ARCHITECT’S & ENGINEER’S SPECIFICATION (available on floppy disk)

The stereo preamp/mixer shall provide five unbalanced stereo line inputs and two differentially balanced mono mic/line inputs. Each stereo line input shall include a rear panel screwdriver adjustable level control, and shall be capable of accepting either -1 0dB or +4dB signals. Inputs 1 ~3 shall be provided on RCA connectors, while Inputs 4 & 5 shall be provided on plug-in barrier strip. Stereo line input selection, including associated tone and balance settings, shall be via remote control. Additional rear panel screw terminals shall allow override selection of Input 5 via contact-closure and/or signal activation. Input 5 shall include a selectable internal 30dB pad, allowing direct input from distributed speaker lines. The mic/line inputs shall have 52dB of gain, and shall include rear panel screwdriver adjustable 40dB trim controls, 30dB pad switches, peak indicators, insert points, and +24V phantom power switches. The mic/line inputs shall be provided on plug-in barrier strips, with additional screw terminals provided for page-over ducking of stereo line input signals via contact-closure and/or signal activation. Independent adjustment of level and muting for each mic/line input shall be via remote control.

Two independent balanced stereo outputs shall be provided on plug-in barrier strips. Each stereo output shall include a rear panel switch for mono operation, and a built-in stereo limiter with a rear panel screwdriver adjustable threshold control and indicator. Independent adjustment of source, level, and muting for each stereo output shall be via remote control. Each output shall have four nonvolatile memory presets, which allow storage and recall of adjustment settings via remote control. A combining mode, selectable via remote control, shall cause the two outputs to function together. A front panel display shall indicate preset, stereo source, mic/line input, and relative level for each output. An external display panel shall be optional. Rear panel connectors shall accept infrared, wall-mount, custom, and/or third- party remote control options. A rear panel serial port shall allow computer control and configuration via an IBM compatible personal computer. Windows® 95 software and a serial cable shall be included.

The stereo preamp/mixer shall have a Frequency Response of +0/-2dB from 20Hz to 20kHz at +4dBu. THO+ Noise shall be less than 0.05% from 20Hz to 20kHz at +4dBu. Output Noise shall be less than -75dBu from 20Hz to 20kHz at nominal levels. Mic/Line Equivalent Input Noise shall be less than -127dBu. Power Consumption shall be less than 18 Watts. Dimensions shall be 3.5 inches high (2 rack spaces), 19 inches wide, and 7.5 inches deep. Weight shall be 8.5 lbs. Warranty coverage shall be 5 years. The unit shall be CE marked with a UL/ C-UL listed power source, and shall incorporate AES recommended grounding practices.

The stereo preamp/mixer shall be an ADVANTAGE® SPM522D
