Safety Guide

  1. Please store the smaller-sized drone accessories in places that are out of reach of children.
  2. This drone is very powerful. For all first-time flights, the left joystick must be slowly pushed up in order to prevent the drone from ascending too fast to avoid unnecessary collision and possible damage and injury.
  3. When the flight is ended, first turn off the power of the remote control. Then turn off the power of the drone.
  4. Take extra precaution to ensure that the drone is at a minimum distance of 15 feet from the pilot, other people, and animals in order to prevent bodily injury during tight operation. A minimum separation distance of 20 cm must be maintained between the user’s body and the device under normal use condition.
  5. Children under the age of 8 must be instructed in the correct and safe operation of the aircraft by an adult.
  6. The children must be under adult supervision when using this aircraft.
  7. When the drone is not in use, please remove the batteries in the remote control.
  8. Discharge the battery to 40%-50% (On a full charge, fly for half of the total flight time) if it will not be used for 10 days or more, this can greatly extend the battery life.
  9. Please keep a safe distance from the spinning propellers to avoid injury.
  10. To ensure the electromagnetic environment requirement of the aviation radio (station), using remote controls in the zone, which is in a radius of about 5000m zone from the circle center of the airport runway, is forbidden. All users also should abide by the regulation of the radio set forth by government and regulatory agencies including the duration and area.
  11. Only uses the recommended transformer for the model, and the transformer is not a toy. Check the cord, plug, enclosure and other parts of the transformer regularly.If any damages have been discovered, please immediately stop using it, until it was completely repaired.
  12. Never look steadily at the laser beam since the laser radiation.
  13. Attention: Drone assembly under adult supervision.
  14. The pilot is responsible for the safe operation and safe distance from uninvolved persons and property on the ground and from other airspace users and shall never fly the drone above crowds (> 12 persons).
  15. Open the battery cover of the toy with screwdriver.

BATTERY WARNING

  1. Failure to follow all the instructions may result in serious injury, irreparable damage to the battery and may cause a fire, smoke or explosion.
  2. Always check the battery’s condition before charging or using it.
  3. Replace the battery if it has been dropped, or in case of odor, overheating, discolouration, deformation or leakage.
  4. Use only the supplied charging cable.
  5. The battery temperature must never exceed 60°C (140°F) otherwise the battery could be damaged or ignite.
  6. Never charger on a flammable surface, near flammable products or inside a vehicle (preferably place the battery in an non-flammable and nonconductive container ).
  7. Never leave the battery unattended during the charging process. Never disassemble or modify the housing’s wiring, or puncture the cells. Always ensure that the charger output voltage corresponds to the voltage of the battery . Do not short circuit the batteries
  8. Never expose the battery to moisture or direct sunlight, or store it in a place where temperatures could exceed 60°C (Drone in the sun, for example)
  9. Always keep it out or reach or children .
  10. Improper battery use may result in a fire, explosion or other hazard.
  11. Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged . Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.
  12. Different types of batteries or new and used batteries are not to be mixed.
  13. Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity.
  14. The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited. Regular examination of transformer or battery charger for any damage to their cord, plug,enclosure and other parts and they must not be used until the damage has been repaired.
  15. The packaging has to be kept since it contains important information.

Repair and Maintenance

  1. Use dry and soft cloth to clean this product.
  2. Avoid exposing this product to heat.
  3. Do not immerse this product in water, otherwise, the electronic parts will be damaged.
  4. Check the cord, plug, enclosure and other parts regularly. If any damages have been discovered, please immediately stop using it, until it was completely repaired.

  1. Pull out the blades that need to be replaced.
  2. As shown on left, the blade A is mounted to the arm “A” position, and the blade B is mounted to the arm “B” position.

Battery Changing and Charging Methods for Drone

  • Connect the drone charging port to the USB, then connect the USB interface to the computer.
  • (The indicator light below the charging port of the drone will turn on while charging, and it will turn off or flash when charging completed.
  • It takes about 70 minutes to completely charge the battery.)

The charging time is about 70 minutes; Hover flight time is approximately 5 minutes.

The toy is only to be connected to equipment bearing either of the following symbols
Maxmium radio-frequency power transmitted < 10 dBm. Frequency range: 2442 MHz – 2473 MHz

Important: battery charging information

  1. Remove and insert the battery correctly;
  2. Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged;
  3. Batteries are only to be charged by adults or by children at least 8 years old.
  4. Different types of batteries or new and used batteries are not to be mixed;
  5. Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity;
  6. Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the toy;
  7. The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
  8. After flying, don’t charge batteries at once to avoid batteries too heat to cause fire, make sure it cools down before charging.
  9. Don’t hit or let batteries fall down when charging to avoid inner short-circuit.
  10. Only use the included adaptor for charging. Please replace with new batteries in time if batteries aging.
  11. After full charging, please take off adaptor in time, otherwise batteries will discharge and charge again, this way will shorten batteries service life.

Installing transmitter batteries

Transmitter battery installation: open the battery cover at the back of the transmitter. Install 4pcs AAA batteries according to the polarity indications

( Note: batteries are not included).

  1. During the battery installation, it must be ensured that the polarities of the batteries are matched with those of the battery box. No battery shall be installed with the opposite polarity.
  2. Please do not use new and old batteries together.
  3. Please do not use different types of batteries together.
  4. Do not use rechargeable batteries.

Flight Preparation and Switching the Drone On and Off

  1. Flight preparation
    • Step 1: Press the power button on the top of the drone to 1-2S make sure the drone is turned “ON”.SYMA-X20-Mini-Nano-RC-Quadcopter-fig-8
    • Step 2: Push the power button of the remote control.
    • Step 3: Push the left joystick (accelerator) up to the highest point and then push down to the lowest point. When the led indicator lights in the drone change from quick flashing to continuous light, it means that the drone goes into the flight standby mode.

    • Method 1: push the left joystick (accelerator) to the highest point and then back to the center, the blades of the drone start rotating slowly.
    • Method 2: Move the left and right joysticks inwards in an internal loop of “8” for 1 second, the blades of the drone start rotating slowly.
    • Method 3: When the drone is stationary, press the two buttons on the top of the remote control at the same time, the drone automatically takes off and hovers at a certain height.

    • Method 1: Push the left joystick (Accelerator) to the lowest level and hold there for 2 to 3 seconds, the drone can then be turned off.
    • Method 2: Move the left and right joysticks inwards in an internal loop of “8” for 1 second, and the drone can be turned off.
    • Method 3: When the drone is in flight, press the two buttons on the top of the remote control at the same time, the drone will descend to the ground and lands, drone blades stop rotating.

  • Ascend/Descend
    • When the left stick (throttle) is moved up/down, the drone will ascend/descend.
  • Forward/Backward

  • Left/Right Rotation
    • When the left stick (throttle) is moved left/right, the drone will rotate to the left/right.
  • Left/Right
    • When the right stick is moved left/ right the drone will fly to the left/ right.

Trimming

  • Forward/Backward Trim Control
    • If the drone drifts quickly forward or backward while hovering, please adjust forward/backward trim. Press the left stick and hold it, then move the right stick forward/backward until the drone starts hovering as normal.
  • Left/Right Trim Control
    • If the drone drifts quickly to the left/right while hovering, please adjust left/right trim. Press the left stick and hold it, after move the right stick to the left/right until the drone starts hovering as normal.
  • Left/Right Rotation Trim
    • If the drone rotates quickly to the left/right while hovering, please adjust left/right rotation trim.
    • Press the left stick and hold it, after move it to the left/right until the drone starts hovering as normal.

Product Features

  1. Low-voltage Protection:
    • When the four indicator lights at the bottom of the drone start flashing, it means that the drone’s battery power is low. Please fly back the drone immediately at this time.
  2. Over-current Protection:
    • If the drone encounters a direct impact from a foreign object, or is obstructed, or if the blades are not rotating, the drone will go into over-current protection mode.
  3. Balance Calibration:
    • Place the drone on a level surface and at the same time, push both left and right joysticks to the lower right corners for 2 to 3 seconds; the led light indicator on the drone will blink rapidly, and it will return back to the normal status after about 2 to 3 seconds. The level calibration is successful.
  4. Fast/Slow Speed Function:
    • Slow speed by default when first powered-on. Possible to switch the function mode of fast/ slow speed by pressing in on the High/Low speed button for a short time. It is switched into fast speed mode when two “beep” sounds come from the remote control , pressing in on the High/Low speed button for a short time under fast speed mode and then one “beep” sound would come from the remote control, then it is then switched back into slow speed mode.
  5. 3D Stunts:
    • When you are familiar with the basic actions, you can proceed to explore even more exciting stunt actions. Fly the drone to a height of 3M above the ground, push the upper right corner button (Stunt Flip Button) on the remote control and simultaneously push the right joystick to the farthest position of Front/Back/Left/Right, the drone will now execute the Front/Back/ Left/Right stunt flip action.
    • Notice: Fully charged drone battery will ensure the best 30 stunts performance

    • Use the left stick (throttle) to achieve the desired height and after allow the left stick to fall back to its default middle position.

Headless Mode:

    • Turn on the transmitter.
    • Turn on the drone, press the on/off button and make sure the drone is on. To set the drone’s headless mode forward direction, ensure the front of the drone is pointing the desired forward direction.
    • Move the left stick (throttle) fully up and after fully down. The transmitter will emit one long beep indicating successful pairing and defined forward direction.
  2. Calibration:
    • When in headless mode, the forward direction may start deviating due to numerous crashes. Re-set the forward direction and after push both sticks simultaneously to the lowest left corners.
    • The drone indicator lights will start flashing and after 3 seconds will turn solid (glow) indicating successful calibration.
  3. Activating/Deactivating Headless Mode:
    • After successful pairing observe the drone indicator lights and wait until they turn solid (glow). Press the right stick and hold it for 2 seconds, the transmitter will emit 3 beeps indicating headless mode is activated. Press the right stick again and hold it for 2 seconds after the transmitter will emit one long beep indicating headless mode is deactivated.
    • When flying in the headless mode, it does not matter in which direction the front of the drone is facing. It will fly forward/backward/right/left relative to the position of pilot.

WARRANTY

LIMITED 2-YEAR WARRANTY AND FREE LIMITED REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR 2 YEARS

Symatoys.com.cn warrants to the original buyer only that its products will be free from defects in material and workmanship for 2 years from the date upon which the product is shipped, either directly from symatoys.com.cn or from an Authorized Re-seller’s location, to the buyer.

The following condition’s must to be eligible for warranty coverage:

  1. During the warranty period product is used as intended by the manufacturer.
  2. The Product has not been disassembled or modified.
  3. The labels and serial numbers show no signs of tampering or altering.
  4. Buyer has a warranty code obtained by registering their product online prior to making a claim.

EXCEPTIONS: THE LIMITED WARRANTY SHALL NOT APPLY TO:

  • Damage caused by normal wear and tear
  • Accident, negligence, abuse, misuse, misapplication or willful damage by buyer (or its agents), or acts of nature
  • Crash or burning caused by non-manufacturing factors

PROCEDURE: Any claims for breach of the foregoing limited warranty shall only be valid if buyer makes such claim in writing within 2 year of the date of shipment of the product to which the claim. LIMITED REMEDY: Symatoys.com.cn’s sole liability, and buyer’s sole remedy for any breach of the foregoing warranty shall be at symatoys.com.cn’s option to exchange the product with a new product or a refurbished product that is functionally equivalent to the original product, or issue a credit or refund to the purchase price the product.
