ATTENTION
Read these instructions completely before beginning the assembly. Also follow the instructions for the other system components In this manual, there are safety instructions before steps taken point to, whenever there is a danger of personal injury or damage to the equipment. The measures described to avoid these hazards must be observed.
Personnel Qualifications
Assembly, commissioning and operation, disassembly, and service (including maintenance and repair) require basic mechanical, electrical and pneumatic knowledge, as well as knowledge of the appropriate technical terms. In order to ensure operating safety, these activities may therefore only be carried out by qualified technical personnel or an instructed person under the direction and supervision of qualified personnel.
Qualified personnel is those who can recognize possible hazards and institute the appropriate safety measures due to their professional training, knowledge, and experience, as well as their understanding of the relevant conditions pertaining to the work to be done. Qualified personnel must observe the rules relevant to the subject area.

The following must be observed during assembly

  • Make sure the relevant system component is not under pressure or voltage before disassembling or reassembling the unit when connecting or disconnecting any hoses or connectors.
  • Ensure the system cannot be switched on accidentally.
  • Hang signs on the main switch that warn workers against switching the system on.

WARNING

Risk of injuries when assembling under pressure!
If you do not switch off the pressure before assembling the product, you may get injured or the device or system components may be damaged.

  • Always depressurize the relevant system component before disassembling /assembling the product.

CAUTION

Check the threads for damage!
The threads could be damaged during assembly.

  • Ensure that mounting screws only have been tightened with a torque spanner.

Installation Note:
Use only a blunt tool to disassemble the seals and bearings.

Assembly instruction

  1. Depressurize the relevant system component
  2. Disassemble the cylinder. Use the instructions of the system manufacturer.
  3. Place the cylinder on a rigid board.
  4. Disassemble the cylinder like shown in the picture (1).

Reference note:
To exchange the piston sealings (406) and the guide belt (408) it is not necessary to disassemble the piston.
The piston rod is with Loctite to the piston agglutinated.

  1. When disassembling/ assembling the bushing (208) use a lever press and an appropriate bolt.
  2. Clean the tube, front, and end cover with alcohol.
  3. Grease the new sealings and the cleaned positions with the enclosed grease.
  4. Assemble the cylinder in reversed order.

Assembly by Tie rods:

  1. Screw the tie rod nut (A) on the short thread side, on (E) till the thread end.
  2. Enter the tie rod first through the front cover and then in the end cover.
  3. Screw other tie rod nut on the long thread side, on (F).

Tightening torques of the screw (A) and nut (B) can be found in the table below.

  • Dispose the old parts in accordance with current applicable national regulations of your country.
