HOW TO PICK YOUR JALIE SIZE

• Use the size corresponding to your full bust measurement.
• If your measurements fall between two sizes, use the larger size.
• Lengthen/shorten if your torso measurement is not the same as the torso measurement for your size in the chart.

UNLESS OTHERWISE INSTRUCTED

• Sew this garment 1 cm (⅜’’) from the edge.
• Pieces are assembled right sides together.

KEYHOLE OPENING
(OPTIONAL FOR SIZES R TO GG)

• Press to mark the center back and center of facing (1) and mark the length of the opening on both sides of the facing (mark on the pattern).
• Apply interfacing to the wrong side of the facing and fi nish edges with the serger or by folding to the wrong side by approximately 6 mm (¼’’) and topstitching (2).
• Pin facing to back, right sides together, matching the centers. Trace around the opening line, about 2 mm (1/16’’) from the center (3).
• Sew with a short straight stitch  (12 stitches per inch / approx. 2 mm stitch length) on the line you traced (4).
• Slash on the center line (5), up to but without cutting the thread (6).
• Understitch (press seam allowance toward the facing and stitch through all layers) (7).
• Bring wrong side of facing against wrong side of back, press, and baste top edges together within the seam allowance (8).
  

ASSEMBLY

• Pin front (A) to back (B) at shoulder seams and stitch (9). If desired, make a stay stitch at 4 mm ( 3 /16’’).

• Pin sleeve (C) to armhole, matching notches, and the clip at the center of the sleeve cap with the shoulder seam and stitch (10).

• Pin side and underarm seams and stitch starting at the top clip, going towards the sleeve hem AS SHOWN (11). The front and bottom edges will NOT be aligned, that’s normal.
  If you fi nish your seams with a serger, stop at the first clip.

• Align bottom edges of hem and stitch from bottom edge to BOTTOM clip (12).

• Bring excess fabric as shown, right sides together, and stitch (13 back, 14 front).

• Turn right side out and press. Topstitch 1 cm (⅜’’) from the top edge (15).
  

BACK LOOP (OPTIONAL FOR SIZES R TO GG)

• Fold loop piece (F) in half, lengthwise, on right sides together, and stitch down the center (16).
• Clip as shown to turn it right side out with a hairpin (17). Cut a piece to 5 cm (2’’) length (18).
• Fold in half and baste ends together (19)
• Pin RIGHT SIDE of neckline binding piece (E) to WRONG SIDE of the neckline, leaving a 1 cm (⅜’’) excess at center back on both sides (20).
• Stitch 6 mm (¼’’) from the edge and clip (21).
• Fold ends of binding over to the right side of the back opening (22) and stitch as shown and turn the corner right side out by pressing the binding away from the garment.
• Pin loop to the right side of the back, just below the seam, and baste (23).
• Bring the wrong side over the right side of the neckline to cover the seam allowance (24).
• Flip-wrapped seam allowance over, pin, and topstitch, close to the bottom edge (25).
• Sew a button on the binding (26) on the side opposite the loop.

NECKLINE WITHOUT OPENING (SIZES R TO GG ONLY)

• Sew ends of neckline binding right sides together to form a loop (27). Mark the center with a pin.
• Pin RIGHT SIDE of neckline binding piece (E) to WRONG SIDE of the neckline, matching centers.
• Stitch 6 mm (¼’’) from the edge (28) and clip (29).
• Press the binding away from the garment.
• Bring the wrong side over the right side of the neckline to cover the seam allowance (30).
• Flip-wrapped seam allowance over (31), pin and topstitch, close to the bottom edge (32).

SLEEVE – VIEW A

• Fold sleeve hem to the wrong side by 2 cm (¾’’) and press (33).
• Fold the raw edge under so its against the inside of the crease and topstitch (34).
  

SLEEVE – VIEW B

• Fold sleeve hem to the wrong side by 2 cm (¾’’) and press (33).
• Fold the raw edge under so it’s against the inside of the crease and topstitch, leaving a 2.5 cm (1’’) opening (35) to feed the elastic through (36).
• Overlap and stitch elastic ends together (37). Bring back into the casing and topstitch closed (38).
