PREFACE
Before leaving our factory, all pumps under-go a series of tests in which
everything is stringently checked.
By following our instructions carefully you should obtain many years of
service, under normal working conditions.
The advice on use and spares given in this document is for information only, and is not contractual. No guarantee is made against errors or omissions, or against damage rela-ting to the design, delivery or use of the pump. We are continually seeking to impro-ve the quality of our products, and reserve the right to make technical changes to them at any time without notice.
This document should help the user to:
- become familiar with the pump,
- learn how it can be used,
- avoid accidents arising from inappropriate use, maintenance, repair or transport by untrained staff,
- increase the pump’s reliability and endurance,
- ensure that it is used correctly, regularly maintained and quickly repaired, reducing repair costs and down-time.

Electrical connection
-
ELECTRICAL SAFETY: Operate this machine only on a supply equipped with a 30 mAear-thed current-limiting circuit-breaker. Otherwise, consult our catalogue for appropriate models.
-
The RCCB must be used correctly, including testing it regularly. For tools supplied with an integral RCCB in the cable or in the mains plug, if the cable or plug has been damaged, repairs must be carried out by the manufacturer, one of his agents or by a qualified repair work-shop to avoid any risks resulting from errors.
-
Make sure your mains voltage matches the one given on the pump’s identification plate
-
Only use single-phase earthed three-pin plugs
-
Use the appropriate mains cable: single-phase 3×1 mm2
-
If using an extension cable, make sure it is thick enough for the cur-rent. Up to 50 metres: 1.5 mm2. Above that, double the section.
-
If plugging into a temporary mains board, make sure it has a 30 mA earth leakage circuit breaker.
Place the machine on a dry surfa-ce or dry ground
If the motor will not start when set to 1 (Start), then:
- Check the power supply to the site (fuses, cut-out switch)
- Check the extension lead (wrongly connected, faulty wire)
- Check the cable is properly plugged in
- Check the on-off switch
Before checking the machine, unplug it from the supply.
Starting
- When setting up, follow the instructions for use and protection
- Plug in the pump and connect it to the accessory
- Once started, the vacuum gauge will register -0.8 bar very quickly.
Maintenance
- Check the condition of the filter very regularly. It should not contain dust or water. If it does, clean it:
- Unscrew the carboy and remove the filter
- Clean them both and reassembler.
- Check regularly whether the cylinder head filter needs cleaning:
- Unscrew the four cylinder head screws.
- Extract the filter (see exploded diagram)
- Clean the filter with a jet from the centre outwards.
- Check that all the openings are clear.
- Clean the openings if necessary.
- Re-assemble the filter and the cylinder head.

For fast delivery of spares and to save time, remind your supplier each time of the type of pump, the year you bought it, and the reference of the replacement part.
Scrapping
In the event of deterioration and scrapping of the machine, the following
items must be disposed of in accordance with the requirements of the
legislation in force.
Main materials :
- Motor : Aluminium (AL) – Steel (AC), Copper (CU) – Polyamide (PA)
Machine : Steel sheet (AC) – Stainless steel.
The instructions for use and spare parts found in this document are for
information only and are not binding.
As part of our product quality improvement policy, we reserve the right to
make any and all technical modifications without prior notice.
