Ensure that your smaXtec Base Station SX.2 is activated and ready for use before starting the activation of the Climate Sensor. -

The Climate Sensor comes with two built-in AA alkaline batteries. To change the batteries, remove the unit from the wall and place it on a table or another flat surface. Make sure the area is dry. Then, open the integrated battery compartment on the side using a flat object, such as a coin. Only use 1.5V AA alkaline batteries, not lithium batterie -

Selection of suitable position and mounting
MOUNTING
Select an appropriate spot for the Climate Sensor. Consider the following aspects:
- Alignment: The Climate Sensor has to be mounted vertically.
- The position should allow air circulation to the measurement port on the front of the Climate Sensor.
- Note range: up to 100m/300ft from the smaXtec Base Station.
- Avoid construction elements between Base Station and the Climate Sensor that reduce range.
- Note height: ideally 2–3m/8–10ft (out of reach of cows)
- Select neutral locations that are representative of the barn climate to generate clean data (no direct sunlight, no water source close by)
After selecting a suitable position, you can mount the Climate Sensor. You will need four screws. Mount the device in the desired position using a cordless drill.
