TIPS

  • Please be advised that our AC bracket may not work on vinyl, plastic, or metal base windows.
  • Please check if the AC units you bought already include support brackets.
  • Please note that the AC supports need drill holes on window sills for installation.
  • Please check if the Homeowner Association allow you to drill holes on the window sill to install the brackets.

INSTALLATION

  1. LOCATING AIR CONDITIONER CENTER OF GRAVITY
The compressor is the heaviest component in an air conditioner and is usually mounted to one side; partially lift one side; at a time to determine if “heavy” side is left or right in relation to front of air conditioner; if both sides feel the same, weight is “balanced”.

  2. ESTABLISHING SILL POSITION
Measure width of window sill and mark the center where sill and stool meet; place concave block on the sill and against the bottom of stool- Figure 2a and 2b; align the center line of the concave block with the center mark on the sill, add rounded spacer; move a block away from stool until the top of the concave block and rounded spacer are even with the top of stool DRILL: 5/32″*2″ deep hole in to mark on sill; secure block with screw through center hole
NOTE: If air conditioner has adjustable window panel frame, a- continue moving concave block until frame fits between block and stool.
NOTE: If A/C support contacts storm window frame, c- at flat spacer Weight adjustment figure 2b: mark hole in center of block. If air conditioner is “balanced”, use center mark ; if “heavy” side is to the left, or to right, remake the mark 3 inches towards the heavy side.
Note: Some vinyl windows feature form filled or hollow sills. A/C support must be anchored firmly in to solid material (i.e. wood, cement, etc. )to support the air conditioner. Be sure the mounting screws passed through the sill and are secure in solid material.

  3. ALIGNING WITH AND MOUNTING TO SILL
If an obstacle (i.e. storm window, etc.) on the sill, check to see if the body will clear using the rounded spacer and block: if not, built a body with a flat spacer. If flat spacer does not provide enough height call us for additional spacer(s).
Figure Step 4; NOTE: Built-up may be higher than stool nut A/C SAFE will maintain support: place pair of blue screws through body hole set “A’(unless hole set “B” is necessary) and through spacer combination.

  4. SETTING ANGLE
Place angled end of leg flat against the underside of the body, aligning leg holes with middle holes inside of the body;position foot pad of leg flat against exterior surface; slide leg in or out along underside of the body and exterior surface until bubble is level is centered Figure Step 5; gradually slide leg toward the outer end of body until bubble in level moves off center towards you-Figure Step 6;align leg holes with closet holes in body and insert – 20*3 bolt in all holes, temporarily securing leg to body; check bubble and if necessary readjust leg one set of hole away from you;unit should now be self-supporting against outside surface with a downward tiltQUICK PARTS AC

  5. FINAL MOUNTING
Unfasten pair of blue screws, detaching body and removing spacer combination; tighten leg to the body with -20*3 bolt -20 hex nut assembly with two wrenches /sockets
NOTE: Do not over tighten – special air craft nut will not work loose; align Spacer combination and body over mounting holes; reinsert blue screw, tighten evenly on both sides, then loosen each blue mounting screw one full turn; be certain foot pad is flatly secured against an outside wall; install air conditioner in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.

  6. REMOVAL
Withdraw air conditioner; unfasten pair of blue mounting screws; remove A/C Support and spacer combination; unfasten silver screw and detach block from sill; insert plugs into open screw holes to prevent moisture damage; fold A/C Support and store with remaining itemsQUICK PARTS AC 080 Window AC Bracket
