Features
- Multiple sockets for eight plugs
- 4 digital (filtered) plug sockets and 4 analog (unfiltered) plug sockets are divided into two separate switching groups. Each group possesses two filtered (digital) and two unfiltered (analog) plug sockets.
- The “delay function” for the four filtered sockets also protects connected equipment from start-up peaks when it is switched on.
- The front panel is made from solid brushed aluminum for a great feel and noble look.
- The sturdy full-metal housing provides effective protection against ambient interference.
- Correct phase connection is ensured by a “polarity” indicator on the front display and phase marking on each individual socket
- Integrated sheath current filter protects against ground loops and high-frequency transients
- Absolutely reliable protection against surges for your high-quality hi-fi and home-cinema components; very quick response time. The power station may also be taken back into operation after slight voltage peaks with the RESET function.
- 24-carat gold-plated plug contacts
- Extremely high-quality internal wiring: internal conductor made from high-purity and oxygen-free copper; with 3.3 mm² internal cross-section
- External power cable with IEC connector: internal conductor made from oxygen-free copper; with a 1.5 mm² internal cross-section and 1.5 m long cable.

Cleaning
Before cleaning the Powerstation disconnect the mains plug. The Powerstation
should only be dusted. Do not use any liquid cleaners or sprays.
Initial operation
Connect the supplied power cord to the Oehlbach XXL Powerstation 909 and
insert the mains plug into a wall outlet. The multi-socket outlet can now be
activated via the POWER1 switch. POWER2 switches the second socket group. The
Oehlbach XXL Powerstation 909 features four unfiltered “analog” and four
filtered “digital” sockets. The unfiltered sockets are designated with „PURE
ANALOG“ and the filtered sockets are designated with „ DIGITAL FILTER “.
Connecting digital devices
Digital devices can react extremely sensitively to disturbing pulses and
sometimes even produce high-frequency interfering signals. Therefore, make
sure you connect all digital devices (e.g. DVD/BluRay player, HDD recorder,
PC, etc.) to the digital sockets on the power strip. These sockets are
designated with “DIGITAL FILTER”. Devices connected to these sockets are
protected by an efficient filter against all disturbing pulses that arrive via
the main supply. This switching circuit also eliminates interference caused by
the connected devices themselves. Furthermore, a delay function ensures these
sockets are switched with a 2-second delay. This provides protection against
current surges for sensitive hi-fi equipment.
Connecting analogue devices
Connect all analog devices such as a tuner, record player, tape deck, or
amplifier to the „analog “ sockets (“PURE ANALOG”). The XXL Powerstation 909
uses these sockets to provide unfiltered current for all analog devices and
sufficient reserves for a permanent, stable power supply at all times, even in
the event of high power requirements.
Polarity control
An in-phase connection of all devices will guarantee the best possible,
unadulterated sound. This is the only way to ensure that potential
equalization currents, which have a negative impact on the sound, are
effectively avoided. The POLARITY light indicates that the red sockets are
connected in phase (L). If the polarity light does not illuminate, switch off
the power supply, remove the mains plug from the wall socket, turn it around
180°, and plug it in again. The polarity LED now illuminates and the phase
designation on the individual sockets correctly designates the phase. To prove
the correct in-phase connection of your HIFI device, you should use the
Oehlbach Phaser (Art. No. 17017). All end devices can now be connected in
phase accordingly.
Surge protection
If the surge protection function of the XXL Powerstation 909 is triggered as a
result of extreme voltage peaks, the eight sockets (and all of the connected
devices) are disconnected from the mains. The Powerstation can be used again
by pressing the RESET button. Correct operation of the active surge protection
function is indicated by the PROTECTED light.
Digital display
The digital display either shows the applied voltage (Volt) or the current
energy consumption (>20 Watts). The two functions can be alternated between by
pressing the MODE button. Pressing the DISPLAY button allows you to switch off
the display backlight.
Earth connection
The XXL Powerstation 909 is equipped with a gold-plated earth connection at
the rear. Various devices, such as turntables, etc. can be earthed here.
