STALLATION / OPERATING INSTRUCTION
Warning: The water pump should be connected to the mains supply via an RCD (residual current device) with an operating current ≤30MA to ensure that the power is cut should any problems occur.
When installing, please ensure your SIP water pump is disconnected from electrical supply to prevent possible injury to people and / or damage due to un-wanted start up
Note: The hose can be fitted directly to the pump if the hose has the correct male 1” BSP thread, alternatively; follow the instructions below to fit the hose by means of a hose adaptor
- Fit the 1” inlet and outlet adaptors to the pump (see below).
- Fit the inlet and outlet hoses over the adaptors and secure with a relevant pipe clip where necessary.
- Sit the end of the suction hose into the area to be cleared and the outlet hose to where the water is to be pumped to.
Note: Solid wall / super tough hose should be used instead of lay flat to ensure the pump will work closer to its capacity.
Prior to use the pump will need to be primed:
- Remove the priming port bung (see page 10 & 12).
- Pour water through the port until it is full.
- The amount of water needed will depend on different factors such as length of hose etc
Note: The pump may need to be primed after every time the pump is stopped (depending on different factors). The use of an NRV (non return valve) on the suction hose will reduce this issue.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
WARNING! It is the responsibility of the owner and the operator to read, understand and comply with the following:
You must check all electrical products, before each use, to ensure that they are safe. You must inspect power cables, plugs, sockets and any other connectors for wear or damage.
You must ensure that the risk of electric shock is minimised by the installation of appropriate safety devices; A residual current circuit Breaker (RCCB) should be incorporated in the main distribution board. A residual current device (RCD) with an operating current ≤30mA should be used. It is particularly important to use an RCD with portable products that are plugged into a supply which is not protected by an RCCB. If in any doubt consult a qualified electrician.
Connecting to the power supply:
The EP2M surface mounted water pump is supplied with standard 13A UK type plug fitted. Consult the technical specification table (page 9) for the required rating, if in doubt contact a qualified electrician. Before using the water pump, inspect the mains lead and plug to ensure that none are damaged. If any damage is visible have the water pump inspected / repaired by a suitably qualified person.
The wires for the plug are coloured in the following way:
- Yellow / green: Earth
- Blue: Neutral
- Brown: Live
As the colours of the wires may not correspond with the markings in your plug, proceed as follows:
The wire which is coloured brown, must be connected to the terminal, which is
marked L or coloured red (or brown).
The wire which is coloured blue, must be connected to the terminal marked with
N or coloured black (or blue).
The wire which is coloured yellow / green should be connected to the terminal
which is coloured the same or marked with this symbol
Always secure the wires in the plug terminal carefully and tightly. Secure the cable in the cord grip carefully and securely.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION…cont
Warning: Never connect live or neutral wires to the earth terminal of the plug. Only fit an approved plug with the correct rated fuse. If in doubt consult a qualified electrician.
Note: Always make sure the mains supply is of the correct voltage and the correct fuse, type and rating, is used.
Note: If an extension lead is
necessary in order to reach the mains supply; The
cross section should be checked so that it is of sufficient size so as to
reduce the chances of voltage drops; Always fully unwind the lead during use.
Note: The EP2M surface mounted water pump is supplied with standard 13A UK type plug and mains lead fitted. It is intended for sale and use in this configuration for the UK market only.
Warning: The water pump should be connected to the mains supply via an RCD (residual current device ) with an operating current ≤30mA to ensure that the power is cut should any problems occur.
