- The SP20286, SP20285, SP21025, SP21026 is intended for:
- Direct Venting: tankless water heaters
For SP20286, SP20285, SP21025, and SP21026 vent kits refer to the Condensing tankless water heater manufacturer’s installation instructions for model exclusions!

CODES AND LOCAL UTILITY REQUIREMENTS GOVERNING THE INSTALLATION OF GAS FIRED EQUIPMENT, WIRING, PLUMBING, AND FLUE CONNECTIONS MUST Bl:°ADHERED TO. IN THE ABSENCE OF LOCAL CODES, THE INSTALLATION MUST CONFORM TO THE NATIONAL FUEL GAS CODE ANSI Z223.1 “LATEST EDITION,” OR CSA-B149 INSTALLATION CODES. INSTALLATION – Side Wall Vent
This termination is for horizontal venting only.
Important: Avoid installing on the prevailing winter wind side of the
structure.
Note: Multi-venting common venting. · Refer to specific product l&O for
instructions.
FIGURE 1 VENT KIT INSTALLATION OPTIONS:
NOTE: Install the vent and air intake piping into the vent plate
openings. Seal all gaps between the pipes and the wall. Be Sure to Use
Silicone Sealant to seal the vent pipe to the vent cap to permit field
disassembly for annual inspection and cleaning
Also, seal all pipe penetrations in the wall. To prevent the possibility of
condensate freeze or recirculation, do not install vent kits one above the
other.
Note:
- The vent should protrude a maximum of 2-1/4″ beyond the vent plate. The air intake should protrude a maximum of 1 inch beyond the vent plate. Use the vent plates as a template to locate the vent, combustion air and (4) mounting holes. Observe minimum clearances. For 3″ pipe cut (2) 3-7 /8″ diameter holes for the vent and combustion air openings.
- For 2″ pipe cut (2) 2-3/4″ diameter holes for the vent and combustion air openings.
- Drill (4) 3/16″ diameter holes for inserting the plastic anchors into the wall.
- Attach the vent plate to the wall with (4) – 2″ long stainless steel screws.
- Assemble the vent cap to the vent plate. Insert the (4) 1″ long stainless steel screws into the vent cap screw-hole opening and securely attach the vent cap to the vent plate. Seal all wall cavities.
