PRECAUTIONS

Important Safety Symbols

Symbols

The above warning is located on the rear of the unit.

The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated “dangerous voltage” within the product’s enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock to persons.

The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the product.

Important Safety Instructions
  • Read these instructions
  • Keep these instructions
  • Heed all warning
  • Follow all instructions

Water and Moisture
The apparatus should be protected from moisture and rain and can not be used near water; for example near a bathtub, a kitchen sink, a swimming pool, etc.

Heat
The apparatus should be located away from heat sources such as radiators, stoves or other appliances that produce heat.

Ventilation
Do not obstruct the ventilation opening areas. This could cause damage. Always install according to the manufacturer’s instruction.

Object and Liquid Entry
Objects should not fall and liquids should not be spilled into the inside of the apparatus for safety. Please do NOT insert any finger into any gap or opening of the device.

Power Cord and Plug
Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two poles; a grounding-type plug has two poles and a third grounding terminal. The third prong is provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, refer to an electrician for replacement.

Power Supply
The apparatus should be connected to the power supply only of the type as marked on the apparatus or described in the manual. Failure to do so could result in damage to the product and possibly the user. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.

Fuse
To prevent the risk of fire and damage to the unit, please use only the recommended fuse type as described in the manual. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the unit is turned off and disconnected from the AC outlet.

Electrical Connection
Make sure that the unit is unplugged from the mains before making any connection. Please turn the volume to its minimum level before the device is powered ON or OFF. Improper electrical wiring may invalidate the product warranty.

Cleaning
Clean only with a dry cloth. Do not use any solvents such as benzene or alcohol as they may damage the surface.

Servicing
Do not implement any servicing other than those means described in the manual.
Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel only. Only use accessories/attachments or parts recommended by the manufacturer.

Our products are subject to a continuous process of further development. Therefore modifications to the technical features remain subject to change without further notice.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Increasingly, high sound quality is required even in previously not-so- performing sound systems. Bars, restaurants, pubs, stores today use sound- music, video games, home cinema, etc. – not only as a simple background, but as a real marketing tool, where sound quality is an important ingredient.

This subwoofer is designed to be placed in spaces that are normally not sufficient to place a subwoofer; but despite their slim look, housing volume, and high-excursion woofer, they deliver bass that is truly worthy of much larger systems.

The built-in Class-AB amplifier is stable, designed for long-term use and equipped with an auto-power function (to reduce power consumption), limiter, thermal and overload protection. In addition to the stereo line input, there is also a stereo power input (low impedance) that allows direct connection to amplifier outputs or speakers of an existing system, which is very practical if distances or other factors do not allow traditional connections to the mixer or link outputs of an amplifier.

Features

  • Bass-Reflex 8” and 10” Powered Subwoofer
  • Designed for Floor use
  • Class-AB Amplifiers with 100W or 200W Power
  • Stereo Line Inputs and Stereo High-Level Inputs
  • Adjustable Crossover Frequency from 40Hz to 150Hz
  • Slim, stylish yet rugged housing with Black finish

Product Appearance

  1. Volume Level Knob
This knob controls the overall volume level of the subwoofer.

  2. Low-pass Filter Knob
This rotary control adjusts the crossover frequency between the subwoofer and the main speakers between 40Hz and 150Hz. The subwoofer handles all the frequencies below the crossover frequency.

  3. Phase Toggle Switch
This switch allows you to set the phase of the subwoofers’ output signal at 0° or 180°, to correct for a possible mismatch in phase, which can result in cancellation between the subwoofer and the main speakers.
Depending on the location of your subwoofer, the sound that reaches your ideal listening location could be out of phase with the sound from the rest of the system. If the bass sounds out of time, muddy or attenuated, try flipping the phase to the other position. The default position, which provides the best bass sound most of the time, is with the phase set to .

  4. Power Mode Toggle Switch (LOUNGE-8A)
This 3-way switch controls the power status of the subwoofer:
    Product Appearance

    • ON: The unit stays on regardless of whether an input signal is present or not

    • AUTO: The unit automatically enters Stand-by mode after about 2 minutes without input signal, and will turn back on when a signal is detected

    • OFF: The unit stays off regardless of whether an input signal is present or not
Note: The Power Switch (6) must be in the ON position for the Auto Stand- by function to operate.
4.2 Power Mode Toggle Switch (LOUNGE-10A)
This 2-way switch controls the power status of the subwoofer:
      Product Appearance

    • ON: The unit stays on regardless of whether an input signal is present or not

    • AUTO: The unit automatically enters Standby mode after about 2 minutes without input signal, and will turn back on when a signal is detected
Note: The Power Switch (6) must be in the ON position for the Auto Standby function to operate.

  5. Line/Sub RCA Inputs
This inputs accept a full range line level signal from a pre-amplifier output of a receiver or amplifier. This full range signal is then amplified and processed to power the subwoofer.
If your amplifier, or audio-video receiver, has a dedicated subwoofer output (usually labeled SUB or LFE), use a mono RCA cable to connect it to the (L) left input of the subwoofer:
    Product Appearance
Alternatively, if your amp does not have a dedicated subwoofer output, but does have a pre-amplifier output, use a stereo RCA cable to connect it to the L and R inputs of the subwoofer:
    Product Appearance

  6. Power Switch
Use this switch to turn the subwoofer ON or OFF. If you are using the AUTO Stand-by feature, this switch should be left in the ON position.

  7. High-Level Stereo Inputs
If your amplifier lacks both a dedicated subwoofer output or pre-amplifier output, connect the stereo speaker outputs on your amplifier to the High-Level Stereo Inputs of the subwoofer using 2 speaker wires as shown below:
    Product Appearance
Note: This is the least favored method of connecting the subwoofer.
Note: Please make sure that there polarity is not inverted (+ connected to -). If the polarity is reversed, the sound will be unnatural and will play without bass.
Note: Anytime you note distortion, reduce the volume to a lower level.
Never allow the subwoofer to be driven into “clipping”, otherwise it may be damaged. Damage caused by operating the subwoofer at distorted volume levels is not covered by the warranty.

  8. VDE Socket with Fuse Holder
Power connector for mains power, combined with fuse holder. Plug the power cord (included) into an AC socket properly configured for your particular model.
Note: If you happen to lose the AC line-cord, always use a three-pin plug with a ground pin. The wire correspondence is as follows: Cable| Pin| International
    ---|---|---
    Brown| Live| L
    Blue| Neutral| N
    Yellow/Green| Earth|

ATTENTION: Always connect the earth! Pay attention to your safety! Before taking into operation for the first time, the installation has to be approved by an expert.
In case of fuse burn, to prevent the risk of fire and damaging the unit, use only the same type of fuse that is written on the device or check paragraph “5.1. Specifications” at page 13.
