CRUTCHFIELD Metra 70-1784 Receiver Wiring Adaptor
MATCH & CONNECT WIRES
IMPORTANT: Before starting, compare items on your invoice with items received. Thoroughly check packing materials. If an item is missing, please call Crutchfield at 1-888-955-6000.
A. Match wires below to the matching function of each wire on your
receiver (refer to instructions supplied with receiver). The wire colors of
your new receiver may, or may not match the colors of the adaptor. Match
adaptor and receiver wires by function, disregarding color.
B. See pages 2 and 3 for application variations for Red and Yellow wires
for specific vehicles.
C. See page 4 for application pin locations for the Blue and Blue/White
wires for specific vehicles.
D. Individually tape off any unused wires.
NOTE: If your vehicle isn’t listed on pages 2 & 3, use the functions listed here. The function of the Red and Yellow wires is reversed in some vehicle applications. In others, the Yellow wire is not used. See the charts on pages 2 & 3 to verify your vehicle application.
NOTE: See page 4 for pin locations and connections to be made with the Blue and Blue/White wires. If your vehicle is not listed on page 4, these wires will not be used.
RED & YELLOW WIRES
The Red and Yellow wires must be reversed when this wiring adaptor is used in the vehicles listed below:
Yellow connects to 12V switched power. Red connects to 12V constant power. Return to page 1 for all other connections.

IMPORTANT: If your vehicle is not listed above, see the list on the next page for vehicles that do not use the Yellow wire.
RED & YELLOW WIRES
The Red wire in this wiring adaptor is used as 12V constant power
in the vehicles listed below. You will need to connect your receiver’s 12V
switched power wire to a switched power source in your vehicle. The Yellow
wire will not be used and should be taped off. Return to page 1 for all other
connections.

BLUE & BLUE/WHITE WIRES|

If your vehicle is not in this list, these wires will not be used. If your
vehicle is in this list, use the Blue and Blue/White wires as listed below.
Connect the Blue/White wire to the receiver’s amp remote wire. Connect the
Blue wire to the receiver’s power antenna wire or the receiver’s amp
remote wire if it doesn’t have a power antenna wire. Refer to the illustration
on the right for wire placement.|

CRIMP CONNECTIONS
Tools & Parts Required
A. Strip wires back 1/2”.
B. Twist wires together and insert in crimp cap.
C. Squeeze middle of cap for tight connection.
D. Complete crimp connections for all necessary wires.
E. Be sure to wrap any wires from the Wiring Adaptor that are not
necessary (wires with no match from the new receiver) with electrical tape
.
APPLICATION
When ready to install the receiver, plug the Wiring Adaptor from the new receiver or receiver assembly into the factory radio harness(es) in the vehicle dash.
