace the battery.

I’m getting very weak sound from my hearing amplifier?| Try removing the battery and replacing. If this doesn’t work, try cleaning the earpiece then replacing the battery.

Contraindication

This hearing amplifier should not be used if you suffer from any of the following conditions:

  • Chronic suppurative otitis media
  • Congenital ear atresia

Warnings

This hearing amplifier contains small parts. Keep the hearing amplifier, batteries and accessories out of reach of children and adults at risk. If any parts of this hearing amplifier, including batteries and accessories, are swallowed please consult a medical practitioner immediately. Keep your hearing amplifier away from liquids, strong electromagnetic fields, heat sources and avoid dropping it onto hard surfaces. If any parts of your hearing amplifier get stuck in your ear, consult a medical practitioner immediately and do not attempt to remove the part yourself. Always remove the battery for long periods of inactivity. Batteries are harmful when swallowed. Always store batteries out of reach of children. This hearing amplifier should not be used by children under 12 years old.

Cautions

Do not use the hearing amplifier at a high volume for extended periods of time. If at any time the hearing amplifier becomes uncomfortable or starts to cause pain to any part of your ear, stop using it immediately. It is important to ensure your hearing aid is maintained well and kept clean. Please dispose of batteries responsibly. Keep your hearing aid away from children at all times. Do not attempt to disassemble or repair your hearing amplifier as doing so will void your manufacturer’s warranty. If your hearing amplifier develops a fault, please contact the retailer. Do not use your hearing amplifier in conjunction with a mobile phone as the radio wave emissions from a mobile phone can cause loud audio interference in your hearing amplifier that could cause damage to your ears.
