How to use a dog doorbell for potty training:
- Introduce the dog doorbell: Let your dog sniff and get familiar with it.
- Create a routine: Encourage your dog to nudge the bell when they need to go potty.
- Associate nudging the bell with going outside: As soon as your dog nudges the bell, open the door immediately and add a cue such as “go potty”.
- Be patient & consistent: Reword successes, stick to the routine, and avoid punishing accidents.
Installation – Hang on the doorknob
Easy to hang on the doorknob to start your training. The doorbell strap can be adjusted from 12 to 40 inches long.
- Hang the bells to the strap.
- Adjust the bell strap to the desired length.
- Hang the bell strap on the doorknob.
Tip: Lower the volume by removing a bell or two.
Installation – Attach to the door or the wall
With the included wall mount. You can place the doorbell at any height and
location near the door or on the door. The wall mount can be installed with
included screws, or peel and stick with the double-sided tape.
A. Attach with strong double-sided tape
- Adjust the bell strap to the desired length then attached the strap to the wall mount.
- Remove the backing of the double-sided tape, then secure the wall mount to the desired location.

B. Attach to the wall with screws
- Place the wall mount at the desired location. Then, use the included screws to secure the wall mount.
- Adjust the bell strap to the desired length then attached the strap to the wall mount.
