OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

• This straightening iron is intended for household use. Use on Alternating Current (60 hertz) only.
• This unit is designed to be operated at 120V AC.
• This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way.
• If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

NOTE: Do not use this styling appliance on hair extensions.

GETTING STARTED
Plug the iron into an electrical outlet. Turn on the unit. The power setting will become illuminated.

IMPORTANT!

• The temperature setting will automatically lock within 5 seconds of turning your appliance on.
• You may adjust the temperature immediately after turning the appliance on OR, if the temperature setting is locked, hold down the + or – button for 1–2 seconds to adjust it.
• Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 1–2 seconds to turn off the unit (the light will go off).
• Never leave your straightening iron on and unattended. However, should you fail to turn the unit off, it will shut itself off automatically within 60 minutes.

Temperature Setting Guide

TO STRAIGHTEN HAIR
Hair should be clean and completely dry before using the straightening iron. For best results, use a light styling product before blow-drying hair.

1. Start with a hair section that is 1 inch wide and no more than ½ inch thick.
2. Open the iron and place the hair section between the two hot plates, close to the scalp. Trap hair between the plates by firmly squeezing the handles together. While maintaining the tension, slowly pull the unit down along the hair section toward the ends of hair.
3. At the end of the hair section, release the pressure on the handle and allow the hair section to slide out.
4. Repeat process on additional sections of hair until you achieve the hairstyle you desire. It may be necessary to repeat the process in certain areas, depending on the texture of your hair.

Some experience is necessary when using this straightening iron. After using the iron several times, you will learn the ideal way to straighten and style your hair.
