IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must never play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must never be carried out by children without supervision.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Keep the appliance and the cable cord out of the reach of children less than 8 years old.
- WARNING: In order to ensure your children‘s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes,0 polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.
- If the supply cord is damaged it must be repaired by the Authorized Service Agent.
- Never pull on the cord when unplugging.
- Do not use the unit with a damaged cord or plug, or if it is not working properly.
- Do not handle the appliance with wet hands.
- Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
- Make sure the appliance has been unplugged before cleaning.
- This appliance must be installed following the national regulations for electrical installations.
- This appliance is for household use only.

- The electrical safety of the appliance is guaranteed only if it is connected to an efficient earth, as provided in the electrical safety regulations in force. The manufacturer shall not be held responsible for damage or injury arising from a lack of earth. If in any doubt, contact a professionally qualified person.
- We do not advise the use of adaptors, or extension plugs or leads. If such items are essential, use only simple or multiple adaptors and extension leads which comply with the safety regulations in force, taking care not to exceed the power limit indicated on the adaptor and/or extension lead.
- Make sure that your outlet voltage corresponds to the voltage stated on the rating label of the coffee maker.
- Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surface.
- Do not use appliance for other than intended use and place it in a dry environment.
- Do not leave the coffee maker unattended while it is operating, the appliance cannot be operated by children.
- Be careful not to get burned by the steam.
- Do not touch hot surface. Use handles or knobs only.
- Never use the appliance if the jar shows any signs of cracks. Only use the jar with this appliance. Use carefully as the jar is very fragile.
- Never use your coffee maker without water in it.
- Stand the appliance on a table or flat surface.
- CAUTION: The surface can remain hot during and after use.
- WARNING: The filling opening must not be opened during use.
USING THE MACHINE FOR THE FIRST TIME
- Remove the packaging and make sure that it is not placed near to children reach.
- Clean the detachable parts following the instructions of the part “Cleaning and Maintenance”.
- Plug the device to the power.
- Before making coffee you should use the coffee maker several times only with water (without coffee).
MAKING COFFEE
- Turn water tank cover (1) counter-clockwise to open. Then use the graduated jar (18) to fill the water tank according to the cups to prepare (min 2 cups, max 4 cups).
- Note: Always switch off power and remove plug from wall outlet before filling water. Ensure water will not overflow water tank.
- Turn clockwise water tank cover tightly.
- Place permanent filter into filter holder and fill filter with coffee powder according to your desire by measuring spoon (marked with 2 and 4 cups) and tamp down coffee powder. Then remove excessive powder on the top rim.
- Assemble the filter holder into coffee maker as follows: first align mouth of filter holder with sprinkling mouth at the position, handle of filter holder in left position. Then turn filter holder clockwise until handle locates in the position of unit. Make sure that filter holder is secured firmly.
- Place jar on drip tray and ensure the central of lid aligns with the spout of filter holder, then turn switch to position and power indicator will be illuminated. Brewed coffee will begin flowing into jar after approx. 3 minutes; it will take aprox.5 minutes to make 4 cups of espresso coffee.
- Note 1: to avoid any splashing, do not detach the filter holder while the machine is dispensing coffee.
- Note 2: Never touch the surface of front stainless steel during brewing coffee.
- After brewing coffee have been complete, remove jar from drip tray and dispense coffee into cups. Now you can enjoy espresso coffee.
- IMPORTANT: Before taking filter holder down, always release the pressure in water tank as follows: turn the switch to the “OFF” position. Steam will escape from steam tube. When the remained pressure is released completely and filter holder is cooled down, remove filter holder by turning clockwise.
- Remove the coffee residues in the rubbish box. Turn over permanent filter hook, then press it by thumb to make permanent filter firm, tilt filter holder and tap it over the rubbish box. Then clear out residue, wash filter holder and permanent filter in fresh water and reassemble them correctly.
- Return filter hook to original position before reattaching the filter holder.
- Don’t pour water into tank immediately after making espresso coffee, wait about 1 minute at least.
RECOMENDATIONS TO MAKE A GOOD CAPUCHINO
- Fill the carafe and pour the water to the tank. Then turn switch to the 1 position to start boiling the water. In some minutes coffee maker will produce enough steam for making milk froth. During making steam, fill some milk (whole milk or half whole milk) into a cup or jar high enough to avoid splashing. Make sure that the nozzle is immersed in milk some centimetres. Once the water is boiling, steam will begin to go out of the steam tube, milk will begin to bubble and making froth. Some seconds later, it will nearly stop foaming. Water remained in the tank can still be useful to make an espresso coffee according to previous part of this manual.
- Note: to get better effect, move milk cup constantly up and down.
- Mix espresso coffee with foam milk and stir them by spoon, add chocolate powder if necessary.
- Once finished, let the device gets cold. Fix coffee maker with one hand and grasp nozzle with the other hand. Then clean the nozzle according to the direction of steam pipe.
Caution: operate carefully because of the hot nozzle after foaming and advise you should operate it after being cooled down.
Note: to prepare more than one cappuccino, first make all the coffees and then in the end prepare foam milk for all the cappuccinos.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Always unplug from appliance before cleaning.
- Clean appliance with soft cloth, never use abrasion cleaner.
- Rinse detachable components such as permanent filter, filter holder, jar, measuring spoon in warm water, and reassemble them in place after cleaning.
- Before appliance will be stored for long time, always clean and dry coffee maker completely. When it will be reused, clean it first.
- Never immerse the appliance in water.
- The jar can be cleaned with warm water, some washing-up liquid and a soft brush. Do not clean the jar in a dishwasher.
CAUTION
- Use only cold water!
- Ensure the jar is placed properly in its position when brewing coffee.
- Between brewing processes switch off the appliance and let it cool down for about 5 minutes. Then refill with cold water.
- After the brewing process, always switch off the appliance
Disposal of old electrical appliances.
The European directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), requires that old household electrical appliances must not be disposed of in the normal unsorted municipal waste stream. Old appliances must be collected separately in order to optimize the recovery and recycling of the materials they contain, and reduce the impact on human health and the environment. The crossed out “wheeled bin” symbol on the product reminds you of your obligation, that when you dispose of the appliance, it must be separately collected. Consumers should contact their local authority or retailer for information concerning the correct disposal of their old appliance.
