IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

READ AND SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS!
CONSERVER CES INSTRUCTIONS!

  • Contains switched receptacle(s). To reduce risk of shock , disconnect the device from the power source before servicing any connected equipment

  • Do not overload the wall outlet where this device is being connected. Do not overload this device. Ensure the total load to this device does not exceed that which is listed in the specifications section of this manual.

  • Ensure this device is connected to a properly grounded AC power source.
Ensure the device is plugged into a source providing the required 120V. Do not use a plug adapter that defeats the ground pin of the AC plug

  • There are no user-serviceable components within this device. Removal of the cover from this device may present a shock hazard, and void the warranty

  • To be used indoors in a dry location only

  • Do not operate with a damaged cord or plug

  • Clean only with dry cloth

DANGER HAZARDOUS VOLTAGE/DANGER HAUTE TENSION
The lightning flash with the arrowhead symbol, within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated dangerous voltage within the product’s enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock to  persons.

CAUTION
The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the appliance.

WARNING! Failure to read, understand and follow the following information can result in serious personal injury, damage to the equipment or voiding of the warranty.
WARNING! This equipment is not intended to be used in conjunction with life support systems or life saving devices.
WARNING! Do not install a 3-to-2 prong adapter or defeat the grounding capability of the three-wire grounded-type AC plug.
WARNING! Do not place power cord in high traffic areas (e.g. hallways, doorways, etc) or where placement would create a trip hazard.
CAUTION – Do not install this device near high heat sources such as stoves, radiators, wall heaters or inside any enclosed space without adequate ventilation.
CAUTION – Ungrounded power systems are inherently unstable and can produce excessively high line-to-ground voltages during certain fault conditions. During these fault conditions any electrical equipment, including an SPD, may be subjected to voltages which exceed their designed ratings. This information is being provided to the user so that an informed decision can be made before installing any electrical equipment on an ungrounded power system.
CAUTION: Do not install this device if there is not at least 10 meters (30 feet) or more of wire between the electrical outlet and the electrical service panel.
For all models except PD-HW15-SP:

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE
The product meets the requirements of the following standards:

  • UL 1283 and UL 1449, 3rd Ed.
  • CSA C22.2 No.8-M1986, R2000

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Compliance Statement
NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation.  This equipment generates uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in  a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following  measures:

  • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
  • Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
  • Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
  • Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

Industry Canada (IC) Compliance Statement
This Class B digital apparatus complies with Canadian ICES-003.

INTRODUCTION

Available in 15A or 20A models, and in rackmount, half-rack or hard-wired form factors (15A only), Series Protection™ products provide instantaneous protection of AV systems against damaging surges without contaminating system ground, while also  providing automatic recovery after both over- and under- voltage events.
All models are 100% MOV-free and utilize all non-degrading and no sacrificial components.
