Installation

  1. Position the tempus Ethernet Switch and Hybrid Power Supply on a stable surface in a ventilated position.
  2. Insert the round 3-pin DC connector of the DC Cable into the ‘DC OUTPUT’ socket on the rear of the hybrid power supply and tighten the locking ring.
  3. Insert the barrel connector on the other end of the DC Cable into the DC 12V socket on the rear of the tempus Ethernet switch.
  4. Connect the power supply to the mains power, then turn on the power supply using the switch located next to the mains input on the rear panel. The green LED will illuminate.
  5. The Ethernet Switch will now boot up. During this process, the LED on the rear of the Switch will flash, becoming permanent/solid after approximately 1 minute.

Connect Tempus to Your Router and network Devices

  1. Using a good quality Ethernet cable, connect one end to an Ethernet port on your router.
  2. Connect the other end of the cable to one of the six 1Gb/s ports on the rear of the tempus Ethernet Switch.

Connect Network Devices to tempus
We recommend connecting all your network devices to one of the 1Gb/s ports unless you have a Streamer or Server which is specifically designed to operate at 100 Mb/s.

Usage Warnings

  1. This product is not waterproof. To prevent fire or electric hazards, do not place any containers filled with liquid near this equipment or expose it to dripping, splashing, rain or moisture.
  2. To prevent fire hazards, do not place any naked flame sources on or near the product.
  3. The enclosure of the product acts as a heatsink to keep the product cool. Leave adequate space around the product to allow free movement of air. Do not place other equipment directly on the top cover of the enclosure.
