Using Remote Control

Power Turns the TV on or off.
— (Dash) Inserts a — between numbers such as 2-1 and 2-2. Accesses the saved channel list.
GUIDE** Accesses the [Guide].
GUIDE ACCESS Accesses the [Edit Quick Access]. [Edit Quick Access] is a feature that allows you to enter a specified app or Live TV directly by pressing and holding the number buttons.
Volume buttons Adjusts the volume level.
Channel buttons Scrolls through the saved channels.
Home Accesses the Home menu.
** Home Launches the last used apps
Input Changes the input source.
** Input Accesses the [Home Dashboard].
Wheel (OK) Press the center of **button to select a menu. You can change channels by using button.
Wheel (OK)** Accesses the [Magic Explorer].
You can run the [Magic Explorer] feature when the pointer color is changed to purple.
If watching a program, press and hold down the pointer onto the video. When using [TV Guide], [Settings], [Sports Alert], or [Art Gallery], press and hold down on the text.

Number buttons Enters numbers.
Accesses the [Quick Help].
More actions Displays more remote control functions.
AD/SAP
SAP (Secondary Audio Program) feature can also be enabled by pressing the- – – button.
Mute Mutes all sounds.
** Mute Accesses the [Accessibility] menu.
Voice recognition Network connection is required to use the voice recognition function.
Check for recommended content. (Some recommended services may not be available in some countries.)
** Voice recognition Speak while pressing and holding the button to use the voice recognition feature.
Up/Down/Left/Right Press the up, down, left or right button to scroll the menu. If you press **buttons while the pointer is in use, the pointer will disappear from the screen and Magic
Remote will operate like a general remote control. To display the pointer on the screen again, shake Magic Remote to the left and right.
Q. Settings Accesses the Quick Settings.
** Q. Settings Displays the [All Settings] menu.
Back Returns to the previous level.
** Back Clears on-screen displays and returns to last input viewing.
These access special functions in some menus.

Red button Runs the record function.
1 Streaming Service buttons Connects to the Video Streaming Service.

Pair / Registering Magic Remote Control

How to Pair register the Magic Remote Control
To use the Magic Remote, first pair it with your TV.

1. Put batteries into the Magic Remote and turn the TV on.
2. Point the Magic Remote at your TV and press the Wheel (OK) on the remote control.

• If the TV fails to register the Magic Remote, try again after turning the TV off and back on.

How to deregister the Magic Remote Control
Press the (Back) and (Home) buttons at the same time, for five seconds, to unpair the Magic Remote with your TV.

• Press and hold the (Home) and   (Q.Settings) buttons for more than 5 seconds to disconnect and re-register the Magic Remote at the same time.

  • It is recommended that an Access Point (AP) be located more than 0.2 m (0.65 ft) away from the TV. If the AP is installed closer than 0.2 m (0.65 ft), the Magic remote control may not perform as expected due to frequency interference.

Registering / Pair the Magic Remote Control

You must register the Magic Remote Control on your Smart TV when you use it for the first time. To register your Magic Remote Control using the Wheel (OK) button, perform the following steps:

1. Turn on your Smart TV.
2. Wait for 10 seconds while your Smart TV turns on.
3. Aim the Magic Remote Control at the Smart TV, and then press the Wheel (OK) button. A message appears after the Magic Remote Control is registered. If the Magic Remote Control does not register, turn your Smart TV off and on again and repeat the registration process.

If the Magic Remote Control is not functioning properly, initialize it and then re-register it. To use the Smart Home ( ) button and BACK ( ) button on the Magic Remote Control to re-register the Magic Remote Control, perform the following steps:

1. Hold down the Smart Home ( ) button and BACK ( ) button on the Magic Remote Control for 5 seconds to initialize the Magic Remote Control.
2. Aim the Magic Remote Control at your Smart TV, and then press the Wheel ( OK ) button. A message appears after the Magic Remote Control is registered.

NOTE:
Aim the Magic Remote Control at your Smart TV, and then hold down the BACK ( ) button for 5 seconds to re-register the Magic Remote Control.

Configuring the Magic Remote Control Pointer

Smart Home ( ) > Settings > OPTION > Pointer
To configure the speed, shape, and size of the Magic Remote Control pointer, perform the following steps

1. On the Magic Remote Control, press the Smart Home ( ) button to open the home screen of your Smart TV.
2. On the home screen, select Settings.
3. Select OPTION > Pointer to open the pointer settings window.
4. Select the setting you wish to configure:

• Speed: Sets the movement speed of the pointer.
• Shape: Selects the shape of the pointer
• Size: Sets the size of the pointer
• Alignment: Enables or disables the alignment function of the pointer.

NOTE:
The Alignment function repositions the pointer to the center of the screen when you shake the Magic Remote Control

Inserting the battery

• When the message [Magic Remote battery is low. Please change the battery.] is displayed, replace the batteries. To install batteries, open the battery cover, replace batteries (1.5 V AA) matching the and ends to the label inside the compartment, and close the battery cover. Using Voice Recognition

You can use the voice recognition function to search for content or post/share comments on social network services.
Searching
You can perform searches by saying keywords directly into your Magic Remote Control.
To use voice recognition for searches, perform the following steps:

1. On the home screen, select Search.

2. Inthe search field, select .
   – The QWERTY keyboard that appears when you select the search field also features a voice recognition function .
   – Even when the QWERTY keyboard is displayed on the screen, you can still use the Voice Recognition ( ) button on the Magic Remote Control to
   access the voice recognition function.

3. Say a keyword into the Magic Remote Control to display the voice recognition results on the screen.
   – If there is only one voice recognition result, then the Search Results screen opens automatically.

4. Look for the desired keyword in the voice recognition results.
   – If the desired keyword does not appear, select Retry and say the keyword again.

5. Select the desired keyword to open the search results for that keyword.

NOTE:
You can search by voice while entering a keyword into the search field. Select on the QWERTY keyboard, and then say the keyword into the
Magic Remote Control.
The success rate of voice recognition may change depending on the ambient noise, voice volume, pronunciation, intonation, or speaking speed.
Browsing
You can say a keyword into the Magic Remote Control to search for content on the Internet.
To use the voice recognition function for Internet searches, perform the following steps:

1. On the home screen, select Internet.

2. Select the search field of a site to open the QWERTY keyboard at the bottom of the screen.

3. Select on the QWERTY keyboard or, with the QWERTY keyboard displayed, press the Voice Recognition ( ) button on the Magic Remote Control.

4. Say a keyword into the Magic Remote Control to display the voice recognition results on the screen.
   – If there is only one voice recognition result, then that result is entered in the search field automatically.

5. Look for the desired keyword in the voice recognition results.
   – If the desired keyword does not appear, select Retry and say the keyword again.

6. Select the desired keyword to enter it in the search field.

7. Select the Search button on the site to open the search results for that keyword.
   – The Search button may differ based on the site.

Notes for Using Voice Recognition

• You must connect to the Internet to use the voice recognition function.
• When speaking into the Magic Remote Control, keep a distance of about 10 cm between your face and the Magic Remote Controt.
• If you speak too quickly or too slowly, voice recognition may fail.
• The success rate of voice recognition may change depending on the ambient noise, voice volume, pronunciation, intonation, or speaking speed.
• To change the Voice Recognition Language, go to Smart Home ( ) > Settings > OPTION > Language > Voice Recognition Language.
