Product Usage Instructions

Installation

The gas furnace can be installed in the following locations:

  • Utility room
  • Basement
  • Enclosed alcove or closet

Ensure that the installation is done according to local regulations and guidelines.

Free-Standing Installation

  • If installing the gas furnace as a free-standing unit, ensure that it is placed on a level and stable surface.
  • Leave adequate space around the furnace for proper ventilation and access for maintenance.

Enclosed Installation

  • If installing the gas furnace in an enclosed space such as an alcove or closet, ensure that the space is properly ventilated to prevent buildup of exhaust gases.
  • Follow local building codes and guidelines for ventilation requirements.

Gas Furnace Operation

To operate the gas furnace:

  1. Ensure that the gas supply is turned on and the furnace is connected to a reliable power source.
  2. Set the desired temperature on the thermostat.
  3. The furnace will automatically ignite and start heating the air.
  4. The blower fan will circulate the heated air throughout the designated area.
  5. The furnace will continue to operate until the desired temperature is reached or the thermostat setting is adjusted.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular maintenance and cleaning of the gas furnace is important to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for maintenance tasks such as filter replacement, lubrication, and inspection of components.     • A: Yes, this furnace series is approved and certified by the SCAQM and the SJVAPC Districts in the state of California. However, for installations in SCAQMD only, this furnace does not meet the SCAQMD Rule 1111 NOx emission limit and is subject to a mitigation fee of up to $450.

Single Stage Upflow/Horizontal and Downflow Gas Furnaces

This furnace series is approved and certified by the SCAQM and the SJVAPC Districts in the state of California under each Districts’ Mitigation Fee Plan for shipment into and sales in both districts.
For California installations in SCAQMD only: This furnace does not meet the SCAQMD Rule 1111 NOx emission limit (14 ng/J), and thus is subject to a mitigation fee of up to $450. This furnace is not eligible for the Clean Air Furnace Rebate Program: www.CleanAirFurnaceRebate.com.

  • Color coded wire harness: Designed to fit the components, all with quick-connect fittings for ease of service and replacement.
  • High static blowers: All models equipped with high static blowers.
  • 60 second cooling cycle blower-off delay (TDR): increases cooling performance when matched with a Nortek Global HVAC coil.
  • Flexible category I venting system: May be vented with dedicated venting system or common vented with other category one appliances.
  • Multi-speed direct drive blower: Energy-efficient, brushless DC (ECM). Designed to give a wide range of cooling capacities. Dip switches on PCB provide easy motor speed selection.
  • LP convertible: Simple burner orifice and regulator spring change for ease of convertibility.
  • Integrated control board: Incorporates connections for electronic air cleaner and humidifier. Ergonomically located for ease of service.
  • Two piece door design: Enhances furnace appearance and uses captured screws to prevent losing door screws.
  • Blower Compartment: Insulated for ultra quiet operation.
  • Furnace Air Leakage: These furnaces comply with Energy Star cabinet air leakage requirement of less than or equal to 2%. Keep the conditioned air flowing to where it’s needed.
