BATTERY INSTALLATION
The batteries included in the mailbox are for an in-store demonstration. Before beginning, an adult must install fresh alkaline batteries. Here’s how
- Using a Phillips screwdriver (not included), remove the screw and battery compartment cover located under the base of the mailbox.
- Install three (3) fresh 1.5V AAA (LR03) alkaline batteries (not included) in the learning activity mailbox, making sure the (+) and (-) ends face the proper direction as indicated inside the battery compartment.
- Replace the compartment cover and tighten the screw.
WIRE DISPOSAL
- Properly remove and dispose of any and all exposed electrical wires included with this toy.
- They are intended for Try Me Mode functionality only.
ASSEMBLY
- Turn the Learning Mailbox on by moving the switch located on the bottom base to volume ( ).
- Place the base on a flat surface and connect the hedge to the base.
- Note: This and the following steps are one-time snaps and cannot be undone.
- Connect the mailbox post to the base. Listen for the click, letting you know both pieces are connected.
- Connect the mailbox to the post.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
- Keep the toy out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source.
- Remove the batteries from the toy when not in use for an extended period of time to avoid battery corrosion.
- Do not expose the toy to water or moisture.
- Store all content pieces in My First Learning Mailbox when not in use to avoid misplacing any pieces or parts.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Do not play with My First Learning Mailbox in the street or actual sidewalk, where there is vehicular traffic or in heavily traveled areas with pedestrians.
- Do not stand on, sit on or throw My First Learning Mailbox as doing so can result in injury to the person and irreversible damage to the unit.
- Do not drop My First Learning Mailbox onto furniture, pets, people, etc., as doing so may cause injury to the person and pets and irreparable damage to the unit.
- If the My First Learning Mailbox stops working properly or doesn’t work as it should, turn off and turn it back on. If there is still a problem, replace the batteries.
- Keep fingers away from closing doors.
LET’S LEARN, EXPLORE AND PRETEND
- Press the white envelope to hear mail delivery-themed play phrases (FIG. 1).
- Slide your letters into the My First Learning Mailbox to hear play phrases. Listen for the realistic creaking sound when My First Learning Mailbox is opened (FIG. 2).
- My First Learning Mailbox comes with shapes that can be sorted and matched to the side of your mailbox. (FIG. 3).
- Turn your My First Learning Mailbox bag to hear clicking sounds (FIG. 4).
- Use your numbers to add your house number to the post of My First Learning mailbox (FIG. 5).
- Check to see what is in your special delivery! One package contains something small, that barks and loves to cuddle (FIG. 6).
- Change modes to explore your My First Learning Mailbox’s play themes by moving the envelope from right to left (FIG. 7).
- Slide to the right to place in Special Delivery mode to pretend you are a mail carrier.
- Slide to the center to place My First Learning Mailbox in Learning mode where you can continue to learn shapes and numbers.
- Slide to the left to place into Free Play mode.
- Press the delivery buttons at the base of the My First Learning Mailbox to continue to learn, explore and pretend. Play phrases will change based on which mode My First Learning Mailbox is set to (FIG. 8).
LET’S BE CAREFUL
WARNING
- ADULT ASSEMBLY IS REQUIRED.
- Prior to assembly, keep away from children until assembled.
- Please keep this manual as it contains important information.
- This product is intended for use by children ages 12-36 months.
- Place on flat, level surfaces free of objects that could cause the My First Learning Mailbox to tip over.
- For best results use on a hard, flat surface.
- Place out of the way of household traffic.
- Never use near staircases, steps, pools, hot surfaces, or areas that may be hazardous to a child.
- Do not use if damaged or broken.
LIMITED WARRANTY
The Little Tikes Company makes fun, high-quality toys. We warrant to the original purchaser that this product is free of defects in materials or workmanship for one year * from the date of purchase (a dated sales receipt is required for proof of purchase). At the sole election of The Little Tikes Company, the only remedies available under this warranty will be the replacement of the defective part or the replacement of the product. This warranty is valid only if the product has been assembled and maintained per the instructions. This warranty does not cover abuse, accident, cosmetic issues such as fading or scratches from normal wear, or any other cause not arising from defects in material and workmanship. The warranty period is three (3) months for daycare or commercial purchasers. Some countries/states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
BATTERY SAFETY INFORMATION
- Use only size “AAA” (LR03) alkaline batteries (3 required).
- Charging of rechargeable batteries should only be done under adult supervision.
- Remove rechargeable batteries from the product before recharging.
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable batteries.
- Be sure to insert the batteries correctly and follow the toy and battery manufacturer’s instructions.
- Always remove exhausted or dead batteries from the product.
- Dispose of dead batteries properly: do not burn or bury them.
- Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
- Avoid short-circuiting battery terminals.
- Remove batteries before placing the unit into storage for a prolonged period of time.
