Product Usage Instruction

Set up and Installation

How to install the front camera

  1. Remove dirt and grease from the windshield and attach the electrostatic adsorption sheet to the windshield.
  2. Peel off the double-sided tape attached to the GPS built-in bracket and attach it on the electrostatic adsorption sheet on the windshield.
  3. Strengthen the fixing force, do not attach the main body and leave it for 24 hours or more.
  4. Re-sticking may weaken the adhesive strength of the tape and cause it to fall.
  5. Connect the cigar plug cord/Type-C connector in the correct orientation.
  6. Connecting in the wrong direction may cause malfunction or damage. If you cannot connect successfully, check the connection part carefully.

How to install the rear camera

  1. Plug in the connecting cable to the V-IN Port on the front dash cams.
  2. Check the installation location before you secure the rear camera to the rear windshield. After securing the rear camera to the windshield, it is hard to remove the camera or change the installation location due to the strong adhesive.

Memory Card Installation
To install a memory card, follow these steps:

  1. Open the micro SD card slot cover located on the product.
  2. Insert the memory card into the slot with the label side facing up.
  3. Push the memory card gently until it clicks into place.
  4. Close the micro SD card slot cover.

APP download and Installation
To download and install the APP, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the app store on your mobile device.
  2. Search for “HawkEvo” and select the appropriate app.
  3. Tap on “Install” to download and install the app.

GPS Player Installation
To install the GPS player, follow these steps:

  1. Connect the product to your computer using the short Type-C USB cable.
  2. Open the file explorer on your computer and locate the product.
  3. Copy the GPS player installation file to the product.
  4. Disconnect the product from your computer.
  5. Open the GPS player installation file on the product to start the installation process.

Basic Operation

Video Settings
To adjust video settings, follow these steps:

  1. Open the HawkEvo app on your mobile device.
  2. Select the appropriate dash cam device.
  3. Navigate to the video settings section.
  4. Adjust the desired settings such as resolution, frame rate, etc.
  5. Save the settings.

System Settings

  1. Open the HawkEvo app on your mobile device.

  3. Navigate to the parking mode settings section.
  4. Enable parking mode by toggling the switch to “ON”.
  5. Adjust the desired settings such as motion detection sensitivity, etc.
  6. Save the settings.

Set up and Installation

How to install the front camera

  1. Remove dirt and grease from the windshield and attach the electrostatic adsorption sheet to the windshield.
    How to use the electrostatic adsorption sheet?
    Since the adhesive strength is strong on both sides and it is difficult to peel. offense it is pasted, it will be troublesome if the pasting position is incorrect.
    Therefore, the electrostatic adsorption sheet is attached to the windshield. You can easily readjust by sticking the double-sided tape on the mount and peeling it off.

  2. Peel off the double-sided tape attached to the GPS built-in bracket and attach it on the electrostatic adsorption sheet on the windshield.

  3. Strengthen the fixing force, do not attach the main body and leave it for 24 hours or more.

  5. Insert the attached cigar plug cord/Type-C into the jack of the main body and the cigar lighter/USB socket of the vehicle.

  6. Connect the cigar plug cord/Type-C connector in the correct orientation.

  7. Connecting in the wrong direction may cause malfunction. damage. If you cannot connect successfully, check the connection part carefully.

How to install the rear camera

  1. Plug in the connecting cable to the V-IN Port on the front dash cams.
  2. Check the installation location before you secure the rear camera to the rear windshield. After securing the rear camera to the windshield, it is hard to remove the camera or change the installation location due to the strong adhesive.
  3. Securely press the Rear Camera to the rear windshield to mount. Ensure the lens itself is centered on the windshield, and not the camera’s body.

NOTE

  • For safe driving, install and wire so that it does not obstruct the driver’s view or drive. It is recommended to install within 20% of the entire windshield from the top of the windshield.
  • Please use the original power cable provided in the package, do not use other power cables. Another power cable may make the camera mirror unstable or even damaged.
  • Do not use a Socket distributor.
  • Please tear off the films on the screen and lens before using them.
  • Connect all accessories before turning on the power.
  • Do not connect or disconnect the rear camera cable while the power is on. It will be the cause of the failure.
  • When installing the rear camera, make sure that the image is not upside down on the LCD screen of this product before installing it.
Memory Card installation
  1. Insert the SD Card into the SD card Slot
  2. The Micro SD Card shall be formatted before using
  3. The Dash Cam supports a Micro SD card U3 32GB-256GB. Suggested Micro SD card brands: Samsung, Sandisk

APP download and installation

Step 1. APP download address

Step 2. Turn on the WiFi network, in the Dash Cam “Settings” option (enabled by default)

Step 3. Connect your phone to the Dash Cam’s WiFi network. Open the mobile phone Setting page, select WLAN selection, and connect HawkEvo-**Network, Password default: 12345678

Step 4. Open the “Dash Go” APP to stream/preview videos

GPS Player Installation

Basic Operation

Video Settings
  • Resolution:
    Video Capture Resolution Single Front 4K, Front and Rear 4K+1080P

  • Loop Recording

    • Options: Off/1min/2mins/3mins
      Save the video for the setting time. When the card is full, the oldest video will be automatically overwritten.
  • G-sensor

    • Options: Off/Low/Medium/High
      If the G-sensor is activated, When limitation braking/Shocking/Vibration Occurs during recording, the existing recording video file will be automatically entered to locked mode.
  • Back Mirror

    • Options: On/Off
    • Turn on/off the mirror/original image of the rear camera.
  • Screen Save Set

    • Options: Screensaver2/Screensaver1
    • Note: Please turn the auto display off function before setting this function.
    • Screensaver1: The display will off but keep recording. Screensaver 2: The display will show the date, time, and speed only, but keep recording.
  • Auto display off Options: Off/1min/3mins/5mins
    If you set the screen saver time, the screen will enter the blank screen according to the setting time to protect the screen.

  • Motion Detection

    • Options: On/Off
      If Motion Detection is on, the device will record a 10-second video when the sensor detects any movement in front of the device.
  • WDR

    • Options: On/Off
      If WDR is ON, the device can work in both brighter- and darker areas at night.
  • Sharpness

    • Options: Strong/ NormaI /Soft.
      The higher the sharpness, the Defter the sharpness, but the image is more prone to noise.
  • Date Stamp

    • Options: On/Off
      Set to On or Off as desired. If On is selected, the date and time will be imprinted and recorded on video.
System settings
  • WIFI

    • Options: On/Off Turn On/Off WIFI, View wifi SSID and password
  • Camera Display

    • Options: Front camera/Rear camera/split Screen Select the display interface.
      Eg: Set it to Rear camera: the default screen will show the rear camera when the camera is powered on.
  • Speed Display
    Turn on/ off the Speed display

  • Format
    This function will format(erase all data) the Micro SD card. Warning: When formatting the card, all files will be erased. Upload all files you would like to save on your PC before you start to format the card.

  • Speed Watermark

    • Options: On/Off
      When the speed watermark is turned on, the speed watermark will be displayed in the video. The speed watermark can also be turned off at your selected speed.
  • Time Zone
    Select the time zone according to the current area. After selecting a time zone, the system date and time will be updated automatically after receiving the GPS signal.

  • Language

    • Options: English/French/Portuguese/Italian/Chinese/pyccknn/Vietnamese/Japanese/German
  • Beep Sound

    • Options: On/Off
      To turn on/off the beep sound, not including the power on/off sound.
  • Default Setting
    Reset all settings to factory preset. Please set it carefully, the original personalized setting parameters will not exist after- setting.

  • Gesture Sensor

    • Options: Take a picture/ Lock the video
      There is a touch sensor on the bottom of the camera. When an object or human body approaches the sensor, it will triggered to take a picture oi- locking the current file.

Parking Mode ( Optional )

Options: On/Off

  • If the camera doesn’t connect to the hardwire kit, this function will not show in the setting.
  • Please note that the parking monitor only works when the hardwire kit is connected, please connect to the hardwire kit if want to use this function.
  • A hardwire kit is required for this feature and needs to be purchased separately.
    • OFF (Default) ON

Hardwire Kit Installation

  1. Open the fuse box
  2. Find the correct fuse port
  3. Connect the fuse adapter
  4. Ground the black wire to any metal part around
  5. Hide the wire and route it to the dash cam position

FAQ

Q1: My phone can’t connect to the camera’s WIFI.

  1. Make sure the Dash Cam Wi-Fi network is turned on.
  2. Check whether the WIFI password is entered incorrectly.
  3. Check if there are metal barriers between the phone and the camera, which will affect the WIFI signal.
  4. Turn on the WIFI again. (The WIFI may off automatically because no operation for a long time)

Q2: The device will automatically turn on or turn off.

  1. Please format the memory card to FAT32 format on the PC then format it in the camera.
  2. Check the car charger connection status, if the connection is loose, and the power supply is not stable the camera will automatically turn on and off.

Q3: The rear camera does not display an image.

  1. Please switch the camera display mode to double-check the rear camera status.
  2. Please check whether the AV plug is in place and the cable is connected correctly.
  3. Try to disconnect the camera clean the connector with some Medical alcohol and connect it again.

Q4: My Samsung could not connect to the app, but my other phone connected successfully.

  1. Turn off the mobile network.
  2. Follow the user manual to connect the WIFI of the camera
  3. After connecting to the Wi-Fi, turn on the mobile network again.
