Important safety instructions
Save these instructions
This vacuum cleaner is for household use only. Read all instructions before
use. When using this electrical appliance basic precautions should be followed
including the following. Use only as described in this manual.
Warning
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury
- Refer all servicing to qualified servicing personnel. Servicing is required when the appliance has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid had been spilled or objects have fallen into the appliance, the appliance has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped. Do not use damaged device until service has been completed.
- The vacuum cleaner must only be charged using the included charge base and only be operated using the included battery pack. Do not replace with non-rechargeable batteries, only replace with Neato genuine batteries. Information on where to purchase replacement batteries can be found at NeatoRobotics.com.
- Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
- Do not vacuum floor with exposed electrical outlets.
- Only use attachments or accessories specified by Neato Robotics, Inc.
- See National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, specifically for the installation of wiring and clearances from power and lightning conductors.
- Do not install or use the charge base within 10 feet of a pool spa, fountain or similar location.
- Do not use the charge base in a bathroom.
- Keep away from water, chemicals.
- Make sure that your vacuum cannot get caught on tablecloths, curtains, hanging electric cords, or other cord-like items.
Children over 8 years old and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities can use the Vacuum cleaner if they are supervised or shown how to use it in a safe way and understand any hazards. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision. Children should not play with the robot. Routine cleaning and maintenance of the Neato Robot should be performed by adults.
- Do not pull or carry by power cord, use power cord as a handle, close door on the power cord, or pull the cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over power cord. Keep power cord away from heated surfaces.
- Do not use with damaged cord or plug.
- Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
- Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow.
- Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
- Turn off all controls before unplugging.
- Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present.
- Do not handle charger, including charger plug and charger terminal with wet hands.
- Do not charge the unit outdoors.
- Do not incinerate the appliance even if it is severely damaged. The batteries can explode in a fire.
- Do not use without dust bag and/or filters in place.
- Do not use to pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches or hot ashes.
- Do not sit, stand or step on the appliance.
- Before using the vacuum cleaner pick up loose objects like toys, clothing, loose papers, power cords, shoelaces, pull cords, and any other items that may become entangled or pulled by the cleaner. Pay particular attention to table lamps which can be pulled by the cleaner. Remove, block expensive items that could be damaged by the vacuum cleaner touching or pushing them.
- Used Battery Packs should be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
- If there is any evidence of the battery pack leaking, do not use the device.
- The battery pack must be removed from the appliance before shipping, storage (no use for two weeks) or disposal of the appliance.
- Do not crush, heat, or dismantle the battery pack.
- Do not place the battery pack near a heat source.
- Do not vacuum floor with an exposed electrical outlets.
- Do not short circuit the battery pack.
- Do not pull on the wires when removing the battery pack, pull on the connector.
- Do not immerse the battery pack in any liquid.
- The Battery Charging Efficiency Test Mode can be accessed by connecting the robot to a PC using the micro-USB port in the dirt bin well. Download the publicly available Neato serial driver at www.neatorobotics.com and run the “SetBatteryTest on” command.
- Warning – to reduce the risk of electric shock – unplug before cleaning or servicing.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- The plug must be removed from the receptacle before cleaning or maintaining the charge base.
- This appliance contains batteries that are only replaceable by skilled persons.
- This appliance contains batteries that are nonreplaceable.
- WARNING: For the purposes of recharging the battery, only use thedetachable supply unit (Model: S030BBM1950150) provided with this appliance.

Neato robot vacuums are autonomous, self-navigating machines. To protect the
robot from damage, falling, or other dangers and to avoid damages to people or
things, please check the area to be cleaned carefully before cleaning. Place
physical barriers in front of all sensitive or insecure areas and/or objects.

not release substances under their normal use. The Technical Construction File

FCC and industry Canada compliance statment
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to
the following two conditions:
- This device may not cause harmful interference, and
- This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
Caution: Changes or modifications not expressly approved by Neato Robotics
could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.
RF Radiation Hazard Warning
To ensure compliance with FCC and Industry Canada RF exposure requirements,
this device must be installed in a location where the antennas of the device
will have a minimum distance of at least 20 cm from all persons. Using higher
gain antennas and types of antennas not certified for use with this product is
not allowed. The device shall not be co-located with another transmitter.
IC/ISED Radiation Exposure Statement This product complies with the Canadian
Standard RSS-102 for portable RF exposure limits, set forth for an
uncontrolled environment and is safe for the intended operation as described
in this manual.
Industry Canada Notice and Marking
The term “IC:” before the radio certification number only signifies that
Industry Canada technical specifications were met.
This device complies with Industry Canada’s licenseexempt RSSs. Operation is
subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause
interference; and (2) This device must accept any interference, including

Laser
The Navigation Sensor contains a Class 1 rotating laser per IEC/EN 60825-1
during all procedures of operation.
- Do not aim the laser at other persons.
- Do not look at the direct or reflected beam.
- Always switch the robot vacuum off during changeover tasks.
- Modifications (changes) or attempts to repair the robot vacuum cleaner or the navigation sensor are strictly prohibited and may result in hazardous radiation exposure.

Disposal
Disposal of the Product
This symbol on product indicates the product must not be disposed of with
other household refuse. It must be disposed of and collected for recycling and
recovery of waste EEE. For more information about where you should dispose of
your waste equipment for recycling and recovery please contact your dealer or
distributor from which your product was purchased.
Disposal of batteries
This symbol on the battery indicates the battery must not be disposed of with
other household refuse. It must be disposed of and collected for recycling and
recovery through your local free battery collection system. For more
information about where you should dispose of your battery for recycling and
recovery please contact your dealer or distributor from which your product was
purchased.
Remove the battery from the product before disposal and dispose seperately in
accordance with local regulations.

Limited Manufacturer’s Warranty Summary
Neato Robotics, Inc. warrants to the original purchaser (“you” or “your”) that
your Neato hardware product (“Product”), excluding batteries and other
consumables, shall be free from defects in material and workmanship for 1 year
from the original date of purchase. In the case of batteries, a Warranty
Period of six (6) months shall apply and ‘Warranty Period’ shall be read
accordingly throughout this document. In the case that the product purchased
is a Neato-Certified Refurbished product, a Warranty Period of three (3) months
shall apply and ‘Warranty Period’ shall be read accordingly throughout this
document. In the absence of proof of purchase, Neato Robotics will take the
date of manufacture plus 90
days to allow for transit and sale as the date of purchase.
This warranty is void if parts other than Neato Genuine replacement parts are
used including but not limited to batteries, filters, brushes and boundary
markers. Using unauthorized, apparently compatible items available on the
market may damage your product or create an unsafe situation. You may also find
the full details of this limited warranty by selecting your Product in the
Support section of our website at NeatoRobotics.com. Except where prohibited
by applicable law, this warranty is nontransferable and is limited to the
original purchaser and applies only to products purchased and used in the same
country. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have
other rights that vary under local laws. If you are dealing as a consumer this
