- Fat-free milk produces the most froth.
- Use whatever milk you like best in your coffee.
- Always use cold, fresh milk for frothing.
- Any coffee or tea drink you make can be served hot or iced.
- Spoon froth onto your coffee drink. Use the spoon to hold the remaining froth in Milk Frother, while pouring milk into your coffee. The milk will mix with the coffee, leaving the froth on top.
- Top any frothed drink with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon, powdered or shaved chocolate, nutmeg or chocolate or caramel topping.

Troubleshooting
The coffee Maker will not brew/coffee dispense.
- The piercing needle may be clogged. Always remove the Gray Removable Needle Holder. Clean piercing needle in the Lid of the Coffee Maker as shown on page 8.
- Mineral deposits have formed. Clean Coffee Maker following the directions in the Care and Cleaning section. Coffee tastes bad.
- Too much water was added or too much or too little ground coffee was added. Change the amount of water to coffee grounds or use less water with coffee pods.
- Poor coffee quality and freshness.
- Poor water quality (use filtered or bottled water).
Coffee sediment in the cup.
- Try a more coarsely ground coffee or add a #1 paper cone coffee filter to the Brew Basket. Make sure the hinged Lid is closed on the Removable Brew Basket.
Water on a counter under the unit.
- Overfilled Water Reservoir. Do not add more than 14 ounces (414 ml) of water. Some mugs/cups do not pour cleanly and can dribble water down the side of a cup and onto the counter.
Coffee overflows from the Brew Basket.
- Use a Removable Brew Basket with a Lid for ground coffee.
- Use a lesser amount of ground coffee. 3 tablespoons (44 ml) is the maximum amount of grounds to brew.
- When using whole-bean coffee, a standard automatic drip coffee grind will yield the best results. Be careful not to overgrind, since very finely ground coffee can cause overflow.
- The black seal around the needle in Removable Needle Holder is missing. Carefully place the seal around the needle and push until in place.
Coffee overflows from a mug or travel mug.
- To prevent coffee from overflowing from a mug/travel mug, use the same mug/travel mug to brew into that was used to fill the Water Reservoir. Do not add more than 14 ounces (414 ml) of water. There may also be additional water in the system that is causing overflow. Remove the Brew Basket or Single-Serve Pod Holder. Press and hold the BREW REG or BREW BOLD button to remove any remaining water.
Coffee single-serve pod bursts.
- There is variability in the single-serve pod manufacturing process, which causes some types of single-serve pods to be weaker at the seams; so the foil seal fails. Try a different brand.
- You have soft water or a water-softening system. Use bottled water for better-tasting coffee and to help prevent a clogged filter.
Brew Indicator Light flashes:
- 2 times: The Coffee Maker needs to be cleaned. See page 8.
- 3 times: Coffee Maker Lid is not closed properly. Push the Lid down to lock it into place.
- 7 times: Coffee Maker needs to be cleaned. See page 8.
- 8 times: Needle is clogged. Always remove the Gray Removable Needle Holder and follow “Clogged Needle” on page 8.
- 9 times: Not enough water. Add water to the Water Reservoir.
Frother red and blue lights flashing.
- Allow Frother to cool.
