Operation

To operate the device:

1. Remove the battery compartment cover on the back.
2. Insert an AAA battery, observing the correct polarity.
3. The measuring device is then immediately ready for use.

Display

The LCD display shows the following information:

• I—-1 to 5—-I: Batteries are empty and need to be replaced.
• Rechargeable batteries are already fully discharged and need to be charged immediately. Discharging rechargeable batteries down to this field should be avoided.
• I—————I—– 6 to 11——-I: Batteries have weak energy remaining and can only be used to a limited extent in low current requirement devices (e.g., clocks).
• Rechargeable batteries have reached the recharging point and should be charged as soon as possible. I—————I——————–l——-12 to 18——-I:
• Batteries are OK with sufficient stored energy. Rechargeable batteries only reach 13/14 bars at full charge due to lower cell voltages.
• If the display falls quickly, the battery/rechargeable battery is faulty and should not be used anymore, as it has a high internal resistance during measurement.

Care and Maintenance

To ensure proper care and maintenance:

• Disconnect the device from the mains before cleaning and during prolonged periods of non-use.

Measurements

Follow these steps for measurements:

1. Only test one battery/rechargeable battery at a time.
2. Select the testing field according to the size of the battery or use the appropriate shapes of the housing. The corresponding designations of the batteries are imprinted into the housing.
3. Insert button cells with the positive pole facing upwards.
4. Ensure correct polarity and secure contact. Do not position batteries at an angle. Button cells must lie on the lateral measuring contact.
5. The LCD bar display shows the test object’s residual voltage.

Safety instructions

• The product is intended for private, non-commercial use only.
• Protect the product from dirt, moisture and overheating and use it in dry rooms only.

• Before you insert the batteries, clean the battery contacts and the polarity contacts.
• Do not allow children to change batteries without supervision.
• Do not mix old and new batteries, or batteries of different types or from different manufacturers.
• Remove the batteries from products that are not being used for an extended period (unless these are being kept ready for an emergency).
• Do not short-circuit batteries.
• Do not charge batteries.
• Do not burn batteries.
• Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
• Never open, damage or swallow batteries or allow them to enter the environment. They can contain toxic, environmentally harmful heavy metals.
• Remove spent batteries from the product and dispose of them without delay.
