GENERAL INFORMATION
CHECK ALL SPECIFICATIONS LOCATED ON SAFETY LABELATTACHED TO YOUR UNIT
STEP 1. SAFETY CHECK LIST
WARNING: Inflatable Games are very heavy—do not attempt to roll or move these games by yourself
-
Do not inflate in high winds or rain— High winds are considered to be 15 mph or higher
-
Inspect the site, look for overhead and underground obstructions— such as utilities
-
Call your local utility to have utility lines marked (call 3–5 days ahead)— call811.com is a good resource— ‘click’ 811 in Your State
-
Use an adequate three wire extension cord, min. 12 gauge for 50ft.—never cut or remove the round grounding pin from the cord
-
Always connect a GFCI extension cord adapter to any extension cord before plugging into a power source— this reduces the possibility of shock in wet environments
-
A GFCI extension cord adapter can be purchased at most Do-It-Yourself type stores
-
Check the GFCI operation at least once per event
-
Before staking unit into the ground, obtain marking and location information from the utility companies if there is a possibility of striking underground utilities
-
Remove all occupants if wind becomes excessive—deflate unit, if wind continues
STEP 2. SITE LAYOUT
- Pick a location free from overhead electrical power or telephone lines— location should be free from trees, also
- Any nearby obstruction should be at least 5 feet away from inflatable
- Clear any debris, spread tarps (sold separately) on the slide/bounce house location, to protect unit— ‘tarps are cheaper than inflatables’
- Locate the blower in an area that is not in a direct pathway—be sure the blower is on a flat and dry surface.
Recommended Tools and Equipment:
Sledge Hammer, Ground Tarp, Hand Truck or 4 Wheel Dolly, Crowbar/stake remover Safety Goggles, GFCI Extension Adapter, 50´ or 100´ 12AWG Extension Cord
STEP 3. UNROLL AND POSITIONING
- Carefully place unit, using dolly, at one end of tarp—it’s easier to move at this stage!
- See (drawing), find back end of game and roll onto tarp
- (Make a mental note or snap a picture of how the inflatable is folded and positioned as you unroll the game. This will be beneficial when you re-roll the game later)
- Check location, make any adjustments before inflation—unfold unit completely
- Drive a couple stakes through the anchor straps, before inflating (if there is a slight wind) — restake later See (pg. 3) for proper staking
STEP 4. WATER BLADDER MISTING SYSTEM
(water slides and combos only)
- Just before inflation, connect the bladder system (water units only)
- Most water slides have water bladder systems built into the unit—it keeps the slide wet
- Start by taking your garden hose through the hose loops (side of inflatable)— begin at lowest loop
- Then, locate bladder opening and attach hose
- After the unit is fully inflated and you’re ready for use, turn on water supply— leave it running (minimum pressure) for the duration
Note: Make sure landing pool is filled to the minimum water level mark (for water slides), before and during use
STEP 5. INFLATION TUBES
- Plug the blower power cord into the GFCI extension, then plug the GFCI extension into the extension cord—connect the fan cone to the inflation tube
- Many games have two inflation tubes— both will used for large games
- When only one is required, use the one that is most convenient
- Close off the unused inflation tube
- Plug the extension cord into the power source
- Check the inflation tube to make sure it is properly attached to the blower fan —the inflation tube must be properly closed around the fan outlet cone to prevent large air leakage
- Close all vents (if applicable)
STEP 6. PROPER STAKING
- Locate the on/off switch (if applicable) on the fan and turn it on—observe the inflation of the inflatable as it rises
- Do not place fingers or hands into the fan intake or outlet when the fan is operating
- Once inflated, check for any rips, holes, or damaged seams
- When properly inflated, all inflated areas of the game will become pressurized and firm
- When inflation is almost finished, check the positioning of the stakes—hammer them all the way in— see (drawing)
Note: If you set up on concrete or indoors, secure with sand bags or water bags and additional tether straps
SET-UP WARNINGS:
- Adult set-up and supervision required. Keep children away from the blower.
- Place inflatable on firm, level ground—grass filled lawn, for proper staking.
- Do not use extension cords with this inflatable device.
- Do not place under or near overhead electrical lines.
- Set-up, unroll and inflate at the location that the unit will be used.
- Keep all electrical lines, radio speakers and other electrical devices away from inflatable.
- Do not use inflatable if wind speed is 15 mph or above (wind may lift unit off the ground).
- Do not use in rain, strong wind or extreme weather conditions.
- Keep an obstacle free zone around unit of 5 to 7 feet.
- Make sure ground is free of any debris. Never drag inflatables across rough surfaces.
- Basic blower use; connect to the longest inflation tube and close or tie other tube and any oulet vents.
- Do not place blower on wet surface. If the blower gets wet, allow it to dry before use.
- Keep children away from blower and electrical cords.
- Leave blower running the entire time unit is being used.
- After unit is inflated, stake it to the ground using the required stakes.
- Some Combo slides require landing beds—make sure to use the correct POGO landing unit for that specific inflatable.
- Lastly, if your unit requires the use of a garden hose, attach and start correct limited water pressure— just enough for proper use. See (Inspection Check List), last page.
SAFETY WARNINGS:
- Risk of drowning! Watch children closely, especially young children. Drowning can occur in as little as 3 inches of water.
- Adult supervision required, at all times.
- Children with existing medical issues should not use this inflatable. Consult a physician if have any questions or concerns.
- Do not smoke in play area.
- Use of whistles are recommended, to call attention to a safety risk.
- If blower malfunction occurs, tighten blower vent and evacuate unit.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
INFLATABLE USE WARNINGS:
- ADULT SUPERVISION REQUIRED.
- Inflatable must be fully inflated and staked before anyone enters unit.
- Do not slide head first or on stomach
- Always slide down the slide feet first and with arms pulled in, close to body.
- No double sliding. One person slides and clear the landing zone, before next person slides.
- No jumping or diving in landing zone.
- Do not allow sliding until the landing zone is clear.
- No running or horseplay on or around unit.
- Do not slide down the climbing section of the inflatable.
- Rough play is not permitted, such as flips, wrestling, pushing.
- Children of matching height and weight should play together only (bounce house).
- No food, gum or drink allowed on unit.
- No glasses, jewelry, sharp objects
- No foot wear should touch the unit, damage may occur.
- Keep hands and feet off netting.
- No climbing up slide. Never stand on the slide.
- When temperatures are high check unit, as it may be unsafe and too hot to use.
- Check unit label for capacity and age requirement.
- Check stakes regularly. Check blower through out the day. Check for air leaks, around unit.
- Keep airborne trash/leaves clear of blower intake.
- If unit gets wet, dry same day by blowing air through it (the same blower set-up for using the inflatable).
DEFLATION AND FOLDING
Before deflation, remove all accessories that may be applicable to your unit—also be sure to use a quality broom and sweep the surface of the game free of any debris.
Check to make sure that no sharp objects have fallen into the seams of the
game, Eg. pens, pencils, etc.
—items such as these can cause damage to the inflatable during the rolling up
process
- Before deflating; Inspect for any damage and repair as necessary
- Clean and dry—blow baking soda through game, if needed, to remove odor
- Buckle any plastic snaps to reduce the possibility of entanglement in the netting
- Unplug blower at the power source
- Loosen first inflation/deflation tube strap and remove tube from blower cone —make sure tube is pulled away from the inflatable and is straight
- Loosen second inflation/deflation tube strap and pull tube away from inflatable
- Open all deflation flaps, on sides
- While the inflatable is deflating, remove stakes, put blower fan away, and store extension cord(s)
- Two people needed to fold
- Guide inflatable before all air is released —inward and to the front
- Begin folding inflatable—pull vertical peaks/shapes toward the front, to flatten and release more air
- Next, situate top of unit over the bottom, pancake style—and fold peaks into the middle, see (drawing)
- Once you make the folds, you will notice that air is still inside the game—start at the front and walk, in stocking feet, to the back—removing most of the air
- Work the air out towards the back of the unit through the inflation tube(s)
- Commercial inflatables take 5–15 minutes to completely deflate
CLEANING THE INFLATABLE
- Do not use M.E.K.(Methyl Ethyl Ketone) to try and clean your inflatable, as this will damage the vinyl
- Do not use a chlorine based cleaner or bleach, as this may damage the threads
- Do not use any cleaning products containing alcohol to try and clean your inflatable, as this will damage any printing that may be on your inflatable
- Use water and/or mild cleaner sparingly by sponging
- Excessive water or cleaner may penetrate the seams and collect inside of the tubes —also, bubbling from the seams during operation may occur
FINAL FOLD AND ROLL
-
Fold both sides into the center of unit— each person should place one foot on the game at the fold line
-
Fold at the same time—walk down the game and straighten out the seam
-
Repeat this procedure for the other half of the game
-
The roll; make sure that at least one of the inflation tubes is extending—as you roll the unit up, air will escape and the inflatable will roll much better
Important: twist the beginning of the ‘roll’ very tight -
Start your roll from the FRONT (opposite the inflation tube)
-
As you progress, be sure that the roll is straight and tight
SLIP KNOT (for rolled inflatable)
- Near the end, allow time for the last bit of air to escape
- Locate tie strap—pull to top of roll
- We recommend you tie a tight slip knot around the roll
- Stand the game on end—place the transport/storage bag over one end of the game and work it down as far as you can
STORAGE BAG – (you’re done)
- It is important that you work the bottom of the bag down to the top of the roll— flip the unit and pull the bag up over the top of the inflatable
- Tie the bag closed
- Lay the game onto a dolly and roll it to your designated storage area
WARNING: Inflatable Games are very heavy. Do not attempt to roll or move these games by yourself. When lifting any type of heavy weight, be sure to lift with your legs and not your back. If in doubt about your ability to move something, get help.
DAILY CHECKLIST
- Ensure maximum winds are less than the manufacture´s recommended wind speed requirement for unit.
- Ensure temperatures are greater than 40° F.
- Ensure that a minimum 12 gauge 3 wire extension cord is used with the blower and is connected to a CFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter).
- Ensure there are no obstructions in the blower(s), blower intake and the unit´s inflation tubes.
- Ensure unit is properly inflated.
- Ensure all tether points are secure. Check stakes.
- Ensure all deflation zippers and flaps are closed.
- Walk around the unit and inspect seams and search for wear damage.
RETURN POLICY
All not-in-stock inflatable games and products manufactured by POGO Bounce are considered custom built per order. In the event a not-in-stock inflatable product or order is canceled or returned for any reason not the fault of POGO Bounce, a 25% restocking charge may apply.
MAINTENANCE and INSPECTION
- The unit can be easily cleaned with a cloth or light brush. Use a vinyl cleaner and rinse lightly, to remove detergent before storing.
- Do not pack the unit when wet. If this is unavoidable lay the unit out to dry at the earliest opportunity.
- The unit should be inspected regularly for damage. If there is evidence of tearing at the anchor points or vinyl panels, the unit should not be used until the repair has been completed.
REPAIRS
-
To repair small tears up to 12″ use “Single Patch Method” as follows.
-
Cut an oval or round vinyl patch approximately 4″ larger than the cut.
-
Clean the area around the tear.
-
Apply SX-69 vinyl glue on the patch and on the surface of the inflatable.
-
Allow the manufacture´s recommended drying time before applying the patch to the inflatable as indicated on the label on the container.
-
Place the patch covering the cut area and apply pressure for 1 minute. Refer to the glue manufacture´s label for the recommended time for glue to dry once the patch is applied.
-
If the “Single Patch Method” is not a viable option use PatchALL* for a non-glue repair until you can apply the “Single Patch Method” or send the unit to a repair facility.
-
PatchALL are clear polyurethane patches or tape. They are quick, flexible, long lasting, airtight and waterproof—with no gluing.
