Your Xfinity remote can be paired with Xfinity X1 and Flex streaming devices,
allowing you to control the TV Box even when it’s out of sight, such as in an
entertainment center or in another room (up to 50 feet away). Follow the
instructions by entering the three-digit, on-screen pairing code. Tap the TV
icon, pick your TV Box, and then pick Setup a remote. Note: Once your remote
is successfully paired with a TV Box, it won’t control any other TV Box until
paired with the other TV Box. Press and hold the xfinity and Mute buttons
together for five seconds until the light at the top changes from red to
green. Press the Setup button on your remote until the LED at the top changes
from red to green.
Follow the on-screen instructions. Then follow these steps: If it has a Setup
button: Turn on your TV. If you’re still having issues (XR16 Voice Remote for
Flex without number buttons), perform a factory reset: Simultaneously press
and hold the Info (i) button and the Home button (house icon) until the status
light on the remote blinks.
You can program your Xfinity Voice Remote to work with your TV and audio/video
(AV) receiver, like a sound bar and other pieces of audio equipment. Xfinity
remotes can be identified by the model number on the back panel or within the
battery compartment of the remote. Press and hold the xfinity and Info buttons
for five seconds.
Press and hold Setup until the light at the top of the remote changes from red
to green. Need more help with your Voice Remote? If the TV turns on, you’re
all set! If it doesn’t have a Setup button but has number buttons (XR15 Voice
Remote for X1 or Flex): Turn on your TV. Keep pressing CH ^ until the TV turns
off. Once your Voice Remote is paired, follow the on-screen instructions to

to the XR16 Voice Remote (Flex only, no number keys): Turn on your streaming
device and TV. Open the Xfinity My Account app on your Apple or Android mobile
device.
Press the xfinity button on the remote. The light should flash green twice.
Aim the remote at the TV Box and press the Microphone (Voice) button. Press
Power, then Last (Volume Down (-) on your remote in sequence to complete a
factory reset.
The LED will begin flashing green. Follow the on-screen instructions that come
up on your TV to finish setup. Aim the remote at the TV, and press the Power

remote. Set the TV input to the input connected to the Xfinity TV Box.
Press the TV power button on the remote. Choose Remote Setup on your TV. Swipe
to find the remote control model you need to program, and tap Continue. Check
the back of the remote or inside the battery compartment for a model number
like XR-11, XR-15 or XR-16 (no number buttons). Enter 9-9-1. If you have
Xfinity X1 or Xfinity Flex, follow these steps to pair the remote with your TV
Box – you can even control it when it’s out of sight. Once the on-screen
pairing code is correctly entered, your Voice Remote is paired with the TV
Box. You can also: Press the A button on your remote. If the remote light
blinks red then green, the code is incorrect.

your Xfinity Voice Remote. Not sure which remote you have? Note: While the TV
is on (TV Box must be activated first), you can also press and hold the
xfinity and Mute buttons on the remote for five seconds until the light at the
top changes from red to green, then follow the on-screen instructions to pair
the Voice Remote to control your TV. Xfinity remotes can only be paired with
one TV Box at a time.

pull tab on the back of the remote to activate it. Press and hold the
Microphone (Voice) button and say, “Program remote.” You can also get there by
navigating to the Settings page, selecting Remote Settings and then Voice
remote pairing. Or, go to the Remote Code Lookup Tool for pictures of our most

remote is paired with the TV Box. Make sure the remote batteries are installed
and your TV and TV Box are powered on. Learn more about all our Xfinity
remotes.
If it doesn’t have a Setup button and doesn’t have number buttons (XR16 Voice
Remote for Flex): Make sure your TV and TV Box are on. If the TV turns off,
turn the TV back on and make sure the Volume and Mute buttons work. Make sure
the Voice Remote batteries are installed and your TV and TV Box are powered

button up to five times). If you’re an Xfinity TV customer without X1 or Flex,
see these instructions to program your remote from your non-X1 TV Box instead.
Once your Voice Remote is paired, follow the on-screen instructions to set up
power, volume and input control for your TV and audio equipment. You can also
use our online Remote Code Lookup tool or the Xfinity My Account app. Wait for
the Voice Remote light to change from red to green. Then click Continue and
follow the steps in the tool to program your remote.
Go to the Remote Code Lookup tool and pick the Voice Remote you have. If the remote light blinks green twice, the code is correct. These instructions apply to the following remote models: XR11 (Voice Remote), XR5 and XR2.
Type the first five-digit code for the TV manufacturer. You may need to press
the xfinity button multiple times if there is more than one TV Box in range.
If you can’t find the code in the lookup tool, check to see if your remote has
a Setup button. Follow the instructions that come up on your TV to finish
setting up. Note: These instructions apply to the XR15 Voice Remote (X1 or
Flex). See our frequently asked questions. Note: If you do not see on-screen
pairing instructions after pressing the xfinity button in step four, press the
xfinity button again. Once the TV turns off, press Setup to lock in the code.
