Consumption

The power meter is a monitoring and testing device for measuring power consumption of a connected appliance and the cost of the electricity consumed.

Display Modes

  1. There are 7 display modes to show different data measured. Please press FUNCTION button to switch between different modes(from LCD DISPLAY to LCD DISPLAY <7>).
  2. The first line shows the cumulative time: The duration of how long the device is measured.

Within the first 60 minutes: the time is showed as minutes and seconds, e.g. 12:06 means 12 minutes and 6 seconds;
Over 60 minutes: the time is showed as hours and minutes, e.g. 12:06 means 12 hours and 6 minutes;
Over 24 hours(cycle   repeated): the time is counted from 0:00 again, while 1 day is added on Display 2 (check the third line on Display 2).

Overload Settings

The default overload threshold is 3680W. Please change it to 1800W.

  1. Press the FUNCTION button for more than 3 seconds to enter the setting mode.
  2. Press the FUNCTION button to select the locations, and press UP/DOWN button to set the digits to 1800.

Overload Display

The default overload threshold is 3680W.
Once the loading power is over threshold, the word “OVERLOAD” will flash all the time. Please turn off the
appliance for safety concern.
NOTE: The word “OVERLOAD” displayed on Display 7 without flashes does not mean that power is overloaded. Only when the word “OVERLOAD” keeps flashing, does it mean power is overloaded.

Memory Function

When power off, all setting data and cumulative data(Electricity quantity, cost, unit price, time) will be saved. The data will be displayed again when power on.(NOT including current, voltage, power, power factors).

Data Clear (cumulative data only)

Press and hold the “FUNCTION” button and “UP” button at the same time to clear all cumulative data(kWh data, cost data and total time data), NOT including price, overload settings and backlight time.

Reset Function ( if power meter is blank or crashes, please reset the power meter)

Two ways to reset the power meter. After rest, all data will be clear to factory settings.

  1. Disconnect the power meter from the power supply and connect it again to reset it.
  2. Use the included reset tool to press the reset button in the small hole. DO NOT press with a needle to avoid the button getting stuck in the hole.

Time will NOT be measured and counted when:

  1. The measured device is in standby or not working;
  2. The rated power of the measured device is lower than 0.5 watt.

E.g., even a refrigerator has been plugged in for 24 hours, the time displayed may be only 5 hours. This is because the compressor of the refrigerator only works for 5 hours. (Compressor stops working when the desired temperature has been reached.).
In this way you know the actual working time of your device.
NOTE: Time is not counted when power is lower than 0.5 watt, but energy consumption is always measured since the device was plugged in.
Time will NOT be measured

Back light Adjustment (No back light version does not have this function)
Back light only lights up when the device is connected to AC power.

  1. Default back light time duration : 10 minutes (bL-0). If no button is pressed, the backlight turns off automatically after the back light time expires.
  2. Press and hold “UP” button and “DOWN” button at the same time to enter backlight time setting. Now “bL-0” is displayed on the LCD and flashes for 10 seconds.
  3. Press “UP” or “DOWN” button to set the back light lighting time. (bL-0= 10 minutes, bL-11 hour, bl-2=4 hours, bL-3=8 hours, bL-4 always on.)
  4. Press “COST” to save the back light time settings.
  5. Press “DOWN” button to turn off the backlight manually.
