GENERAL POWER TOOL SAFETY WARNINGS

WARNING!
Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in elec- tric shock, fire and/or serious injury. Save all warnings and instructions for future rieference. The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
WORK AREA SAFETY

  1. Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
  2. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
  3. Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

  1. Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
  2. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
  3. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
  4. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
  5. When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
  6. If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an GFCI reduces the risk of elec- tric shock.

PERSONAL SAFETY

  1. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in
    serious personal injury.

  8. Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in unexpected situations.

BATTERY TOOL USE AND CARE

  1. Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery.
  2. Use power tools only with specifically designated battery pack. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of  injury and fire.
  3. When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause irritation or burrs.
  4. Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
  5. Do not use a battery pack or tool that is dam- aged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.
  6. Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 265 ° F (130°C) may cause explosion.
  7. Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the battery pack or tool out- side the temperature range specified in the instructions. Charging improperly or at temperatures outside the specified range may damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.

SERVICE
Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES FOR CORDLESS POWER TOOLS

  1. Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces, when performing an operation where the cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Cutting accessory contacting a “live” wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool “live” and could give the operator an electric shock.

  2. Use a suitable detector in order to locate the position of the hidden power cord, or request information from the local power supply unit. A damaged cable can cause a fire and electric shock. A damaged gas pipe can cause an explosion. Broken pipes will damage your property and belongings.

  3. When the accessory is pinched or snagged, switch off the power tool immediately and hold the power tool motionless until the accessory comes to a complete stop, or it may generate an extremely high torque and in turn cause a kickback. Accessories are often snagged or pinched by the workpiece when:
-The power tool is overloaded or
-The accessory is skewed in the workpiece.

  4. Always keep a tight grip on the tool. An extremely high reaction torque may occur when tightening and loosening bolts or nuts.

  5. Use vises, clamps or fixing devices to secure and support the workpiece to a stable platform. Holding the work by hand or against your body is unstable and may lead to loss of control and injury.

  6. Keep the workplace clean. Mixing work dusts together can cause chemical reactions. Light metal dust can lead to a fire or explosion.

  7. Wait until the product has come to a complete stop before you lay it down. Pinching or snagging causes rapid stalling of the rotating accessory which in turn causes the uncontrolled power tool to be forced in the direction opposite of the accessory’ s rotation at the point of the binding.

  8. Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energizing power tools that have the  switch on invites accidents.

  9. Never attempt to open the battery pack for any reason, or it may result in a short circuit. If the battery pack case is cracked or damaged, do not insert into the char- ger. Do not crush, drop or damage the battery pack. Do not use a battery pack or charger that has received a sharp blow, been dropped, run over or damaged in any way (e.g., pierced with a nail, hit with a hammer, stepped on). Damaged battery packs should be returned to the service center for recycling.
Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fire or excessive masoc) temperature. Exposure to fire or high temperature may cause explosion.

  10. Toxic vapors can be emitted from the battery pack if it is damaged or if the operator does not follow the instructions to use the battery pack. The workplace must be kept well ventilated. Seek medical attention immediately if you feel unwell. Inhalation of vapors from a leaking cell within a battery pack will cause irritation or even severe pain to the mouth and respiratory tract.

  11. Fluid leaking from the damaged bat- tery pack will contaminate other parts. Check the contaminated parts, clean them and replace them with new ones if necessary.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR BATTERY CHARGERS

  1. Do not use the charger outdoors or expose it to wet or damp conditions. Water entering the charger will increase  the risk of electric shock.
  2. DO NOT attempt to charge the battery pack with any chargers other than a ZKH charger. ZKH chargers and battery packs are specifically designed to work together.
  3. These chargers are not intended for any uses other than charging ZKH rechargeable battery packs. Charging other types of battery packs may cause them to overheat and burst, resulting in personal injury, property damage, fire, shock or electrocution.
  4. Keep the charger clean. It can cause electric shock if pollutants enter charger.
  5. Pull by the plug rather than the cord when disconnecting the charger. This will reduce the risk of damage to the electric plug and cord.
  6. Check the cord and plug before use. Do not operate the charger with a damaged cord or plug. Have them replaced immediately.
  7. Do not operate the charger if it has received a sharp blow, been dropped or otherwise damaged in any way. Take it to an authorized service center.
  8. Do not disassemble the charger. Take it to an authorized service center when service or repair is required. Incorrect reassembly may result in a risk of elec- tric shock, electrocution or fire.

WARNING:To reduce the risk of electric shock, fire or serious personal injury, read and understand the opera- tor’s instructions. Wear safety goggles and eye protection. Never disassemble, roll down, heat the tool, battery pack or chargerto 100 ° C, or burn them to ash.
Charge the battery packs only in ZKH chargers. Do not short-circuit the wiring. Do not throw the tool, battery pack and charger into the fire. When charging, indoor temperature of 5~40°C is preferred, otherwise it will explode or burn. Keep the battery out of reach of children. Do not use the battery pack as a hammer, striking the battery pack can cause accidental short circuit, fire or explosion.
Read all safety warnings, instruc- tions, and cautionary markings for the battery pack, charger and product.

CHARGING A BATTERY PACK

Charge the battery pack with the ZKH charger. ZKH chargers and battery packs are specifically designed to work together.
NOTE: NOTICE: Charge the battery pack indoors. Lithium-lon battery packs are shipped partially charged. Before using power tools for the first time, charge the battery pack fully to ensure the power of the battery pack.
It is possible to charge the lithium-ion battery pack at any time without shortening its lifespan. The charge process can be intermittent and it will not damage the battery. ZKH lithium-ion battery pack is designed with an Electronic Cell Protection (ECP) that will
protect against over-discharge. When the battery is depleted, the protection switch will automatically shut down the power tool, and the accessory mounted on the tool will stop rotating.
WARNING: After switching off the power tool, do not continue to press the start-stop switch.
ZKH lithium-ion battery pack is designed with a Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) Thermistor. When the battery pack is too hot or too cold, it will suspend charging until the battery pack has reached an appropriate tem- perature over 23 °F (-5 ° C) and below 122 ° F (50 ° C). This feature ensures maximum battery pack life. Pay attention to the regulations on waste disposal.
Dust and Debris
There are harmful substances in waste dust from processing lead-based pigments, woods, minerals, and metals.
Operators or individuals near the site who touch and breathe in these waste materials can have allergic reactions or respiratory infections.
Some dust, such as waste dust from processing oak or sycamore, can cause cancer, especially when combined with wood additives such as anti-cancer agents. Only individuals who have had professional training can process materials containing asbestos.
Work in a well ventilated area.
Work with approved safety equipment, such as those dust masks that are spe- cially designed to filter out microscopic particles.
Comply with the regulations regarding the materials that are permitted to be used and processed.
STARTING AND INSTALLING THE BATTERY PACK
To remove the battery, push in the release buttons and pull the battery pack away from the tool.
WARNING: Use only the specified ZKH battery pack. The supply voltage must match the voltage specified on the label. Using any battery packs other than a ZKH battery pack may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
WARNING: Using a battery pack that is not compatible with the power tool not only prevents the power tool from functioning properly, but it could also damage the power tool.

OPERATION

Forward/Reverse Control Button
A forward/reverse control button determines the direction of the tool and also serves as a lock-off button. Due to a lockout mechanism, the control switch can only be adjusted when the ON/OFF  switch is not pressed. Always allow the motor to come to a complete stop before using the control switch.

  1. For forward rotation, release the trigger switch and depress the forward/re- verse control button on the right side of the tool. Check the direction of rotation before use.
  2. For reverse rotation, release the trigger switch and depress the forward/reverse control button on the left side of the tool. Check the direction of rotation before use.
  3. To lock the trigger, push the control switch to the center position. The trigger will not work when the control switch is in the locked position. Always remove the battery pack before performing maintenance or changing accessories. Always lock the trigger or
remove the battery pack before storing the tool and any time the tool is not in use.

Mode Selection

  1. Your tool is equipped with a mode selector which allows you to select one of three speeds mode. Select the mode based on the maximum speed/torque needed and control the speed of the tool using the variable speed trigger switch.
Mode RPM IPM Fastening Nut-Busting
Torque Torque
(ft-lbs) (ft-lbs)
H 0-2500 0-3500 Up to 280* Up to 332*
M 0-2000 0-2800 Up to 221* Up to 266*
L 0-1700 0-2380 Up to 188* Up to 300*
0-2500 0-3500 Up to 280* Up to 332*

*Torque values depend on many factors such as state of battery discharge, battery size, impacting time, bolt size, etc.
Always check with a torque wrench to ensure desired torque value is achieved.
This is not a precision fastening tool.
Allow the tool to come to a complete stop before changing speeds. Press the selector button to cycle between the settings.
In mode:
Auto Shut Off – In forward, the tool runs at a reduced RPM and then shuts off once the torque is achieved. Bolt Removal – In reverse, the tool runs at full RPM and IPM until the nut breaks free from the joint. Then, the tool slows to a reduced RPM for better control in removing the nut.
Variable Speed Trigger Switch
These tools may be operated at any speed from 0 to full speed.

  1. To start the tool, pull the trigger. NOTE: An LED is turned on when the trigger is pulled and will go off shortly after the trigger is released.
  2. To vary the driving speed, increase or decrease pressure on the trigger. The further the trigger is pulled, the greater the speed, up to the maximum speed set by the speed control.
  3. To stop the tool, release the trigger and the electric brake stops the tool instantly.

Fastening Torque
The fastening torque is determined based on the duration of impacting/fastening. After 3-5 seconds of impacting/ fastening, the fastening torque is at its highest. The torque value is related to the following factors:

  1. Hardness of the materials used for the bolt and nut.
  2. Type of washer (such as disk-type washer, spring washer, or seal ring)
  3. Hardness of the workpiece
  4. Lubricant used on the workpiece surface

WARNING: Be sure to firmly grip the power tool. Short and powerful recoil may occur when tightening and loosening bolts.
Inertial Rotation Stopping Function
After releasing the start-stop switch, the anvil will stop rotating immediately, thus preventing the accessory on the anvil from inertial rotation. When driv- ing in the screws, the start-stop switch should not be released until the screw head is flush with the surface of the material where it is applied.
Temperature Control Overload Protection
Use the power tool according to the instructions, and the power tool will not overload.
In the case of strong loading or when the temperature of the battery pack is outside the permissible temperature range (-10~70°C), the rotation speed of the machine will decrease. After wait- ing for the temperature of the battery pack to recover within the permissible temperature range, the electric tool can operate again at the highest speed.
Attaching and Removing Accessories

  1. Use only the appropriate size Square Drive Sockets.
  2. To attach a socket, align the accessory with the anvil and push it firmly over the retaining ring.
  3. To remove the accessory, pull the accessory off the anvil.
