Installation and Opera t ing Instructions
INSTALLATION
Congratulations – Thank you for purchasing the Audiovox Rampage Bass Sub-
Woofer. Please read the folowing instruction sheet carefully to obtain the
best results.
The Rampage Bass Sub-Woofer is designed to operate with your exist- ing car
stereo system. It has its’ own built-in amplifier so hook-up is easy.
The Rampage Bass Sub-Woofer can be mounted to any reasonably flat surface m
the hatchback or trunk area ot your vehicle. Since the bass output is non-
directional, the speaker does not need to “point” toward the passenger area
for optimum perfor- mance, however the area behind the port should have at
least 4° of free space around it, as this :s the place where sound exits the
speaker.
Always use caution when drilling holes, as the danger of drilling into
existing vehicle wiring, braces, fuel or brake lines is possible. CHECK BEFORE
YOU ORILL! (See Figure A)
WIRING
There are 4 connections necessary for proper operation of the BA-1 00.

- 12 Volt (12V): Connect this wire to a source of + 12 volts which does not turn off with the ignition key. It may also be connected directly to the positive (+) terminal of the battery.
- Ground (GND): Secure this wire using a screw or bolt on a grounded metal surface of the vehicle. Clean away any rust, dirt or paint from the surface to make sure a good connec tion is made.
- Speaker Input Positive (SPK +): Splice this wire to the wire going to the Rositive (+) terminal of the speaker that you have chosen (sometimes indicated by a red dot).
- Speaker Input Negative (SPK -): Splice this wire to the wire going to the negative (-) terminal of the speaker that you have chosen.
This completes the wiring of the BA-100. Re-check all connections to make sure they are secure.
OPERATION
Operation of the Rampage Bass Sub-Woofer is simple. If wired correctly, the amplifier will automatically be activated when the car stereo is turned on. Adjust the volume control of the stereo system to a normal listening level. Adjust the Gain control on the Rampage Bass Sub-Woofer up or down to achieve the level of bass desired and match the output of the unit to that of the rest of your system. Once the proper setting of the Gain control is found, it should be left at that position and no further adjustment of the system is necessary.
