PRINTER CARTRIDGE INSTRUCTIONS

CARTRIDGE NOT RECOGNISED PROBLEM?

There may be occasions when, after installing a new ink or toner cartridge in your printer, you might see a message on your printer like:

  • Your printer says ‘ink cartridge is not compatible.
  • Your printer says ‘printer cartridge not detected,’ or your printer cannot detect ink.
  • A low or empty level of ink and toner displayed on your computer.
  • A message on your printer warning ‘no cartridge installed’ (or words to that effect). Flashing warning lights displayed on your printer.

If you do get any of the above messages, please try these fixes:

  1. Remove your new cartridge and replace it with the old one. Leave your printer and go and do something else for 10 minutes.
  2. Replace the old cartridge with the new one again. These two steps alone often resolve the issue, so see if your printer now recognizes your new cartridges. However, if you’re still having trouble…
  3. Remove the new cartridge. Make sure you place it in a clean and safe place where the cartridge or the surface won’t be damaged.
  4. Turn the printer off using its power button
  5. Unplug your printer at the wall. It’s important to do both steps 4 and 5 separately, as some printers can remain in sleep mode if you’ve only switched off the power button on the printer control panel. Leave your printer like this for about 10 minutes or so. (but don’t press the power button just yet)
  6. Plug your printer back in at the wall
  7. Insert your new cartridge
  8. Press the power button on your printer

if the problems still persists please try the following

  1. Ensure the protective strip or plastic cover is removed from the cartridge.

  2. Remove the cartridge and clean the contacts with a cloth, be careful not to touch them

  3. Please ensure the cartridge is clicked into the slot correctly

  4. Please check the cartridge you have ordered is correct or have been sent the correct ones?

    • We are all human so either party can easily make a mistake, it can be easy especially when printer model numbers and cartridge codes are similar, so please double check step 4 if the problems are not solved. Please email us and we will be happy to help

    • There are also times when no ink comes out at all, though it is very rare. in these
      circumstances please check the printer itself is working, perhaps with an old cartridge or if the printer has not been used for a while, then please do some head cleans via the settings menu as the printer head may be blocked (on printers where the printer head is built into the printer).

    • If you get Lines or faded ink, please also perform the head clean via the settings menu on your printer, this will take a few minutes and ensure the printer cleans out any clogs internally.
