8×8 Wood Post Anchor Installation Guide

Softwood Installation

IMPORTANT:  Do not use on surfaces 30″ or higher (USA) or 600mm (CAN) or higher  UNLESS  you build according to our Engineering Report’s specs (See QR link below) AND obtain approval by your local authority. Use only Stainless Steel Screws with Aluminum Decking. Sold Separately.

  • Step 1
    • No knots in the lower 4″-6″ (10-15 cm) of the post. Place the post anchor on the post as illustrated.
  • Step 2
    • Position the post anchor correctly and use the recommended tools and screw sizes to secure it.
  • Step 3
    • Drill with a 5/16″ bit and pre-drill at least 4″ deep before installing 3/8″ lag screws. Concrete Installation

  • Step 1
    • Drill (1) corner hole & install, (1) screw in anchor. Drill (3) corner holes. *Concrete screws sold separately. 1/4″ x 2-3/4″ min. screw size.
  • Step 2
    • Remove anchor. Install remaining screws. (With Wood Post)

Hardwood Installation

IMPORTANT:  Use only Stainless Steel Screws with Aluminum Decking. Sold Separately.

  • Step 1
    • Use a 1-3/4″ Forstner Bit and a 1-1/4″ dia. Hole Saw as depicted to prepare the post.
  • Step 2
