Troubleshooting Guide

If your Smart fan does not connect to WiFi

This issue may be caused by not being connected to the correct Wi-Fi band in your home. Follow these steps to troubleshoot:

  1. Step 1: Check your Wi-Fi Band
Ensure that your phone is connected to the 2.4GHz network by checking the label on the back of your router. If necessary, make manual adjustments to your router to ensure it is producing a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band.

  2. Step 2: Adjust Wi-Fi Channel
If the issue persists, try changing your Wi-Fi channel. Go to the Wi-Fi settings of your 2.4GHz network and select a different channel from the drop- down menu. Refer to your router’s manual or contact your Internet Service Provider for assistance.

  3. Step 3: Remove Interference
Ensure that the Smart fan is not surrounded by large metal objects or placed near a microwave oven, as these can interfere with its Wi-Fi connectivity. Additionally, if the fan is located far from the router or behind walls, it may affect the stability and range of the connection.

  4. Step 4: Connect to a Different Wi-Fi Network
If the previous steps do not resolve the issue, try connecting the Smart fan to a different Wi-Fi network, such as a neighbor’s or friend’s. This will help determine if the connectivity issues lie with the fan or your network.

Troubleshooting Guide

If your Smart fan does not connect to WiFi then this can be caused by a few factors. WiFi band

If you cannot seem to connect to your product it may be that you are not connected to the correct WiFi band in your home. Below are the typical WiFi bands

  • 2.4GHz WiFi band works over longer distances but at a slower speed.

2.4GHz can be used with this product.

  • 5GHz WiFi band works over short distances but at faster speeds.

5GHz cannot be used with this product.
This product requires a 2.4GHz WiFi band to connect to the Homewizard climate app. You may be using a router that produces a 5GHz WiFi band.
Simple ways to check your WiFi
Check the label on the back of your router. It may show you the name of each WiFi that is given and ensure you connect your phone to the 2.4GHz network.
To do this, on your phone

  • Go to settings and select Wireless networks
  • Find the 2G network in the list
  • Connect to this network using the password from your router.

Some routers will not give this option, in this case you would need to make some manual adjustments on the router.
Below are a few options on how to adjust your router
Check online help guides, there are many provided by each Internet Service Provider and search for “change wireless channel” or “Change WiFi band”

Intro

  • Follow this step-by-step guide if your HomeWizard Climate device often loses connection with WiFi.

Step 1
Please make sure your HomeWizard Climate device isn’t too far away from your router. Also, take care not set it right next to your router as that would be too close by.

Step 2

  • If there are many different WiFi networks in or around your house, please try changing your WiFi channel.
  • You can do this by logging in to your router, go to the WiFi settings of your 2.4GHz network and select a different channel from the drop down menu.
  • If unsure on how to do this, please consult your router’s manual or ask your ISP for help.

Step 3

  • Please make sure your HomeWizard Climate device isn’t surrounded by large metal objects, as these could seriously hamper its WiFi connectivity.
  • Also, make sure not to place your HomeWizard Climate device right next to a microwave oven, since these often work at 2.4GHz as well.
  • If the WiFi signal has to pass through one or more walls, this will also impact the stability and range.

Step 5

  • If, despite all this, you are still losing connection, try to connect your HomeWizard Climate device to a different WiFi network. Perhaps that of a neighbor’s, friend’s or family member’s.
  • This will enable you to find out if the connectivity issues lie with the Climate device, or with your network instead.

My smartphone does not connect to the “FanSetup” Wi-Fi network
During setup the fan will create its own Wi-Fi network. Your phone connects to this network during setup to send your home Wi-Fi network connection information to your fan.
In some cases your phone might not automatically connect to the fan during setup.

On iPhone
The HomeWizard Climate App uses iOS’ automatic Wi-Fi connect feature. In some rare cases this feature may not work and will show errors such as ‘already associated’, ‘system error’, etc. When this happens, please reboot your iPhone and try again.
If this does not work, remove on you’re iPhone the ‘FanSetup’ Wi-Fi settings.

Forget a network on your iPhone

  1. Go to ‘Settings’

  2. And than select ‘Wifi’

  3. Tap next to the Wi-Fi network ‘HeaterSetup.

  4. Tap ‘Forget This Network’

  5. Then tap ‘Forget’ to confirm.

  6. Reboot your iPhone after doing this and try the setup again.
    NOTE
you may have to put your Fan in setup mode again to make the Wi-Fi network visible in your iPhone’s Wi-Fi settings. To do so, turn on the Fan and long- press the ‘ON/OFF’ icon until you hear 3 beeps.
    On Android
The automatic Wi-Fi connection to the fan may not work depending on the type of telephone. If this happens, do the following:

  7.  Put the Fan in pairing mode. • Switch on the Panel heater and keep the ‘ON/OFF’ pressed until you hear 3 beeps •

  8. Open the ‘HomeWizard Climate ‘ -app on your phone and make sure your phone is connected to your home network or 4G (the phone must have an active internet connection)

We are currently aware of some compatibility issues with the Hyperopic internet service and the routers that are supplied with their network when setting up.
If you find you cannot connect to your smart device or you receive a message such as the one below, we have steps that should help resolve this, but you may need to contact your Internet provider for help if unsure on accessing your router settings

  1. Reducing the Hyperoptic Wifi network name length
Hyperoptic SSID’s (Wifi network names) tend to be unusually long, as in the image below which consists of 32 characters long including spaces and symbols (!?., etc). Our devices can only ‘see’ the first 31 characters in a Wifi network name so this will need adjusting down accordingly if it is any longer.
In your phone’s Settings> Wi-Fi network settings >List of networks you may see a network name such as thisPRINCESS-2-in-1-Smart-Tower-Fan-Heater-and-
Cooler-image04 To adjust the length of this network name you will need to access your router settings.
The link below will take you to Hyperoptics support page that clearly describes how this can be undertaken: https://www.hyperoptic.com/faq/posts /changing-the-wifi-name-ssid-and-password/
As long as there are no further issues as in Step 2 below, you should now be able to connect successfully

  2. Selecting another authentication type that’s compatible with our device

Our products can work with WPA and WPA2-PSK types with WEP, TKIP and AES encryption.
WPA/WPA2-PSK is often referred to as “mixed mode”. This is a security configuration that allows both WPA and WPA2 security at the same time. This is less secure than just WPA2 and should only be used if the user has devices that can only connect with WPA. Using this mixed mode may even slow down your whole Wi-Fi network to ensure compatibility with older devices. We recommend WPA2-PSK for our device.
The Hyperhub however has an added extra security type called WPA2-EAP, although less common than the other types mentioned, our Wi-Fi connected products do not work with this WPA2 EAP type.
If your Hyperoptic router has this security type enabled, our device cannot connect until one of the other compatible types mentioned are selected instead.
