POWERSMART PS24 Snow Blower User Guide

UNPACKING

Unpack the snow thrower and all its parts and compare against the list below.

  1. Snow thrower
  2. Discharge chute assembly
  3. Chute rotation handle
  4. One set of skid shoes with attaching hardware
  5. (Qty. 4) extra shear pins and lock nuts
  6. Speed control connection rod and clean out tool.
  7. (Qty. 4) nuts and bolts for handle 7
  8. 19.6oz 5W-30 oil

Step 1: Installing the Upper Handle

  1. When installing the Upper Handle, please note that the Drive & Auger Cables will already be pre-attached to Upper Handle.
  2. Attach Upper Handle using the Frame Handle Assembly Hardware (Qty. 4 sets/M8 Nut, bolts) for your Upper & Lower Handle connection.
  3. When attaching Assembly Hardware, make sure ALL cables are underneath the Frame (Upper & Lower) Handles after installation as indicated in Figure 1.VERY IMPORTANT!!!***

Assembling Drive & Auger Cables over the top of the Frame Handle will cause unnecessary tension in the cables, resulting in the Snow thrower propelling forward when starting the engine and may cause damage to the drive & auger control (levers) when trying to engage them.

  1. Cut and remove all tie wraps that are on Cables, Frame Handles, Drive Control (Lever) & Auger Control(Lever).
  2. Verify that the connection for the Upper & Lower Drive/Auger Cables is accurate. ( See Figure 1)

Step 2: Installing Speed Control Connection Rod

  1. Install the connection rod to the hole in the Frame as indicated on Figure 2-1.
  2. Install another side of connection rod to the hole in the trigger as indicated on Figure 2-2

Step 3: Installing the Chute Assembly

  1. Insert Lower Discharge Chute/Support Tube Assembly into the designated Chute opening for the Lower Discharge Chute, while inserting the Support Tube into the designated base of the Frame. (See Figure 3)
  2. Secure Support Tube to base with (Qty. 2) Screws provided.
  3. Hook the snow chute cable into the snow chute mouth control rod, and then clip it into the cable support plate

Step 4: Installing the Chute Rotation Handle

  1. Slide Chute Handle through Chute Handle Guide near the Upper Panel, as indicated on Figure 4.
  2. Attach Chute Handle to base of Chute Gear Connection and secure with Cotter Pin, as indicated on **Figure 4.

  1. Verify that ALL cables are clear and not obstructing the Chute Handle operation of your Snow thrower unit

Step 5: Insert AAA battery for LED light

Step 6: Installing Clean Out Tool

  1. Insert the Clean Tool into the lower handle bracket.

Step 7 Installing Skid Shoes

  1. Take out the skid shoes, bolts and nuts.
  2. Assemble the skid shoes to the housing.

**Step 8: Add Motor Oil and Gasoline

**

  1. Add 5w-30 4 stroke motor oil to the range level on the dipstick 8-20 ounces.
  2. Fill gas tank with 87 octane or higher unleaded gasoline.
  3. Run engine for 15 seconds, recheck oil level, add oil if needed
