Manufactured for Compass Health Brands.

INTRODUCTION

The Soccer Ball Nebulizer Compressor System is a medical device designed to deliver medicine prescribed by a physician to the airways of the lungs. The Nebulizer Set and the Air Compressor combined provides aerosol mist for inhalation by the patient for medical treatment only.

Statement of Indication for Use
The Soccer Ball Nebulizer Compressor is including an AC powered air compressor that provides a source of compressed air for use with a jet nebulizer in a home health care setting. The compressor provides a maximum flow rate of 8 Lpm that can be connected to is used in conjunction with a jet (pneumatic) nebulizer with the same performance specifications to convert certain inhalable drugs into an aerosol form for inhalation by a patient. The patient population is determined by the nebulizer to which it is connected.
The disposable nebulizer cup is used to administer various aerosol treatments to adult and pediatric patients in both the homecare and healthcare settings. Its use is indicated whenever a physician or healthcare professional administers or prescribes medical aerosol products to a patient using a Small Volume Nebulizer. The disposable nebulizer cup is disposable, single-patient- use and intended for use with pediatric (5 years and older) and adult patient.
The Reusable Jet Nebulizer is a handheld, pneumatic nebulizer designed to aerosolize prescription drugs for inhalation by a patient. Its use is indicated whenever a healthcare professional administers or prescribes medical aerosol products to a patient using a small volume nebulizer. The Reusable Jet Nebulizer is intended for use with pediatric (2 years and older) and as defined by the prescribed medication and adult patients in hospital/ institutional settings, home care use, schools, and long term care facilities.

GETTING STARTED

  1. Check to ensure the following components of the nebulizer are enclosed:
    • Compressor unit
    • Tubing and accessories (see pages 5 for illustration of parts)

  2. It is recommended to keep extra tubing, accessories and air filters on hand at all times in case original parts become lost, damaged, or soiled.

CAUTION
If you did not receive the components listed in this manual, please contact the dealer where you purchased your nebulizer.

SETTING UP THE NEBULIZER COMPRESSOR AND NEBULIZER ACCESSORIES
CAUTION
Tubing and accessories are NOT sterile from package. Prior to initial operation, the nebulizer should be thoroughly cleaned.

  1. Wash hands with soap and warm water and dry completely with a clean towel.

  2. Place the compressor on a clean, dust-free, stable and flat surface. Check the filter monthly or every 10 12 treatments and replace if dirty, clogged, or wet to ensure proper operation.

  3. Make sure tubing and accessories have been cleaned and/or disinfected before first use and after last daily treatment. Refer to the Cleaning and Disinfecting Tubing and Accessories section on page 9.

  4. Remove the nebulizer cap by twisting counter-clockwise until it stops and lift up (Figure 3-1). Be sure that the cone is put inside the bottom section

  5. Fill nebulizer cup with medication from unit dose vial, eye dropper, or syringe. Do not fill more than 5 ml per treatment (Figure 3-2).

  6. Close the nebulizer cap and turn clockwise until it is tightened (Figure 3-3).

  7. If using the mask (optional), press it directly into the nebulizer cap (Figure 4). If using the mouthpiece, attach it firmly into the nebulizer cap. The cap is designed to fit tightly (Figure 4).

  8. If using reusable jet nebulizer reference Figure 5 for instructions.
    Directions For Use:
    1. Wash hands with soap and warm water.
    2. Remove the nebulizer cup cap by twisting counter-clockwise until it stops (Fig 1). Lift up on the cap.
    3. Fill nebulizer cup with prescribed medication (Fig 2). DO NOT fill more than 8mVtreatment.
    4. Place the cap back into the container with 0 e the medication and turn clockwise until it is locked into place (Fig 3). Attach mouthpiece to component marked “1”.
    5. Connect tubing to circular port at the bottom of the cup marked “2”.

d=0.70ÖP 800 MHz to 2.5 GHz
where P is the maximum output power rating of the transmitter in watts (W) according to the transmitter manufacturer and d is the recommended separation distance in metres (m).

Interference may occur in the
vicinity of equipment marked with
the following symbol:

NOTE 1 : At 80 MHz and 800 MHz, the higher frequency range applies.
NOTE 2 : These guidelines may not apply in all situations. Electromagnetic propagation is affected by absorption and reflection from structures, objects and people.
a Field strengths from fixed transmitters, such as base stations for radio (cellular/cordless) telephones and land mobile radios, amateur radio, AM and FM radio broadcast and TV broadcast cannot be predicted theoretically with accuracy. To assess the electromagnetic environment due to fixed RF transmitters, an electromagnetic site survey should be considered. If the measured field strength in the location in which the equipment is used exceeds the applicable RF compliance level above, the equipment should be observed to verify normal operation. If abnormal performance is observed, additional measures may be necessary, such as reorienting or relocating the equipment.
b Over the frequency range 150kHz to 80 MHz field strengths should be less than 3 V/m

Recommended separation distances between portable and mobile RF communications equipment and the equipment
The Soccer Ball Nebulizer is intended for use in an electromagnetic environment in which radiated RF disturbances are controlled. The customer or the user of the equipment can help prevent electromagnetic interference by maintaining a minimum distance between portable and mobile RF communications equipment (transmitters) and the equipment as recommended below, according to the maximum

output power of the communications equipment.

Rated maximum output power of transmitter W| Separation distance according to frequency of transmitters In meters
---|---
150 kHz -80 MHz
| 80 MHz to 800MHz
| 800 MHz to 2.5 GHz

0.01| 0.12| 0.12| 0.23
0.1| 0.38| 0.38| 0.73
1| 1.2| 1.2| 2.3
10| 3.8| 3.8| 7.3
100| 12| 12| 23

For transmitters rated at a maximum output power not listed above, the recommended separation distance d in meters (m) can be estimated using the equation applicable to the frequency of the transmitter, where P is the maximum output power rating of the transmitter in watts (W) according to the transmitter manufacturer.

NOTE 1 At 80 MHz and 800 MHz, the separation distance for the higher frequency range applies.
NOTE 2 These guidelines may not apply in all situations. Electromagnetic propagation is affected by absorption and reflection from structures, objects and people.
