TERMINAL CONNECTIONS: please follow the Figure of the terminal connections table

  • Mod.01 and 02: single function – only emptying or only filling (Fig.1). The grounding wire is always yellow and green.

  • Mod.04: double function (the fitter can choose the emptying (Fig.2) or filling (Fig.3) when installing):
Emptying: (Fig.2) when black and brown wires are used, the circuit opens when float is down and closes when the float is up. Note: the blue/grey wire must be insulated.
Filling: (Fig.3) when black and blue/grey wires are used, the circuit closes when float is down and opens when the float is up. Note: the brown wire must be insulated.

  • Mod.03: (Fig.4) and (Fig.5) with 400V* connections, only with single emptying function
*ATTENTION: with 400V connection on 3~phase systems must be used a rele into the electric circuit to guarantee the disconnection of the all three phases.

HOW TO FIX THE FLOAT SWITCH:

  • Version with float switch already attached to the pump (Fig.6a): follow the installation instructions supplied with the pump making sure that the float is free to move vertically.
  • Version with float switch and stainless steel AISI 304 bracket (Fig.7): used to fix the float switch to a pump. Thanks to the free rotation of the bracket, it is possible to save more space. Example of a pump housing of 100mm (3,94in) (Fig.7a) and pump housing of 120mm (4,72in) (Fig.7b)
  • Version with float switch and polypropylene bracket (Fig.8): used to fix the float switch with plastic clamps (included) to a tube (Fig.6b) or to fix it with screws (not included) to a wall (Fig.6c)
  • Version with float switch and threaded support (Fig.9) or flanged support (Fig.10): this version includes, for example, the installation of the float switch on lids, containers, tanks making a threaded or flanged hole of 2″(the flanged hole also provides for the drilling of the next two 5mm holes to keep locked the entire float switch).

USE:

The float is a level controller that allows the user to bring the water levels at certain heights with a minimum and maximum range of use varies according to the data in the “Technical Specifications” table. To change the field of use, increase or decrease the distance between the floating units of maximum and minimum level unscrewing the screw fastened to the floating unit by means of a screwdriver with cross head and screwing with force. Make sure that the floating unit is locked securely. The water will act on the floating body when it is approximately half of this. It’s possible to set the operation of the float in automatic (ON / OFF) or manual (always ON) via the manual switch on the head of the float.
NOTES: DO NOT TAMPER THE FLOAT SWITCH

  • Before any operation on the float remember to disconnect the power supply from the main power.
  • Check that the maximum motor power does not exceed the float’s electrical values.
  • The electrical cable is part of the floating switch, thus in case of cable damage, the float itself has to be replaced.

No joints should be made on the float switch cable, as immersion of such joints could cause short circuits or electrical shocks.
